No, no, no, it's a gunblade. Gunblades don't actually fire rounds, it just uses the "gun" part to create vibrations that enhance the cutting power of the sword. This one's designed to create a rapid stream of vibrations that enhances the cutting power exponentially. You can still fire enormous lasers from a gunblade- that's different.

A bunch more along similar lines as my last. Again, hopefully no repeats, varying level of cheesecakeyness and not, and a couple non-girls mixed in. Hopefully good, and hopefully none of them will mysteriously disappear from the hosting.

Wingphile away! Or should that be something more like pennaephile? alarumophile?

Edit: There is very little decent armour on show here, but a fair lot of them are relatively decently clothed at least....others, not so much.

There was a bunch of pictures that I wanted to put up, from luis ryo, valejo and others, but it seems like they generally had nipples showing somewhere, or a bare ass, etc. I'm less sure if some of these ones are ok:
The general rule is, if you're not sure, don't, but I don't see any problems with those.

On the other hand, your host site has plenty of ads featuring topless girls, which could get you in trouble. You should link to the image directly instead of to the site's page on them, to avoid those ads. Or just include the images directly in spoilers.

Err, that first image looks like a decent top except that it has a boob-hole.

Is there a better word for that?

It looks like his characters live in a world where the armorers only make chainmail bikinis but the characters themselves choose to wear shirts and pants so that the armor isn't completely revealling.

Uh, dude---that page has a lot of NSFW ad banners. Just a heads up.

Thanks, someone just earlier pointed it out too. =/ Forget there was that earlier post with tons of pictures that used imagebam too...ugh.

Anyway! I took out the pictures from the previous posts, think those two are the only ones, and put all the pictures, and a couple others, up onto imageshack. Thumbnail system sucks, but no NSFW banners, I trust.

that's good- as long as AslanCross deletes the link in his quote as well, should be OK.

Serpentine

Though it's completely impractical for fighting in. :smallwink:Not really, or at least not necessarily. I originally looked for one from Gallery Serpentine which is advertised as a "movement corset", for dancing in. Unfortunately I couldn't just post the image. Here's the product (http://www.galleryserpentine.com.au/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=652), anyway.
Also, corsets don't have to be made out of super-stiff material, nor do they have to be worn very tight. Basically, that outfit isn't very good armour, but then it probably isn't meant to be and I think it's a fine fantasy costume *shrug*

For unarmored fighting, it doesn't seem to be obstructive.
Of course, if made of plate, it's far worth than real plate armor.

It is that; I don't disagree. In fact, constrained torso movement isn't critical to some fighting styles; I used to reenact late Roman legionary combat and lorica segmentata is extremely constraining (though not tight on you like a corset is), but it doesn't matter because at the end of the day the Roman military style is all about the shield wall.

That said, presently I fence heavy rapier in the round, which is similar to what she is evidently armed for, and anything that prevents me from making a body void is something I don't want on my person when fighting. My girlfriend loves her corsetry and also fences, but doesn't combine the two for the same reason. *Shrug* Anyway, I suppose it all depends on fighting style, but in general an unarmored combatant wants to be as mobile as possible.

I disagree; if you look how the four front ones are attached they split just below the hip. It looks to me like the other four is basically "two per cheek", probably also splitting a few inches out, so to speak so you only have to have room for four tentacles total, and that you do have room for.

Disturbed because it was attractive? Or disturbed because it was repulsive?

Imagine you are laying on a beach, watching the water, and you see her slowly emerge.

At first, you see a very attractive woman. Hair, eyes, the entire head, shoulders, torsoo- hello! naked!, down to the hips ohmigaud, she's got tentacles!

I have a thing about tentacles.

It's not a fetish.

If anything, it's an anti-fetish.

Given that it is normal for people to mentally undress and fantasize about potential partners, especially attractive ones, I go from "hey, hotness!" to "gez-gah! NO!" is about 0.0015 seconds flat.

Juxaposing this is the fact that all I have to do is look up, and I am reminded that she is half a very attractive woman, and I have a this barrage of conflicting emotionally impulses.

So do answer your question, take a good look at her yourself, and then ask yourself: "Do you want to mate with her?"

I always took dragons as shape-changing for that.

And nymphs aren't so bad.

But dryads... knot good. Splinters.

Edit: Sorry, had to add the pun.

Actually I was thinking about the "reproduction compatiblity chart" in BoEF. Dragons and Nymphs are the only creatures with "Yes" to all other creatures in the chart (humans, at least, only do it with 3/4 of the total)

EDIT: At least it's not six-armed, I don't think I could legally say that on here. :smalleek:

I actually see 8 of them.

If you look from left to right:

#1 The one bent in front, "upper left"
#2 The one hanging down towards the seabed
#3 The one next to #1, in front
#4 Only visible as a small piece of shadow between #1 and #3
#5 The one in the center, starting behind #3
#6 The one next to #5
#7 The one starting behind #6, bent upwards in an arch
#8 The one furthest in the back

Edit: I must say after looking at the art from actual game modules in this thread, I think it is obvious that WotC needs higher budget for artists. They are all of much worse quality than most things posted by third-party / amateur artists.

