Okay, so, flame shield on:

First off, sorry if there is an official artwork thread I should be posting in, but I couldn't find it, or it wasn't labeled well. The forum rules say nothing about not posting an artwork thread, at least as far as I could tell, so here I go.

I like to draw as a hobby of mine. I'm not particularly good, and I make no claims to be. One thing I try to do to become better is to see if I can approximate the styles of other artists. Not because I want to copy them, but because I wan to see how their artwork works, what makes it work, yadda yadda. While trying to approximate the artistic style of the VERY talented http://bleedman.deviantart.com/,I drew some OOtS guys, and I think they came out fairly well, considering my level of ability, that is. So, here are some SKETCHES that I did (no, they are not fully done pieces of art.)

For those of you who want to flame me, here are some things I admit:
1) Yes, I am not super-awesome at drawing. If you want to say that my art sucks, well, go ahead, I guess, but really, I know.
2)Yes, I am trying to approximate Bleedman's style. I explained this as an ongoing process to come up with my own style. I used his drawing for references, but I did not line-trace or copy.
3)These are just for fun. If people like them, or want more, I may do more.

Sketch 1:
Belkar (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Degausser/BelkarSketch.png)
A sketch of Belkar going crazy. There are lines in the background because this was a big sketch page, but all the other sketches are bad.

Sketch 2:
Roy Greenhilt (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Degausser/RoySketch.png)
Roy drawing his sword. That one hand and his arms are crap, but hey, just a rough sketch, right?

Sketch 3:
Vaarsuvius (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Degausser/VSketch.png)
A standard pic of V man. Turned out pretty effeminate, but then again, has no chest and wide shoulders, so I'll call that androgynous.

weell... there aren't any official art thread. But there IS an art subforum where our artist and whatnot have their gallery.

edit: hey! I thought I recognized your nick. You're the author of grim tales! I like that webcomic.

I like the style --- I think it might be improved by "maturing" the style a bit; this feels a lot like chibi (though I wouldn't say that it is chibi), which isn't a style I'm sure works for OOTS. It does a good job of catching key traits, but I think making it look a little rougher around the edges could help it.

You capture the characters well, which is definitely a strong point that a lot of OOTS fanart fails to do. Stick figures don't really lend themselves to letting people express the characters in different mediums.

Actually, I think the vague SD style works since its simplistic.

And as said earlier, there's a subforum for this.
