View Full Version : Fallout 2, weird bug issue

Okay, I've been playing Fallout 2.
I went to New Reno where all those crime bosses are. I went upstairs to this one place and talked to this lady.
Now, we teleported to her room, but my 2 minions: Sulik and K-9 did not.

I assumed they downstairs, so I fought/saved/ventured down.

I still heard Sulik (he was overloaded with stuff), but he no where aroynd (neither was K-9 but he never complains).

Short story: I keep going got the M scientist D&D player. He comments as if Sulik still there.
So the game isn't registering Sulik dead, but is not making him appear.

Then I got Marcus who also acts like Sulik still here. As did Goris.

Has anyone had this issue? I feel like I drew Sulik and K-9 drew the imprisonment card from a deck of many things. They are still part of the party, but they aren't here.

I've already returned to my hometown (so next job is taking out the enclave).
But if I play again, what could have caused this bug?
How would one fix it?

There's a bug that makes your teammates disappear when you "deal" with either Mrs Bishop or Angela Bishop. Next time, just ask them politely to leave your party (preferrably somewhere outside Bishop's casino in case things get hairy so you can get back for them) before entering into any... short relationships with the Bishops.

And preferrably don't park a car in Raiders location or in San Francisco; it may disappear as well (and that was not intended)

Yeah, Bishops screw you over in more than one way.

It's a pretty well known bug. Check out NoMutantsAllowed, I think there's an unofficial patch that deals with this.

I've also been having some problems. I'm unsure if this is intended, but the Navarro base isn't appearing on my worldmap before I have the quest to go there. I recall it being there constantly, but I might be wrong.

Wait, I think Sulik had the FOB...meaning I can't beat the game.
Gah, I really wanted to beat it.

For the record, having a bug issue in Fallout 2 is never weird.

Sorry, but...

FOB?

Which item is that again?

I might know a workaround.

The key to the door in the lower floor of the tanker.

You're thinking about drug induced stupidity, right?

To use the ship at San Fran you need a FOB to open the door. You can't use lockpicking skill at the door to my knowledge (it said that did nothing).

I could try dynamite, but it is a metal door so I'm not sure if that will work.

Yup.

Avoids a lot of pointless hassle.

This is unfortunately all too true. Its always a good idea to install the fan "fix all the bugs but doesn't change the game" patchs when running FO 1 or 2.
