The fleet of office building was much funnier in Meaning of Life. Still pretty good.

The Kung Fu one was full of pseudo-science. I don't mind if the techniques exist, but I wish they wouldn't try to pretend its scientificly verified.

Yeah. It wouldn't surprise me though if the 'flow of 'ki' could be tracked through as heat sensing camera as most of these techniques seem to involve extreme tensing of muscles. The heat given off would show up on infra-red.

They're certainly... fanciful. More honest about being fanciful than our own ads, I must admit.

...Wait, don't you lose about two irreplacable brain cells every time you hit your head?

I’m calling shenanigans on some of the kung fu breaking. Looking as where the boards and bricks are breaking, they are not kicking or punching through the object, they are just hitting it hard enough to snap it at its base. Others are being placed halfway on a sidewalk, and then hit, so naturally they are snapping where the support ends. So as far as breaking demonstrations go, some of it is kinda lame.

...Wait, don't you lose about two irreplacable brain cells every time you hit your head?

If it is hit hard enough, yea. Not to mention, you have millions upon millions of brain cells, only like 10% of which are used, so you got alot of unneeded ones.

However, anytime a bone is hit (even as gently as your foot hitting the ground when you walk) causes your bones to strengthen the part getting hit. If enough time goes by with out trauma, they go back to normal, but it makes sense that if you gently hit the head (like it seemed they were doing with their hands), then progress to the sandbag, then hours of headstands, that your head would get stronger. Its been done with other bones. The punching a wall thing really works. If you hit hard stuff enough, your fists get stronger. Same with arms, legs, and feet (and anything else you hit stuff with)

Yeah I’ve seen X-rays of martial artists hands (brick breakers specifically), and the bones in their hands were like 3 times as dense as normal because of all the trauma they put their hands through. Its kinda nifty.

I'm pretty sure that myth's been busted. If you tell a neurologist that, I'm also pretty sure he'll just laugh and say "no, the psychics are just pulling your leg."

Because no one would watch it. It looks funny as a Youtube video, but at the end of the day it'd be gibberish and frankly a bit pants.

It actually has been shown with heat-sensing cameras. By which I mean, some guy could supposedly generate over a hundred celcius (I think?) just above his palm. Same guy could walk over stretches of ricepaper a half-foot above the ground without breaking it.

There's a lot of evidence of ki/qi/chi existing and being manipulatable, but exactly what it is and how it works is...unidentified, so far. One of the theories has to do with bioelectromagnetism. Other examples have been shown mostly to be biomechanics and regular physics.

Yeah, after the video in the OP, I decided to look that one up. Here it is. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fc0bI5CPuk) It's Ripley's Believe It Or Not, which is obviously a scientifically verified and reliable source, so take it with however much salt you want. Thankfully, it's less... fanciful than my friend initially made it out to be: he said "more than 200°!" and completely failed to mention it was Fahrenheit.

93 celcius is still...a lot, for body-generated heat.
