The air surrounding you fairly hums with the residue of magic, an aftereffect of the spell that brought you to this place. A quick glance reveals that you are in a small room, devoid of any life save for yourself. The sound of dripping water can be heard faintly, and the stone walls are slick with moisture. In complete defiance of logic, a torch is already lit, resting in a sconce near the room's single door.

((The bonus to Use Rope was from Silk Rope, Seeing as this is the only rope she carries I just added the bonus so I wouldn't forget))

Murmuring something to herself about the continued oddness of this day. Mylla walks up to the door and opens it. Gazing down the hallway with her red flecked eyes, she gets a black and white picture of it.

Thanks for running this, I hope the race etc. doesn't bother you. I heard how my friend died when running this, Gallagher if you were his DM. So I didn't hesitate to pull out stops

The door slides open easily, revealing an unlit hall (not that you care) running to the south and east.
To the east, it runs beyond the range of even your sight.
After ten feet, it splits to the north and south. After thirty feet, there is a door on the north side of the hall, At 60ft there is a split North and south.

To the south, it runs for thirty feet before teeing to the east and west. After twenty feet, it splits east.

Soonerdj
2010-03-12, 06:10 PM
Placing her right hand upon the wall and clicking her 10 ft. pole together she walks south, keeping her eyes peeled for any surprises and her pole on the floor in front of her.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-12, 06:27 PM
ok, just out of curiousity are you putting any pressure on the pole,
or are you just holding it in front of you, if poking things and applying pressure,

Just how much pressure?
your full weight/strenght, or just nudging things a bit? (or something in between)

And if so, what are you poking, Floors, Ceilings, walls, All of the above?

Soonerdj
2010-03-12, 06:43 PM
((Walking along bouncing the stick along the ground, uh the best way to describe it would be similar to how a blind person use a cane to find their way around.))

Soonerdj
2010-03-13, 06:18 AM
((To describe the process in more d&d friendly terms)), she walks south down the hallway tapping each square in the next row before proceeding to that row, continuing until she reaches a fork in which case she looks down both ways or a door in which case take 20 on the Search check (20) and uses her detect good ability or hits an obstacle.

as you arive at the first split,
You see the path leads to the east for 10ft before heading north.

Do you wanna continue heading south?

Soonerdj
2010-03-13, 09:13 PM
Coming to the intersection Mylla makes a mental note of it and continues south, tapping each square before entering it. She also holds her pole between the walls trying to get a handle on the size of the hallways.

Do we have to make our own maps or do you show us one? And how wide are the hallways? I'm going to assume 10ft. and make a map based on that.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-14, 04:53 AM
After you peek down to the east
You decide to continue down the hallway,

Right before the T to the east and west.
you seem to have Triggered an Acid Trap,

As you get Hit for
[roll0] Vs Flat footed Touch AC (so anything but a 1.)
[roll1]

you can see the hallway goes west for ten feet before turning south.
To the east, it runs for 40ft before turning north, After 35 feet, there is a door on the north wall, In front of the door on the floor is a shape resembling a bullseye.

Do we have to make our own maps or do you show us one? And how wide are the hallways? I'm going to assume 10ft. and make a map based on that.

I on occasion might show one to people who are very very lost,
but its assumed that if you want a map, you'll make one yourself.

Intresting your the first to think their 10ft wide ,
anyways Hallways are 5ft wide, and 10ft high.

Soonerdj
2010-03-14, 05:10 AM
(Resist Acid 5 so no damage right?)

The spray of acid coating her in singing liquid, Mylla decides to check out previous turns before venturing further. Turning around she takes the first eastern break in the southern hallway tapping all the way.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-14, 05:40 AM
(Resist Acid 5 so no damage right?)
Correct, but the trap triggers regardless of you beeing able to resist it or not :smallwink: (Heck it might Crit)

Wandering back
the path leads to the east for 10ft before heading north.

To the north it goes for 40ft before heading east,
After 20ft it T's East and west,
5ft down the hall is a door on the East side.

Soonerdj
2010-03-14, 05:47 AM
Mylla walks up to the door and takes a very long time searching it (20), if she finds nothing then she sets down the pole, draws her Greataxe, and uses Detect Good.

Stats: HP:12 AC:15

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-14, 06:05 AM
You Detect nothing.

So whats next?

Soonerdj

There is a door at A-2, which you are just outside of, another at E-4,
south side and another at E-3.
There is a human wearing a chain shirt and holding a longsword
standing behind a beast with patchy dark fur that covers its unhealthy shrunken black skin in some places. Open sores dot its hide and a feral,
catlike head glances with it's blank eyes at the wall in front of it.
Roll initiative if you will.

Shaking off a strange feeling of Deja Vu, Mylla takes out her trusty 10ft. pole and opens the door to the hallway.

To cut down on repetitive typing, Mylla will smack the square 10ft. in front of her and then 5ft. before stepping on it and take 20 to search all doors

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-14, 05:49 PM
Excelent to cut down on more repetetive typing any more short cuts?

Like saying you want to go back to where you was in exactly the same way?
Or somewhere else you previously discovered.

or such.

Soonerdj
2010-03-14, 05:52 PM
Going east this time into unexplored territory and stopping at the first door I come to.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-14, 06:00 PM
After you open the door and head east,
20ft to the east (10ft after the north south split) As the floor crumbles below it, Your poking detects a pit.

At the other side of the pit (10ft after it) is the door.

Any suggestions on how to get across it, its 5ft wide.
or wanna go somewhere else?

Soonerdj
2010-03-14, 09:26 PM
Looking at the pit, Mylla takes a few steps back and walks down the south split in the eastern path.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 06:46 AM
as your about to walk south, once more the floor crumbles under your extensive poking.

Add another pit, also 5ft wide.
Soo now what? :/

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 07:30 AM
Running Jump over pit [roll0]

((Apparently forgot to tie shoelaces this morning))

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 09:56 AM
Lol.

Well you obviously fall down said pit. [roll0]

Your in the pit, (its 20ft deep)

Your move.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 10:13 AM
Well First off touch herself back up to max HP, Then climb

Roll Climb
[roll0]

unless of course I can just take 10 out of here

Other wise Grappling Hook UR check
[roll1]
and then take 10 on a climb check out of here

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 10:30 AM
Well you safely climb out.

15ft south, after the initial split, there is a door on the East side.
(or 10ft after the pit if you prefer)

in total it goes 20ft before turning west.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 10:32 AM
Can I eat a ration, wait 8 hours and change 1 of my spells? If not then ok, I go to the door and take 20 searching it.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 11:07 AM
Well your free to try, but in general its not recomended,
as its not really a safe place to try and rest/wait around.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 11:27 AM
((Ahh nevermind then, I'll remember it for the next time I die))

After taking a serious amount of time to check the door, Mylla pulls out her axe and opens the door.

"Ok Spinethirster, here we go."

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 11:49 AM

Depends on your will save,

Beasty Moves to A3,
Guy in chain moves to B2,
As its gesturing wildly you get a odd Dejavu sensation.

Will save again

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 12:17 PM
[Note: I'll start again with the same character, don't think when I finally get this guy that he will remain in one piece]

Will Save
[roll0]

I'm almost willing to bet I get under a 7

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 12:20 PM
You make your save... (Barely)

Your move.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 12:24 PM
With a ferocious yell, Mylla casts Cause Fear to the guy and then 5 foot steps out of LOS from the Color Spray Dude

I've been waiting for this
Roll a Will Save DC 15
On successful save shaken for 1 round
On failed save Frightened for [roll0] rounds

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 12:32 PM
"casts Cause Fear to the guy and then 5 foot steps out of LOS from the Color Spray Dude"

So just for clarification Fear on who? (as in which one is Guy? :smallwink:)
Is Guy Mr. Beasty or the Color spray Dude? (B= Beasty H=Color spray dude)

So i know which one i have to look up.

