Define regen do you mean regrow limbs?
Yes regeneration,

Do you mean simply heal damage every round, well yeah there are plenty of spells that grant fast healing.

Do you mean regeneration like a Troll regenerates, aside from something like Shapechange not that I'm aware of.

Monstrous Regeneration, Magic of Faerun, page 109, is possibly what you're looking for. Spell Compendium says it's reprinted as Greater Vigor... and seriously nerfs the spell, as it turns it into Fast Healing, rather than regeneration.

perhaps he means that one effect where water falls from the sky in discrete droplets?

Only spell that grants Regeneration ability (subdual damage from lethal) is Trollshape or Shapechange in 3.5.

 was my first thought too (regen = rain in german)

Well going off Final Fantasy it could be a spell that gives a percentage of their hp over time...

5% of the targets max hp to them over [1 Round/Caster level] +1. How about that?

Higher level spell would be 10%, then 15% and maybe even 20%

Evard: Wouldn't that be more like Vigor spells?
Lesser Vigor gives 1 hp/rd, Vigor gives 3/rd, etc.

I think Evard means that its not temp hp but actual healing. This spell would give a percentage based on the targets max hp.

Isn't vigor a psionic power? http://http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/Vigor.htm

Yes it is, but no one was talking about it.

He's talking about vigor, the spell from spell compendium.

No, that is the Psionic power. The spell grants fast heal.

Look, here is the NWN 2 version: http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Lesser_Vigor

It works just like the D&D version.

There's two off the top of my head: The PHB spell, (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/regenerate.htm) and the Trollshape spell from PH2.

figures i would overlook a PHB spell. regenerate does it pretty much perfectly.
thanks.

Does Trollshape give you regeneration?

Yes, Trollshape gives you Troll Regeneration. Meaning it grants better than the PHB spell (which only lets you regrow limbs).

Drawback, you become the creature (in regards to abilities) so no class features while transformed into a troll (although most of the form spells allow spellcasting I'm not sure if troll does).

It allows some class features IIRC, but specifically prevents Spellcasting.

Could you cast rope trick, and cast Trollshape and sleep away inside? Or would Trollshape end the spell?

It would prevent further casting not prior.

So you can't cast Trollshape then try to cast Rope trick.

Lesser Vigor gives 1 hp/rd, Vigor gives 3/rd, etc.

actually vigor is 2/rd, greater vigor is 3/rd

Regen means rain too in Dutch. In which case it will be Control Weather.
