In a second edition Greyhawk game, I'm playing as a bard who worships Murlynd as his diety. Is there anything that I can use as a source material for stories about him to make into songs? Something that could be used to make something of a western-folk-hero song.

I'm planing on attracting enough worshipers to make him upgrade from Hero-Deity to Demigod

The hero-deity Murlynd was also paladin of Heironeous, and his order of White Paladins is actually part of Heironeous's ecclesiastical hierarchy.

He has the strange habit to introduce himself with the sentence: "Greetings, traveler. I am Murlynd. That's m-u-r-l-y-n-d and not Merlin."

What is known [about origin] is that he aided Zagyg in imprisoning Iuz beneath Castle Greyhawk, which has earned him an enemy in the Old One for life. At some point, Murlynd was sponsored to godhood by Heironeous. He is also known to be an ally of Celestian, Phaulkon, and several hero-deities.

He is a Paladin/Mage.

How about a little ditty about Murlynd and Mystra's spoon?

...As in spooning.

Useful, but not quite what I'm looking for. I was looking more for a source for stories of his great deeds. I mean, what did he do as an adventurer to make him a hero deity.

Well, that hasn't happened in our game yet. Iuz is still out and about running his empire. Unless I'm missing something and that happened before the Greyhawk Wars, which I think in the timeframe would be an inappropriate story to tell and gather followers ("If he's so great and imprisoned Iuz, then where is he now when we need him?")

The short answer would be - what you've read in the posts here is about as much as you're likely to find.

Which means you have lots of creative wiggle room.