(and 5ft Step north or south in the hallway.?)

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 12:34 PM
H - He will Fear me or at least be shaken
And I don't have my map up but I take a 5 foot step in the opposite direction from the closest pit. (So either to her left or right)

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 12:57 PM
Ok considering everything is out of line of sight.
(Sneaky Out of line of sight rolling effect)

Your move.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 01:06 PM
She 5 foot steps back into LOS

If the H is farther than 10ft. away then Charge (I believe that is the Distance necessary)

If he is closer or the dog blocks the path than cast Cause Fear on him again, shaken giving him -2 to his saves.

This is also the point where if I had subbed out one of my inflict spells for a Summon Undead 1 I could use him as bait to draw a Color Spray or at least get him in melee.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 01:08 PM
The room looks empty, and the E3 door is open.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 01:12 PM
Moving into the room to square C1, Mylla readies herself to cast Cause Fear the next time that H appears on her LOE.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 01:13 PM
You wait but nothing happens.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 01:18 PM
So now the intermittent dungeon movement phase is going from annoyance to instant death at any moment, Ok I'll bite

Close door at A2, Move to E2

Listen Check

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 01:20 PM

Oi dont look at me, you made it flee :smallwink:

You hear nothing.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 01:27 PM
Yeah, I got a little too into the whole "Fear me whelp" stuff

Needing a small break, Mylla takes one of the bells from her bag and strings some thread through it making a 10 ft. Loop.

She then walks to the door at E3 and tosses the bell through letting it hit the floor and then pulling it back in. She peek tentatively around the corner presuming she doesn't see H then she gets a look around, otherwise she pulls her head back into the room in case he prepared more than one Color Spray this morning.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 01:59 PM
As you peek around the corner you see...

You could've expected that, will save.

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 02:02 PM
[Ahh hrmmm I hate this dude, He really, really needs to die.]

Will Save
[roll0]

Which way does the door swing or was he standing to the side that granted me no cover whatsoever?

Soonerdj
2010-03-15, 02:04 PM
I'm dead, restart this time replacing both my inflict spells with Summon Undead I.
I really don't have to dip into the Incarnum to kill this dude. I'll go until I can kill him.

As far as a fort save

[roll0]

blech I wonder if I have rolled above a 13 for real in combat
Just checked that 13 was the highest I rolled in combat, the highest rolls so far are a 19 for a climb check after a 1 on a jump, a 20 on a crit confirm (i missed), and 12 out of d12 on the crit damage (I didn't crit). So 13.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-15, 02:21 PM
No cover,
and the door doesnt really swing they slide,
And tanaric once upon a time ruled Their either completly open or closed.

So wanted to restart or take the CDG's and hope for the best?
(not much chance without DR tho :/ )

Level 2 is DR/2 +4 to all saves +1 to fort and Will etc etc etc. Unfortunately its no good if all I run into is that color spray guy.

So restart, you can roll if you like be interesting from a numerical standpoint. Changing 2 feats, You can check them if you like.

Feats are Improved Initiative and Force of Personality, Trading away Power Attack and something else that was useless.

Grimacing as the buzz of unwilling teleportation fades, Mylla pulls her pole from the harness on the backpack and opens the door. She heads east tapping to reveal traps and jumping over the ones she does find

Jump [roll0]
Climb [roll1]

When she comes to the first intersection she takes a left, heading north.

For the love of Vecna I hope I don't run into many more save or die guys before I can clean them up.

Calm calm, relax, i havent had a post in my own Char's thread for over three days so far, And i havent even poked the thread, all the DM's here are just running dozens of chars at a time.

Also Im almost the fastest Dm out there even :smalltongue:

Ill get you a post in a bit tho.

Angelic_Dawn

Alrighty..

As You head north for 20ft along the hallway you take a turn to the east for 10ft before turning back north again for another 10ft before ariving at a split to the East and West.

To West it leads for 30ft before turning north,
at 20ft is a split to the north.

