I've decided to play the arcane caster, since everyone else is playing melee and they got there first. I'm fine with it, in any case.

I've got the basics down. Chaotic neutral changeling wizard, eventually going Recaster(Races of Eberron). Are the Changeling Wizard ACFs from the same book any good? What metamagic feats(to use with Recaster class features) are best for which schools of specialization? I'm likely using Focused Specialist(Complete Mage) and Wizard Training(Complete Arcane, p.181) unless something much better is recommended. Are there any other class dips I could look at if I finish Recaster? General advice that doesn't fall under that already mentioned is also welcome. Keep in mind it probably won't go past around level 10 and we're starting at level 1.

Assume flaws are disallowed, but any other official 3.x WotC material is fair game. I know one of the players is going to town with some kind of high-powered warblade build, and the DM's scaling up the encounters rather than disallowing it, so assume cheese is allowed if it won't end the campaign world as a free action, or something like that.

Recaster is pretty awesome. The sub levels are nice, but they may have an odd (if any, really) interaction with Focused Specialist. The main ACFs are the first and I want to say third levels. Changeling Wizard 1 one lets you double specialize in Illusion and Transmutation but may or may not count as real specialization, and you lose three schools for it and only get one extra slot out of it. Third level lets you pick and choose your familiar's bonuses at will, basically. Need bonuses to spot while out and about? Bam, you've got a hawk or owl, depending. After you roll spot, your familiar transforms into a hummingbird for great justice and +4 initiative. It's a good option if you want the bugger, but the conjurer in me loves abrupt jaunt far too much.

As for other PrCs, Master Specialist is always good for filler, and not the kind you find in Bleach. Depending on what you're going for, War Weaver may also help you out, as you're party seems big on beat sticks, even though that would lose you two caster levels.

For metamagic feats, assuming you don't go War Weaver, I'd say extend spell to qualify, as I believe you don't actually need the feats in question to get the use out of the Recaster's pseudo-metamagic'ing.
