View Full Version : "Yummies?"

Brief speculation - Enor seems to have very specific plans for the reward money in #715. Then Gannji also mentions the mysterious yummies in #716. So what are they? What do (blue) half-dragons consider "yummy?" I keep conjuring up mental images of Scooby Snacks.

He doesn't seem to be the brightest bulls-eye lantern on the general equipment list in any event...

I was wondering whether it was some type of code when I read it, but felt too stupid to speculate.

Food!

What? Bounty hunters need to eat too.

I thought it was just a figure of speech.

I had kobolds call the elf ranger a "yummy" once.

I'm pretty sure it's your standard "Big brutish henchman" who's more concerned with something trivial than the big scheme of things.

In this case, it's food.

Chocolate Raisins. I'd be willing to become a brutish hitman if someone promised me a supply of those things.

Food!

I sort of gathered that :smallwink:

I was more wondering what food he was looking forward to. What do Blue dragons like to eat? Or half-dragons, to be more precise. Are his "yummies" people? Do half-dragons even do that?

Do half-dragons even do that?

Why not? If dragons can eat basially anything, why should there not be a half-dragon with a strange(?) taste?

The "yummies" is probably not "people" as he needs money to buy them. Sure, he could buy slaves but as pretty powerful bounty hunter, he could also just catch some random guy.

So "yummies" seem to be something you can buy but that is relatively expensive and cannot just "gathered" on or along some random street.

I'm pretty sure it was a joke... If he was more specific, it wouldn't fit the standard dumb big brute stereotype.

Maybe it's like when you get some money and think "no dogfood for me tonight".

Some could. Some humans, in real life no less, do.

I've been thinking it's going to turn out to be people, yeah. Presumably he just has more specific tastes that eating a random person off the street won't satisfy, or maybe eating people is legal where he's from but only if you buy them first.

Or all of them combined?

This is a stack of 15 yummy roasts. It is made from masterfully minced elf meat, well minced baby meat, expertly minced puppy meat, and masterfully minced chocolate raisins.

It's like somebody in the real world calculating how many beers his lotto winning would buy or something. I seriously doubt he actually meant he was going to spend all of his reward money on food...

That makes since. I remember I used to calculate large amounts of money in the number of N64 games they would buy me.

Depends on the half-dragon. A red dragon can survive on a mineral diet while some humanoids practice cannibalism, so we've got a wide range of possibilities.

He probably just converts the reward money to copper pieces and eats those.

Penny candy.

I'm thinking that he favors one specific type of food, like stew for the MitD. Something simple (like scooby snacks.)

He's Pex from The Eternity Code. comedic relief, and the yummies are supposed to be stupid. I doubt we'll ever hear what they were, but I doubt humanoids; more like sugary candy of some kind. And yes, he will spend all however-many-thousand GP on candy.

Half-dragons eat forum posters. They wait for them to get fixated on irrelevant minutiae, then sneak up behind them and WHAM! over the back of the head with a club.

He understands money, inasmuch as he knows 5,000gp buys a lot of food. He just doesn't care about anything you can buy with money besides food. He lets Gannji deal with that.
