Since I see a few topics about avatars in here, I was thinking of making an avatar all of my own. However, I dunno where to host the image, does anyone have any suggestions?

Photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) and imageshack (http://imageshack.us/) are probably two most known and familiar, but there are more. I'm sure others will know better.

After trying to make my own avatar, I'm just not all that good at doing so it seems, since Photoshop angered me by screwing up all my layers and thus I don't feel like trying to mess with this anymore. So, in lieu of my reply topic change, who can I enlist to make me an avatar in their spare time? I'll PM the avatar details to whoever is willing to help...I dunno how to compensate for your services though...open to suggestions.

You want to go here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122056), in that case.

Alternatively, try Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/). Is free and supposedly good for drawing avatars. I say supposedly because I haven't tried it yet, but many people around here love it.

When I'm looking to get an avatar made, I just go to the A&C subforum, browse around for a bit until I find someone with a style I like, then PM them. Alternatively, you can just find someone with an avatar you like, look in their sig and find out who made it, and shoot them a PM. However, there are plenty of avatarists who don't take requests anymore who still have avvies in use.

While I'm sure avatarists would love some form of monetary compensation, your gratitude and a mention in your sig is sufficient. :smalltongue:
