As the title. I have only heard of xvarts as a source of negative LA, but the creatuer listing on the SRD does not appear to list that. Where is the negative LA from?

Generally, negative LA is a joke made by both players and DMs alike, meaning that a race is so sucky, it deserves a negative level adjustment, as opposed to a regular level adjustment - that is, it should require less xp per level, rather than more.

As I recall they are from dragon 339 and they do not have a negative level adjustment. It seems to be a mistake where someone mistakenly read -2 CR as -2 level adjustment if I remember correctly.

I can not recall at the moment though I was a bit unclear and I believe it is only -2 CR with NPC class levels similar to kobolds -3. So probably just a bit better then what kobolds get.

Small size
Land speed 30 ft

+2 Move Silently
LA +0
