This is my first attempt at a 4e homebrew. Be polite, but honest, if that's not too much trouble.



Darksoul
"The power of the soul is unmatchable. So how can you possibly defeat a man with three souls?"

CLASS TRAITS
Role: Leader. You imbue your allies with power and drain the essence of your foes, leaving them vulnerable to attack.
Power Source: Shadow
Key Abilities: Charisma, Intelligence, Constitution

Armor Proficienceies: Cloth, leather, hide
Weapon Proficiencies: Simple melee
Bonus to Defense: +1 Will, +1 Fortitude

Hit Points at 1st Level: 12 + Constitution score
Hit Points per Level Gained: 5
Healing Surges per Day: 7 + Constitution modifier

Trained Skills: Choose 3 Trained Skills from the list below at 1st level:
Arcana(Int), Diplomacy(Cha), History(Int), Intimidate(Cha), and Stealth(Dex).
Class Features: Possession, Soul Infusion, Soul's Strength



Implement
Darksouls use Rods or Tomes as implements for their attacks.
Darksoul Class Features

Possession
As a Darksoul, you have the ability to split your soul into fragments and imbue them into your allies and enemies. You gain the Benign Possession and Malign Possession powers.

Soul Infusion
Choose one of the following class features.

Guiding Soul
Whenever you make a daily attack with the Malign Possessor Keyword, you may slide the target of your benign possession a number of squares equal to your intelligence modifier, and they gain a +2 bonus to attacks until the end of their next turn. Whenever you make a daily attack with the Benign Possessor Keyword or use your Soul's Stength feature on your Benign Possessed, you may slide your Malign Possessed a number of squares equal to your intelligence modifier and they take an additional -2 penalty to defenses until the end of your next turn.

Forceful Soul
Whenever you make a daily attack with the Malign Possessor Keyword, you can grant your Benign Possessed temporary hit points equal to 2 + your Constitution modifier. This increases to 7 + Con Mod at level 11 and 12+ Con Mod at level 21. Whenever you make a daily attack with the Benign Possessor Keyword, your Malign Possessed takes a penalty to their next attack roll equal to your constitution modifier.

Soul's Strength
You can transfer the stuff of souls among your allies, healing those who need it most. You gain the Soul's Strength power.

Benign Possession - - - - - Darksoul Feature

Minor Action - - -Close Burst Con or Int Mod or Benign Possessed Burst Con or Int Mod
Target: One ally in the burst
Effect:You possess the target until the end of the encounter or until you move your Benign Possession to another ally. While the target is possessed they get a +1 bonus their attacks and defenses. In addition, your powers that have the "Benign Possessed" range determine their range, line of sight, and line of effect from the target's space.
Special: Once you use this power, you cannot use it again until the end of your next turn. You also cannot use this power in the same round that you use Malign Possession.If you have no target Benign Possessed, the burst is centered on you. If you are already using Benign Possession on a target, the burst is centered on them. You select whether to use your Constitution or Intelligence modifier for the range of this power when you gain it.

Malign Possession - - - - - Darksoul Feature

Target: One enemy in the burst
Effect:You possess the target until the end of the encounter or until you move your Malign Possession to another enemy. While the target is possessed they take a -1 penalty to their attacks and defenses. In addition, your powers that have the "Malign Possessed" range determine their range, line of sight, and line of effect from the target's space.
Special: Once you use this power, you cannot use it again until the end of your next turn. You also cannot use this power in the same round that you use benign possession Possession. If you have no target Malign Possessed, the burst is centered on you. If you are already using Malign Possession on a target, the burst is centered on them. Soul's Strength - - - - - Darksoul Feature
You channel strength from an ally towards another friend in need.

Minor Action - - - Benign Possessed burst 2(4 at lvl 11, 5 at lvl 21)
Target: One ally in the burst
Effect: The target may spend a healing surge. If they do, another ally adjacent to your Malign Possessed gains 1d6 hit points. This increases to 2d6 at 6th level, 3d6 at 11th level, 4d6 at 16 level, 5d6 at 21st level, and 6d6 at 26th level.
Special: You can use this power 2 times per encounter, but only once per round. At 16th level, this increases to 3 times per encounter.

Level 1 At-Will Incantations

Shadow Guidance - - - - - Darksoul Attack 1
At-Will * Shadow, Necrotic, Implement
Standard Action - - -Ranged sight 5
Target: One creature
Attack: Charisma vs. Reflex
Hit: 1d8 + Charisma modifier damage, and the next attack your Benign Possessed makes against the target before the start of your next turn deals bonus damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
Increase damage to 2d8 + Charisma modifier at 21st level.

Soul Hop - - - - - Darksoul Attack 1
At-Will * Shadow, Implement
Standard Action - - -Ranged sight 10
Target: Your Malign Possessed
Attack: Charisma vs. Will
Hit: 1d8 + Charisma modifier damage, and you may transfer either your Malign or Benign possession to a creature adjacent to its current target
Increase damage to 2d8 + Charisma modifier at 21st level.

Toxic Transfer - - - - - Darksoul Attack 1
At-Will * Shadow, Poison, Benign Possessed, Implement
Standard Action - - -Benign Possessed burst 1
Target: All enemies in the burst
Attack: Charisma vs. Fortitude
Hit: Charisma modifier damage.
Increase damage to 1d6 + Charisma modifier at 21st level.
Effect: Your Benign possession target can make a saving throw with a +2 bonus.

Essence Theft - - - - - Darksoul Attack 1
At-Will * Shadow, Necrotic, Benign Possessed, Implement
Standard Action - - -Benign Possessed Melee 1
Target: One Creature
Attack: Charisma vs. Fortitude
Hit: 1d8 + Charisma Modifier necrotic damage, and your Benign Possessed gains temporary hit points equal to 2 + 1/2 your level.
Increase damage to 2d8 + Charisma modifier at 21st level.
Forceful Soul: The amount of temporary hitpoints gained is 1 + your constitution modifier + 1/2 your level.

Sleepwalk - - - - - Darksoul Attack 1
At-Will * Shadow, Implement
Standard Action - - -Ranged sight 10
Target: Your Malign Possessed
Effect: You slide the target a number of squares equal to your intelligence modifier. This movement cannot bring the target into difficult or hazardous terrain, or over an edge. At the end of this movement, an ally of your choice can make a Melee Basic Attack against the target as a free action.
Guiding Soul: If the ally making this attack is your Benign Possessed, they get a bonus to their damage roll equal to your intelligence modifier.

Soul Spike - - - - - Darksoul Attack 1
At-Will * Shadow, Malign Possessed Implement
Standard Action - - -Malign Possessed Melee 1
Target: One Creature
Attack: Charisma vs. Fortitude
Hit: Charisma modifier damage, and the target and your Malign Possessed take a -2 penalty on attack rolls on their next attack.
Miss: Your Malign Possessed take a -1 penalty to their next attack.
Increase damage to 1d6 + Charisma modifier at 21st level.
