In our group, we have recently been using the Aion character creation to make portraits of our characters in our pen and paper games. Our problem is that we are no longer playing Aion and our subscriptions are running out.
Do any of you have any suggestions for a similar method of generating character portraits for our characters with as much customizing as possible, but without a monthly subscription.

Thanks in advance.

Why do you need a character portrait for every character?
Also don't all the Aion peoples have wings?
There is a person, ~LordXavius, in the deviantART group #giantitp who does character portraits using the WoW character generator I think...

On the character creation screen they don't have wings(only get them at level 10 :D ) and the reason we like the Aion one is that it is highly customizable, and having a printout of the characters when we sit around the table gives that little extra immersion that we like. The wow character generator doesn't really have the ability for customization we are looking for.

Well what about nwn/nwn2 char creation? ^^
It is d&d and has a ton of optimization (you can download fanpackages that increases it even further)

Have you tried heromachine 2.5 (http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heromachine2/heroMachine2.asp)? It's not perfect, I can't always get quite what I want out of it, but it can do a lot more then just spandex and superheroes.

If you want even more flexibility use heromachine 3 (http://www.heromachine.com/heromachine-3-lab/). Its still a work in progress and has some bugs, but it is much more powerful than the old version.

The trouble I find is that its a bit TOO powerful. It's gotten to the point where I could use the time spent finicking improving my drawing skills. But that's my opinion from playing it a few months ago on a pre-GHZ computer.