Reduntant wording is redundant. Anyway, are they still using the same artists that illustrated D&D back in the 80ies? Or are they genetically breeding artists that draw in the same style?

The artist is Rebecca Guay. She does a lot of work for Magic: the Gathering, and would occasionally show up in D&D manuals, mostly in the years surrounding the update to 3.5. I love her work to death, and collect Magic cards she illustrates.

Naturally, I would be glad to do an image-dump of her work.

I've noticed that pics that look like they're by her rarely have a name credit next to them in the books.

And the 3.0 mermaid pic, which had a name credit next to it in the 3.0 MM, didn't have a name next to it in the 3.5 MM.

As for the armor-that-isn't-really: yeah... I restate that it is not the most functional set of gear I've ever seen, but what keeps it from being truly stripperific is the fact that she opted to wear stuff under the scale tunic. Otherwise, I'd have never posted the thing. Few things in fantasy art infuriates me more than the hybridization of fan service and armor. If you are going to be eye candy, wear something soft and/or sheer. If you are going into battle, wear something that will actually keep your vitals intact. How are more people NOT annoyed by the thoughtless, shallow mockery of both styles of adornment? [/rant]

I can understand the requirement not to show any of the private parts but everything up to that seems to be okay (kind of arbitrary though). It makes sense in that it's the sort of artwork you get away with showing in public and since the forum is open to kids younger than 18 I fully understand that but I feel the SFW tag is personally inaccurate. Despite the lack of nipples I'd never really dare to get caught looking at a thread about nothing but scantly clad women at work. Not because I think I'd get fired but because it's in public. Scantly clad women or even more explicit than that as illustration with an article or something is okay but when it's nothing but that it gets a little embarrassing.

"Surely it is only the benevolence of the Silver Flame that allows children to live in such a place," Marcus said.

Petra sighed. "That, and foolish priests who don't realize they're being robbed."

Given that the description of the Gorgons varied even at the time, this isn't necessarily wrong at all.

Because the other Gorgons were at the very least immortal. They might also have had wings, claws and tusks.

DnD 'Medusas' do not have wings, or tusks, and claws would be pushing it. They also, to my knowledge, aren't immortal. In that sense, they much more closely resemble depictions of The Medusa. Also, to my knowledge, it was only Medusa herself of the three that could petrify with a glance, a key trait of the DnD monster.

Simply put, the name isn't wrong, because they are a species named for the Gorgon Medusa whom they take after in appearance and traits. Perhaps it would be a flavourful addition to give them an ancestor myth revolving around the progenitor of their species, who was originally something else but was cursed with her form and her powers by vengeful gods.

The same gods eventually pitted a warrior against her so as to destroy her utterly, but the drops of blood spilled as he cut off her head turned into snakes and escaped. Those snakes in time became the children of a new race, in her image alone. Hateful towards (mankind) and resentful of the gods who perpetrated these injustices and cruelties on their Mother, this is what fuels the Medusas' fierce and merciless attitude to outsiders.

Hmm?

Since all mythology is based on interpretations of natural phenomena or revisions of history, I have a theory that the whole Poseidon-Medusa myth was started because a priest of Poseidon raped a priestress of Athena. The priestess of Athena was named Medusa and she was well known for being beautiful and had lots of curls in her hair.

It wouldn't be hard to further extrapolate that the priest disfiguring Medusa during or after the rape. As a disfigured, ugly priestess, Medusa's face could have shocked and horrified anyone who looked at it, especially if they remembered how beautiful she was. One story about how Athena punished her own priestess by sleeping with Poseidon, and you have the political backing to declare the temple of Athena desecrated, allowing the priest of Poseidon the opportunity to take it over.

If by first generation you mean Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, etc., than yes. But then, they were gods. Gods could have sex with other gods and there was no danger of incest*. Gods could change shape and played with mortals in ways that make our SIM characters enjoy a virtual heaven (even after the ladder is deleted from the swimming pool after they're in it).

(* Or was there? Could Hephaestus be the Greek lesson warning about incest?)

Of the "second-generation", the only rejoiner I have is Heracles, who wasn't a sex offender, but took at least one woman back as a trophy to be his slave. Other than that... your recollection seems solid.

Anywho, here's some Star Wars shots:

Nice.

Where do I sign up?

An attractive dwarf? Blasphemy! Good thing the beard is optional, I guess.

You have never played Dragon Age I presume? Dwarven women can be downright hawt there.

Far more interesting that way IMHO. From what I've read, I'm not the only one who feels that way. Though of course, many mythological creatures don't even use clothes...

Speaking of which, here's a very beautiful Earth Nymph:

Look again; They are motivational recruitment posters.

That's not a Tie Pilot at all, it's a glamour model, a pin-up. The 'Snow Trooper' just happens to have a more revealing costume for that photoshoot.
Everybody knows the Emperor is an alien hating misogynist, there's no girls in the imperial army. :smallwink:

Still, does wonders for recruitment!
