Hi people! I was just minding my business today when I remembered once encountering one very odd rule system for 3.5. In this "campaign setting" the players took the roles of NATIONS instead of single characters.
Now as I think about it, the idea sounds nice as my group needs a bit change for our new campaing.
Does anyone remember this little oddly ball of 3,5 rules?

would you be thinking of about all rpgs before the late 70s?

Unfortunately not, something specific for 3,5.
I know it sounds silly, I just simply can't get it off my mind.

Well, um... that's not really 3.5e. Or D&D, really. If you want to play as nations, you should use some sort of wargame.

Hmmm, I remember something about in the DMG2 that might help you there.
The catch is that you don't actually play a antion but something as an organization.
Its Dungeon Master Guide PG 223 here starts explaining how it may be to play as a member of an organization. but maybe you can tailor it into something you like.

If you want to play a nation/organization, there's a pretty decent system for that, it's called Reign.
