Let me make a cantrip for you! Describe a power, general purpose, or dilemma to solve that you think is in level 0 territory and I'll try to make something up.

Simple enough:

Knot

Close: (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One rope, string, or similar object
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: No
Spell Resistance: No

You cause an unattended rope or rope in the possession of a willing owner to tie itself. This spell can automatically tie any knot achievable by a DC10 use rope check. Tying a more difficult knot is possible but requires a normal use rope check, but usable at a range. This spell can only bind helpless subjects.

Isn't there a spell that lets you see through the "eyes" of an undead. Becouse that combo would be just awsome.

Target: One dead insect or arachnid
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None

As animate dead, except you may only animate a single dead insect or arachnid of diminutive or fine size into an exoskeleton (treat as a skeleton) that follows your spoken commands. Only creatures of 1HD or less can be animated, and count as a 1HD creature for determining the number of undead creatures you can control at one time. Unlike normal skeletons winged insects created with this spell may retain the ability to fly but are reduced to clumsy maneuverability.

Material
You must cover the insect to be animated with powdered onyx costing 1gp

It is, but I'll try to make a spell that improves on the soil 1 cube of material per round limitation of presdigitaton:

Effect: 15-ft radius circle of dust

You coat the ground in a 15ft-radius circle with a fine layer of dust. The total amount created is very small - if collected it would easily fit in a closed fist. Creatures walking across the dust will leave footprints. If cast on an area already occupied by a creature or object it will create dust on the ground beneath them unless they are attached to the ground or partially buried, in which case it will only create dust around them.

Create an illusion of a pen that is the right size for a pixie.

Any small object can be simulated such as jewelry, a pen, a glove, a dagger, etc. You may move the object and manipulate it, but if it leaves your hand it instantly vanishes. Two castings of this spell can function simultaneously for the same creature, each instance applying to a different hand.

Folding a bedsheet is within prestidigitation's power, but I'll try to make something that'll let you fold lot of bedsheets at once (and do some other stuff too):

To cast this spell you must have prestidigitation already active. You channel additional power to your prestidigitation spell, allowing you to simultaneously perform several tricks within prestidigitation's power. You can perform one separate simultaneous effect per caster level. The effects are simultaneous, not cumulative, so a level ten caster could lift ten objects simultaneously but not move one object ten times as far. The tricks need not all be the same, so you could heat some, lift others, colors others, and perform other effects simultaneously.

Sure. This covers druid territory a bit, so I gave druids the spell as an orison. The druid version can also accomplish a bit more.

If used on a healthy plant it provides one day's worth of nutrients, allowing it to endure a lack of water, soil and sunlight without harm. If cast daily it allows a plant to thrive in adverse conditions indefinitely. When cast as a divine spell restore plant can also heal a plant creature of 1 point of damage, but the arcane version cannot affect plant creatures.

That transcribe spell is cool. Definitely should be permanency-able.

#2 is achievable with prestidigitation. Just flavor and color water.

#3 is a little powerful for a cantrip, but I'll make something within its domain:

Fair enough. It can make water look and taste like juice, but it won't be juice or have any nutritional value besides that of water. Here's a better version:

A major wish may require an immense amount of time or effort to achieve, and the clue received only points the caster to the right path rather than guiding them step by step.

You carefully craft gold, diamond, platinum, mithril, and other rare components into a pair of metallic wings that can be strapped to a person's shoulders. You must succeed on a DC20 craft (metalworking) check to create the wings over 4d12 days.

Once the spell is cast the wings become a magic item that allow their wearer to fly at a speed of 40 feet (30 feet if wearing medium or heavy armor, or if carrying a medium or heavy load) with good maneuverability. When using the wings for long-distance movement, you can hustle without taking nonlethal damage (a forced march still requires Constitution checks). This means you can cover 64 miles in an eight-hour period of flight (or 48 miles at a speed of 30 feet).

As a magic item the enchantment on the wings cannot be permanently dispelled. Both wings must be worn to have any effect. 10d10 hours after the spell is cast the wings crumble into worthless ash.

A Hand of Shade is weak and thin, allowing objects and creatures to pass through it on a successful DC 5 Str check. If an opponent intentionally tries to disrupt it with an attack, you must succeed on a concentration check or lose the spell.

Hand of Shade shares all the same vulnerabilties as an Interposing Hand does, in addition to those listed here.

This spell also allows subjects with light sensitivity to endure daylight without harm. Shades also allows subjects with down to a minimum of 4HD to look at a prismatic wall without being blinded.