To the East it leads for 50ft before turning South,
At the end of the hallway is a door on the North side,
After 30ft is a door on the south side,
and after 20ft is a split to the north.

Soonerdj
2010-03-16, 07:36 PM
*tap* *tap* *tap*

Mylla walks to the door on the east, taking 20 on her search check. Detecting Good and pulling out her Axe.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-17, 01:32 PM
Just so im on the same page.

Which door? the first one you encounter (the one to the south)
or the last one at the end (The one to the north)

Last one on the end, and barring no result from my extensive search check. I heft my axe and slide open the door.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-17, 01:38 PM
As you start your way to the south, the floor crumbles to reveal a pit after 10ft,

A way to get across, or take a diffrent path if you will.

Soonerdj
2010-03-17, 01:40 PM

As you skip across the pit, the rest of the journy is uneventfull.

You reach the door And Fail to detect anything usefull,

And so decide to slide it open reaveling the following room:
{table]|A_|B_|C_|D_

The room contains a large chest with a note attached to it’s latch.
There are doors at C5, D2 and D1 north.

Soonerdj
2010-03-17, 01:49 PM
Hmm traps I presume

Using the 10ft. pole Mylla pokes all the chests and moves the note off. She picks it up and reads it.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-17, 01:51 PM
its just one chest tho, Its just really really big.
And for now choses not to respond to your poking.

The Note says..
“Greater rewards await the patient man,
but only a fool waits forever.”

Soonerdj
2010-03-17, 01:55 PM
Heeding the note's warning, Mylla walks to D2 and opens the door.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-17, 01:58 PM
As you step out in the hallway you notice

It goes to the north for 10ft before heading west.

Right in front of you (to the east) it leads for 10ft before heading north.

And to the South it goes for 20ft before heading east.

Soonerdj
2010-03-17, 02:01 PM
Head to the North, Tapping along the way.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-22, 09:19 AM
As you arive north and look to the west you see the hall stretches for 30ft before T'ing north and south, Right in front of you is a big bullseye painted on the floor.

Soonerdj
2010-03-22, 11:13 AM
Hrmm hehehe trying to trick me I see! Well I'll see about that. She taps the square thoroughly and then jumps over the square. She then heads to the T to the west and looks down both ways.

[roll0]
Wow she really needs to tie those boot strings

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-22, 11:20 AM
You Trip once more and fall flat on your face on the Bullseye.

Soonerdj
2010-03-22, 11:27 AM
Mylla crawls past the bullseye and sits against the wall, holding her bruised knee. ((cue family guy)). Following that she taps her way to the end of the hall.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-22, 11:40 AM
lol.

When you arive safely at the end of the hallway,

to the north it heads for 10ft before T'ing east and west.

To the south it heads for 20ft before turning West,
Right before the turn is a Big red note hanging on the wall.

Soonerdj
2010-03-22, 11:46 AM
Coming to yet another T Mylla sighs in exasperation "I wonder who the hell made this maze?" and then heads to the north.

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-22, 12:04 PM
To the west it heads for 20ft before turning north.

To the East it also heads for 20ft before turning north,
Spray painted on a Wall 5ft down it says, Tanaric Was Here.

Soonerdj
2010-03-22, 12:21 PM
She flips a gold piece in the air tired of blindly picking her direction. "Ok heads (1) I go left and Tails (2) I go right." Catching the spinning gold piece in the air she slaps it down on the back of her palm. [roll0]

Angelic_Dawn
2010-03-22, 12:28 PM
as you catch the coin, it comes up heads.

Left it is.
As you reach the turn it heads north for 40ft before turning East,
at 20ft is a split to the east,
and another at 10ft. (also to the east)

Soonerdj
2010-03-22, 12:37 PM

Hi, I'm the new assassin DM.

I meant DM.

Hi.

Anyway, you did dodge a lot of doors. For my own information, what rooms have you been in?

The first hallway east ends in a door (yay) after 10', and turns north just before that.
