Greetings all! I bought a ukulele today! Does anyone else play? What kind?

I got a Cordoba 10CM, a concert size ukulele made into a starter kit for someone who had never played before (bag, tuning pipe, book, etc). I love it so far. Easily as much fun as guitar, and since I've been playing guitar for 3 years now picking up the chords is really easy.

Anyone else?

Well, one time I picked up one in a gift shop in Hawaii, and tried to figure out the tunings of the strings by ear. In a few minutes I was playing Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne, impressing other customers and the shop owner.

A while later, my little brother bought a cheap one on an impulse, and got bored of it. I bought a how-to guide for Uke, and spent some time familiarizing myself with the "proper" chords.

I have a couple of friends who play ukulele, so I've come to appreciate it much more than before.

One example: "Don't Dream It's Over" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKkGCzEBsfk) cover (my friend Ricky is on the right). Definitely look at the related videos with Uni in them (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC1og49c0c8) as well.

Another cool song: "I Heart You Online" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vVdWHADKto) (I wish I knew them!)

And my other ukulele playing friend Autumn with her song "Cat People" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8aftYZZxE4) (song starts at 1:40).

I have been playing ukulele for..wow three years. I also picked mine up in a cheesy gift shop, and I also ended up playing in that same day. (I payed for the cost sitting on the beach playing) Guitar lessons do help, and now I rarely play my uke. I do bring it out at parties some times though, it's one of those insturments that alot of people think only Hawaians play, so it draws a few "Are you from Hawaii?"s

I own one, but I don't play it beyond stumming. My girlfriend's old housemate is actually pretty good at it.

They're ridiculously common in my university because there's a shop opposite the nearest pub that sells them. Seems like 1 in 5 students own one, whether they can play it or not. They're everywhere.

I've had one for ages, but have only really played properly for about a year. A bunch of guys at my school have them, and we do a uke song at an annual concert. It's kinda fun.

My dad and his wife play. he's trying to get me to visit him while a ukulele festival is on in cairns so we can all go.
I didn't inherit a bit of my dad's musical talent, my little brother got all that.

A ukulele, huh? That's pretty cool. Haley loves those, or so I've heard.

The only instrument I'm any good at is the mp3 player. That's right, I can hit the "play" button. Fun stuff...

Cool, I hear Haley loves Ukuleles. Has someone used that joke already?
