For the last week I've been getting this message every few minutes whenever I try to submit or preview. Does it whether just editing a post or making a new one. I push the back button on the browser and then resubmit and works fine.... until next post.

Make that every other if not 'every' post now. This is beginning to get annoying.

Sure have. Do you think it's just my comp doing it?

Generally, this error is caused on the user or ISP (through an ISP cache) end. What browser are you using and have you tried a different one?

Firefox currently, let me try Opera for a time and see what occurs.

I've been getting similar glitches at BG and Myth-Weavers. I think it might be a bug in the new version of Firefox.

Same wording and everything?

Could it be some kind of lynx type problem, certain words being rejected?

It's a Firefox problem. I've only ever gotten the error on version 3.6, and it's temporarily resolved by hitting back and trying again.

It's annoying, but Mozilla is probably working on figuring out what's causing it for the next update. Apparently, the browser's dropping the security tokens on occasion.

I just started getting it today myself. Twice in the last fifteen minutes. And apparently all because I updated firefox, eh?

(As I did that at lunch today, updating firefox, that is)

I knew there was a reason I liked to wait on doing it.

Knew I should've updated whilst it was still version 3.5... Needless to say, I'll wait a while longer before updating Firefox (until I have some indication it can post on the net without dropping the ball quite like that).

Nah. A forum Security Token would be more like a special cookie used to verify a submission is coming from the proper user without exposing the user’s password to potential attacks.

Oh? And what is it you use?

As for me, I have 3.6 and have been experiencing no problems.

It's all about Google chrome, but what browser we prefer has nothing to do with solving Vorpal's problem, so we should probably stop with that.

I don't have anything to say, but atm it seems I can't post at all, got this message:

You don't have permission to access /forums/newreply.php on this server.

Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server at www.giantitp.com Port 80

Got no idea what it means, but I figured I'd try to post something else, somewhere else, to see if it was just a local problem...

EDIT: And here, it works... Might be some trouble with my pictures then. Disregard this until further notice.

EDIT^2: Nope, didn't work if I did away with the pictures either. Hmm...

Did your post happen to have the word lynx in it? And if it did, was there a space after it?

Yea, thanks... Stupid computers, does not get when I'm talking about animals and when I'm playing 'l33t hax00r'.

Yea, I've seen it a couple of times myself, but I've not thought so much about it, since I rarely use lynx in a sentence.

Anyway, thanks again. I'll stop spamming the thread now :smallwink:

Oh wow... there are still people out there that prefer IE over foxy?

To each his own, I guess. Though it certainly looks like my laziness has paid of, for once  Seems like not updating FF right away has been a good move. I'll just wait a little longer, so I can be sure the glitch has been fixed.

And that's why I rarely update Firefox.:smalltongue:

Even though clicking away the update windows can be annoying when they pop up.

That's what I use. Mostly because I use a netbook most of the time and the low profile of Chrome's address/bookmark bar at the top is an attractive feature when you're working with limited screen space.

UPDATE: The current build, Firefox 3.6.2, appears to have fixed the problem.

I get the same message whenever I try to edit posts from work, where I'm using IE8.

At home I use Chrome, and that's fine.
