Yarr, that's indeed one handsome poster.
Strangely familiar, but I can't put me finger on what it is.

How do you make it go to whoever clicks it's page?

It's mistyped, so it defaults to the person's own profile. The correct format is http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=xxxxxxxxx, rather than http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?=xxxxxxxxx.

This does not work for me. Perhaps it is because I refuse to have anything to do with Facebook.

For a moment I thought "oh dear, I've been found", but then I felt flattered by Tsofu's post, meaning that the remainder of this thread represents an affront to my vanity. :smalltongue:

I'd go with "yes". Especially seeing as I skim-read the first two replies as I clicked, so I was incredibly freaked out for a moment.

So, basically, well played, sir. I will have my revenge!

Why is it the thought of someone finding out our real identity scares us so much?

It's not that, it's the knowledge that of they know you on one thing then there's the chance they can find your other, more important stuff.

Also first hand experience at the wrath of 4chan if someone gives them your email address, I don't like people showing my details to strangers on the Internet.

The fact that the second post was "Yarr, that's indeed one handsome poster." somehow played on my ego but still, I went "WTF ?! Should I be scared or proud ?".

It explains itself after but... Damn... Very nice prank.

What made it somewhat plausible was that my (willfully neglected) BookFace is actually registered under Rutskarn Squirrelington. It was created so that my friends would stop pestering me to get one, and has since been left to molder.

That's crazy. I just looked you up to see if you actually named your profile that, and (at the risk of sounding totally creepy) I know one of your friends's girlfriend, and I think I'm from the same city. Small world, I guess. I don't mean to be creepy or anything, I was just shocked that there was someone here so close to home.

P.S. this is what you get for revealing your secrets on the interwebs.

Well, that got me pretty good, there. Especially since I know one or two people who post here in real life.

I know, but why didn't we think of that... you know... BEFORE we put it online?

Before we put it online, the people who were close enough to know and abuse such knowledge were also close enough to be punched in the face, and thus either deterred or easily revenged. Nowadays, getting revenge means doing as much hunting through the dirty laundry as was done to you, plus travel expenses. (Years of longing and still no way to punch people in the face through the internet, or deliver educational shocks via the keyboard, or any such device. Since punitive hardware probably can't be concealed long enough to be sold along with a standard laptop, maybe the answer lies in a cheap yet irresistible USB-powered device with hidden punitive function. . .)

Stages of reading that post:

1. Sweet! I'm an internet celebrity! And someone thinks I'm cute!
2. Wait, that person's a guy. Oh...well...still cool.
3. Wait, this thread has like sixty replies! All talking about me! And my real life! Ahhh!
4. Wait, I'm just a gullible moron. Whew, I was worried something had changed.

edit: 5. Maybe I should do this to my friends on another forum...:smallamused:

I was really confused about this at first because my profile pic is the black-and-white Earthrise picture (you know, the famous color one? This is the first one ever taken and I think it's much cooler). So I was like, "...? Why are you... calling me beautiful based on my profile pic?"
