As the title. What is it, where is it, and what does it do? I have heard it mentioned a few times, but never actually seen it.

I know someone will beat me too it, but here's what I found. Apparently it is in Dragon Magazine 311, but the only thing I could find that it does is give the templated creature "maximum hit-points", I assume it means for Hit Dice. Hope that helps!

EDIT: Hm, that might not even be what it does to be honest. I was looking at a feat called "Superior Summons" which applies the Champion template to summoned things, it also listed that effect, but that may not be related to the template.

With some alternative reading, you could assume it gives you infinate HP, because of epic, thats the second thing I thought.

I just went through all of Dragon 311, I didn't find it in there anywhere. I checked the Dragondex (http://www.aeolia.net/dragondex/), found the word 'champion' all over the place but it was almost entirely in either a prestige class description or for a D&D variant champions game from 1980s issues. There is no Champion template on WotC's 3.5 monster index (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/lists) and it's nowhere in Crystalkeep's Template document (http://crystalkeep.com/d20/) (I even checked the 3.0 templates there). If this template even exists, it's probably from some third-party source.

It's not a creature template- it's a spell template- the creature itself gains no new template.

Just maximum hit points, if the spell used to summon the creature, is a templated spell.

Right. It is in the Dragon Compendium.

Here- the poster appears to have gotten the impression that it's a creature template.

And I was pointing out a source for those who wanted to look it up. :smallwink:
