I need a bit of help guys. What is a low noise amplifier, and what is it look like? How big is it? do you have any picture of it?

there are some ready-use LNA sold right? Hm, I wonder. I asked my nearest electronic-equipment store that sells PCB and stuffs like that, but they don't have it.

I can't recommend any stores, as I only dabble, and not having the disposable income I end up cannibalizing other equipment. I recommend going out on garbage night in your neighborhood, and see if there's anything good left out. Often when one piece goes, an entire unit is tossed...

You could always get in touch with your local component supplier.

In the UK we have Maplin (www.maplin.co.uk), which may not be all that useful to you in the 'States (although the catalogue usually has some data sheets.

Likewise, RS should be some help (but I don't know thier details, alas).

you do get them for TV's, right? i did a quick search and found this:

Id think stores who sells TVs and satelite dishes and receivers could have some type of these too, for amplifying signals to TVs.

This begs the question, what do you need a LNA for?