Animate Insect: its creative but it doesnt worth a HD, a caster only have one so simply remove :This insect dont count into control of undead which create through Animate Dead or something similar...
However, can you create a similar one with mammals (maybe up to rat) or birds(fly?),fish or reptiles (i dont know there are more:smallbiggrin:)?
Instant Alcohol: more cast shouldnt stack. (for example: wine of 2008 and a wine from age of Napoleon, they arent the same)
Golden Wings: its okay it cost 10000 gp and 1000 Xp but i think is not balanced i dont mean overpowered but its not so valuable to be a cantrip i mean other cantrip which you create (and they are superb and nimble) doesnt have so much cost its only worsen that line, i think, its not belong to this nice line.

Thanks! I figure animate insect is for a caster who can't cast animate dead yet, and so has nothing to else to use their HD of controllable dead for yet. Or they don't need to control anything more powerful. The insect could still be useful as a distraction, or to perform simple errands.

While instant alcohol ferments the wine quickly, it doesn't necessarily make it good. The quality of the ingredients still makes a difference. There are plenty of wines that just become vinegar after a while instead of aging gracefully.

I agree that golden wings isn't that good a spell, but the challenge was to make a spell with a high gp and xp cost. But it could be a last resort method that someone with minimal spellcasting can fly for an extended period of time, if absolutely necessary.

How about some sort of buff spell that moves simple obstacles out of your way that you could otherwise move with your hands, for example, if you walk up to an unlocked door with the spell on, it would automatically open itself for you, leaving you ready to cast something into the room beyond. Prickly thorns and such would blow out of your path as if by a small breeze. Etcetera. Thanks!

thats why not to count into control undead which use more useable and combat orientated than an animated insect.
im convinced about wines but not about goldenwing (but we have similar view) which too unbalanced.


Now give it to a vampire... A vampire become dust except in two area of large palm size... amusing

Open/Close is already a cantrip and it only opens one door as a standard action. A buff at the same level will require a material cost to make up for the additional power:

I think this spell is actually really damn cool. Would be very thematic for a spellcaster with a pet snake, and being able to get scent for brief periods could be handy.

You see the world through the senses of a touched snake, using its eyes, ears, and sense of smell rather than your own. You retain your own sense of touch. You use the snake's spot and listen checks rather than your own, and can smell the world using its scent ability. You must maintain direct skin contact with the snake or the spell ends.

This spell does not grant you any special control over the snake, and unless tame it may attack you or attempt to escape. A snake always attempts to make its will save against snake eyes unless it is tame and feels comfortable in your grasp, or has been convinced to comply through a spell like speak with animals. A snake serving as an animal companion always permits its master to cast this spell on it. A snake serving as a familiar can only have this spell cast on them by its master.

Since your senses are slightly displaced with respect to your body it becomes difficult to react to outside events, and although you can move you are denied your dexterity bonus to AC while using the snake's senses. You cannot avoid harmful effects based on sight or sound, such as a gaze attack or a suggestion spell, just because you are using the snake's senses instead of your own. Phantasms and other effects that are only in your mind are still seen through the snake's vision. You can however use the snake's senses as a way around being blinded or deafened.

Focus
A bracelet or anklet made of shed snake skin that must be worn by the caster for the spell's duration. If it is removed the spell ends.

A cantrip that you would draw, make a spell craft check when drawing it (takes a while to draw it right), then it provides a set bonus to future spell craft checks and for the purposes of research. Maybe decreases the research time it takes by calculating arcane fluxes and whatnot.

Fingernails and toenails can be trimmed and colored as well.

Tying a more difficult knot is possible but requires a normal use rope check, but usable at a range. This spell can only bind helpless subjects.

I think I'd add Druid and Ranger to this one.

I was looking for a cantrip/orison to do something akin to Ghost Lantern (Complete Mage @ 106), but that would only work for you. That is, the light you produce would only shine for you. Here's what I came up with. Can you help me make this better?

how about a cantrip which comes up with names for things (it'd help people like me a lot). like naming pets, for example.

a cantrip to remind you of upcoming events (birthdays, anniversaries, major holidays, etc.).

a cantrip which tells you random information when cast ("there are 31,536,000 seconds in a year"). it basicly spouts random factoids for the duration.

a cantrip that attracts/fascinates cats (in a strictly non-harmful way) ends instantly if you intend to harm the attracted/fascinated subject.

a cantrip to help someone read books more quickly (or gives a basic synopsis of the book and it's characters). helpful for exams and trivia from learned people.

a cantrip to tell how tall something/someone is, exactly.

a cantrip to organize your posessions (your backpack and the like), limited to objects under 1 lb.

and finally (for now), a cantrip that insults people that come into range.
