This person has recreated Bag End, from the Lord of the Rings, in exquisitely-detailed miniature; for fun. Sounds like awesome.

I was hoping someone had made a full sized one to live in...

Oh well, this is cool too.

Wouldn't one end up hitting one's head upon the doors, Gandalf-style?

What scale miniatures would you need for that?

Awesome. Looks like it was a lot of work too. Very well done.

Now... to figure out how to lay a five foot grid over it... hmmm...

My parents are both members of a Tolkien-company, who name themselves after characters in the books, dress up themselves and hold truly amazing parties, but I'm generally not allowed to follow most of them (must be a member first, and I'm some month too young for that yet :smallfrown:). However, for their something-aniversary last summer (or was it the summer before that), which I and my brothers were allowed to attend to, they had a large hobbit-themed party for which they built a small hobbit hole in an artificial hill covered with 1 tonne of grass(!), which housed the serving of beer. It looked really realistic and it was a shame that they had to dismantle it afterwards (the local scrapyard wanted the steel pipes that were made into the skeleton of the hill back).

That is fully awesome. I'd play DnD in that.

Six rooms, I thought Bag End was bigger than that, so count me a little disappointed. However it is a very nice miniature.

When I read the title I was thinking someone had made a lifesize one (or slightly bigger than lifesize, no bumping heads on doorjambs then) but this actually seems alot harder. I know I'd never be able to cram that much deatil into a few square feet.

Which Bag End are you thinking of?
The link has better detailed pictures, so it's probably larger (overall) than the picture suggests.

It's a dollshouse, so 1/12, I believe. It's a wonderful labour of love!
