When I run games now I don't make anywhere near as many notes as I used to. I've just started improvising all the time. It's really good but occasionally it gets me into trouble.

There was one time when a player decided to campaign for the Minister for Law position and start up his political campaign...

He wanted to start by bullying about a church minister for his vote. So we did that scene. Then he wanted to visit a politician and bully him about for his vote.

But I said no, "we're not going to do a session where you just visit people and do the same thing over and over because it would be boring. Your political opponent awaits at the debate hall to decide who gets the job once and for all."

So we did the big debate and the player won and was made Minister for Law.

I wanted to make that ambition harder to fulfill... but nevermind.

Then there's the Big Situation. I used to make strong situations back when I planned it all out, then I'd use the old "illusion of choice" trick. Now I have more mini-situations in reaction to player actions. They're good but they are so fleeting...

Anyone else do this and feel like a hippy?
