I may have one-shot gestalt campaign coming up in a few weeks and I'd like to optimize for sheer, unadulterated dwarfiness. If you guys have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

We're using Pathfinder as the core system, with fairly liberal importation rules from 3.5 supplements.

My current thought is something like this:

Race: Dwarf

Gestalt Side 1:
Incarnate / Ironsoul Forgemaster / Wizard 1 / Runsmith

Gestalt Side 2:
Warblade x / Deepwarden 2 / Deepstone Sentinel

No dwarven defender in there? Really?

I kind of thought Dwarven defender was superseded by Deepstone Sentinel.

Some other very Dwarfy PrCs
Ollam (CAdv)
Dwarf Paragon (UA)
Stonelord (CWar)
Hammer of Moradin (PGF)
Drunken Master (CWar) ... if only it didn't require Monk levels...

Bunch of feats from Races of Stone would be thematic.

dwarf paragon is base class that never gets you a multiclass penalty

Human Paragon 3

For Maximum Dwarfiness
Dwarf Paragon and Fighter (Dwarf favoured class this is :) )

Human, stoneblessed: dwarf, dwarf paragon :)

Dwarf paragon makes your craft skills uber, your darkvision better, your racial traits are so good you're dwarfier than the average dwarf. Also has good will saves and more class skills that you might need.

Deepstone sentinel is like DD for ToB right? Why not some bloodstorm blade hammer?
Sentinel should be stronger than DD, but the DD can boost your con and AC, adding in deepwarden boosts your AC by boosting your Con, and the DD stance boosts your AC and con again.

Warblade 15/Deepstone Sentinel 5 || Fighter (Dungeoncrasher) 6/Lion Totem Barbarian 1/Dwarven Defender 8/Dwarf Paragon 3/Fighter 2

I've had great fun with this build. He's really scary in close quarters. With Dungeoncrasher Bull-Rush/Trip shenanigans, Defensive Stances, and all the joys of the Stone Dragon school foes have a very difficult time getting past him to your squishies. Spiked Chain is optimal, but an Dwarven Waraxe +Heavy Shield is more iconic and has worked well for me.

If you hit Epic go
Warblade etc||Dwarven Defender 2/Hulking Hurler 3/Legendary Dreadnought etc

I've played this guy from lvl1, deep into epic, and never regretted my build.

humm, a dwarfy dwarf

how about this

The build , and the reasons for each pick, will be explained at the bottom

Race: Earth Dwarf
Alignment : any chaotic

STATS (32 pts buy, less works too)

STR 18
DEX 6 (dump)
CON 20 (16, +2 dwarf, +2 paragon)
INT 10 (optional dump, 8 intel gives you just enough skillpoints)
WIS 16 (12 minimum, since it helps damage and will saves, don't dump it)
CHA 6 (dump)

1 Ranger/ Lion Totem Barbarian weapon focus: warhammer
2 Ranger/ Lion Totem Barbarian bonus feat: uncanny dodge
3 Ranger/ Dwarven Paragon iron will, bonus feat: endurance
4 Ranger/ Dwarven Paragon
5 Ranger/ Dwarven Paragon
6 Ranger/ Deepwarden Oversized TWF
7 Ranger/ Deepwarden
8 Ranger/ Battlesmith
9 Ranger/ Hammer of Moradin
10 Ranger/ Hammer of Moradin
11 Ranger/ Hammer of Moradin

Ranger gives you skillpoints, divine spellcasting, the endurance feat (all of which are required for the prestige classes).

Barbarian gives you pounce, rage, uncanny dodge, d12 hitpoints

Dwarven Paragon for an extra +2 Con and other bonuses to crafting
Deepwarden so your Con replaces your Dex for AC bonuses
Battlesmith to get your Wisdom to damage with warhammers
Hammer of Moradin to get your STR 1.5 times even while dual wielding warhammers.

The first few feats mentioned are necessary for the prestige classes, Oversized two-weapon fighting is just recommended

Raging incredibly useful as it also gives you a bonus to AC , which nullifies the penalty. Your bonus is high enough that you might want to consider taking a level in monk and fist of the forest although that would require an alignment change, and Fist of the Forest has weird fluff for a dwarf.

I would trade the animal companion for something else.

Obviously it's a melee build so it won't be as strong as a caster, but you can easily turn it into an horizon tripper variant.

I initially read that as "Drunken Hammer of Moradin" and got really excited. Then I paid attention to what you actually wrote.

Sounds like a PRC in the making.Actually something suspiciously like that is already made. Check the UA prestige classes.

Also be born dwarf and polymorph into that outsider dwarven ancestor

You got that dwarfy belt?

Now, as anyone who's played dwarf fortress knows, a dwarf isn't a dwarf unless he's on fire and doesn't care about it.

Enter the Azerblood from dragon 350. They're dwarves that are also on fire, and since they're planetouched you can make them lesser and drop 'em down to +0 LA.

Now, all you need is a favored enemy (animals) and a crippling fear of elephants, and you're good to go.

Also, equip a belt of dwarvenkind, and UMD not being a dwarf to double up on your dwarvenness.

I really hope it is so.

On fire, covered in vomit, blood, and guts. Also he/she should be armed with a newly born, if possible.

All beware of the elephants, they will hunt you.

I wonder if this gestalt dwarf monstrosity can squeeze in more Dwarfness than another gestalt build can squeeze in Bear-ness.

Stoneblessed from Races of Stone can make you count as a dwarf and gain dwarf-like bonuses... and doesn't disallow dwarves entry (not that a PaO couldn't get around that if it did).

It's an homage now. I said so. Therefore, it's true. Further discussion is invited via PM.

Every single item this character has must be dwarvencraft (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040807a&page=6), a quality I was not aware of a few days ago (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8307646&postcount=7). Though there's no such thing as dwarvencraft darkwood, I believe the improvised weapon argument is enough to fuel everything metallic being dwarvencraft.
