There's team Peregrine, http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0670.html, team Harrier, http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0705.html, and what else?
Also do you think they are all names after birds of pray? (I'm looking forward to team Kestrel).

I think they might be named after OBSCURE bird's of prey...
I mean, Eagle, Hawk, Falcon and so forth; they are not only common but seem kind of boring and cliche'...

Harrier, Peregrine on the other hand are far less common bird names, most would not recognize them... as such they seem more cool and dynamic

so i might expect Osprey, kestrel and Caracara...
maybe kite and buzzard, since they don't sound as birdish

As for how many teams... depends on the levels... if we are looking at lv10ish teams... then i think 5 would be a good number, as lv 10's can do a lot of damage in a city mostly populated by low levels; fighting guerilla style they be very difficult to stop and might have access to "raise dead"... but if we looking at more like levels 5-10, then i got no guesses...

Maybe the whole force (comprising multiple teams) will have a name expressing the theme as a whole.

Like "Raptor Army" or "Elven Liberation Force Raptor" or something similar.

Ya it becomes very recognizable if you refer to it as "Peregrine Falcon"

There must be eleven elven teams.

Because "eleven" is "elven" with an extra "e".

There must be eleven elven teams.

That's ridiculous. It's not even funny. (Cookie for the first recognizer)

I'm guessing maybe one or two more, but who knows? Rich loves to surprise us.

Don't recognize. But I also was aiming more for "clever" than "LOLZ".

So not Oracle, Huntress and Black Canary then? We're talking more like Zinda and Savant?

Sorry, I've been reading that recently.

I would expect the Teams to all have one-word, short names that are easily recognizable and told apart from each other. That's because they are apparently an Elven version of a spelling alphabet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelling_alphabet) to some degree, in that they must be easy to use by reflex in combat and/or stressful situations.

There are probably about a half dozen (named) teams at most, more likely three or four. Much more than that makes military coordination tricky and troublesome. Some of them could well be more manned (well, elvened, I guess) than these two covert ops teams that we have seen so far.

As for the names, after Peregrine and Harrier, the others will probably resemble combat aircraft and/or birds of prey as well. Then again, we met Peregrine coming from far away all of a sudden, and Harrier watching attently from the top of a building, so there seems to be a situational theme operating here. We might have a Team Shark coming from the sea, for instance.

Team Teratornis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teratornis)? With 12' tall elves!

Or Team Haast's Eagle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haast's_eagle), but that doesn't roll off the tongue as well.
