I've decided to play the arcane caster, since everyone else is playing melee and they got there first. I'm fine with it, in any case.
I've got the basics down. Chaotic neutral changeling wizard, eventually going Recaster(Races of Eberron). Are the Changeling Wizard ACFs from the same book any good? What metamagic feats(to use with Recaster class features) are best for which schools of specialization? I'm likely using Focused Specialist(Complete Mage) and Wizard Training(Complete Arcane, p.181) unless something much better is recommended. Are there any other class dips I could look at if I finish Recaster? General advice that doesn't fall under that already mentioned is also welcome. Keep in mind it probably won't go past around level 10 and we're starting at level 1.
Assume flaws are disallowed, but any other official 3.x WotC material is fair game. I know one of the players is going to town with some kind of high-powered warblade build, and the DM's scaling up the encounters rather than disallowing it, so assume cheese is allowed if it won't end the campaign world as a free action, or something like that.
