I am considering playing a Wild shape ranger, but other than Master of the many forms is there another way to advance the wildshape?

Also can wildshape rangers enter Planar Sheepherd?

There is nature's warrior from complete warrior, which gives 5/5 advancement on wildshape and it also gives bonuses to the forms.

A Wild Shape Ranger 5/ Master of Many Forms 7 will get pretty much every form you need. Maybe grab one level in Nature's Warrior for Nature's Weapons only if you can't get an Amulet of Mighty Fists with a Wilding Clasp. Otherwise just grab three to five levels in Warshaper for some spectacular bonuses and then finish out MoMF. You'd only need more Wild Shape advancement if you're starting in the epic levels, in which case you'd be best off making a full spellcaster with Persistent Shapechange.

If I play this one it will start at level 10 so WS rgr/MotMF is a good option.

If you take a rouge rogue thief level, you can get into Daggerspell Shaper. That'll allow you to apply enchantments that are on your weapons (RAW, daggers only, but your DM may allow a refluff)to your claws.

Also can wildshape rangers enter Planar Sheepherd? No.

Certain clerics, obviously druids, divine bards, Favored Souls, Shamans, and even sorcerers/BMs (though they won't advance casting) can get in.

Poor rangers seem left out though I can't help thinking there may be a way.

Why not? IIRC planar shepherd only requires spellcasting and wildshape, or am I wrong?

The prereq feat (Greensinger/Nightbringer Initiate) requires the ability to spontaneously cast Summon Nature's Ally.
