Well kinda appropriate answer - no love for the penguin :D. BUt hey Dwarf fortress and ADOM have linux versions.

It's not exactly an RPG, but Planeshift (http://www.planeshift.it/) is a free, open source MMO with a Linux client. Similar to most MMO's, there are quests, stat building, etc. The impetus behind this game was an MMO where people actually interacted with one another, though. Very friendly user base. Worth checking out, though I could never bring myself to keep at it.

There's always Battle for Wesnoth :smallbiggrin:
