Hikaru notices Roland's expression and just for a moment locks eyes with him.

Dare leaves off his mumbling to give Jake his full attention, not smiling, but neither showing signs of being intimidated. He tilts his head slightly to show his understanding, then goes back to his planning, summoning his mask again as he does so.

Roland nods to Hikaru behind Jake's back. He says nothing of course. To reach into Hikaru's mind without premission would be an unforgivable sin. There is no need anyway, the grim set of his face says it all.
