I recently started work on a new class that is based around being born under the sign of a divine entity. The following are a list of traits the class has:

* It would choose a patron (a deity or other divine entity) and gain access to domains (most likely three) from the list granted by their patron
* the ability to use the domain spells as spell-like abilities
* The ability to turn or rebuke undead
* Bonus feats (divine, domain, and a few others)
* That's it so far but i'm still working on it

What would be a good name for this type of class. I originally was going to use "Blessed" but i was hoping for a better name

Mystic? Sage? Vessel? Any of these take your fancy?

So, is it a divine warlock type thing? Divine spells as SLAs sounds similar to Invocations....

I would use Prophet. It has a nice ring to it, and the word would undergo some tweaks in any setting with such massively visible gods.

Words to include: Scion, Chosen, Prophet, Heir, Word, Sword, Staff, or Incarnation. For example, you might call them Chosen of [X], or the Incarnate Sword of [insert god here]. The second is a bit of a mouthful though.

The flavor sounds like the FavoredSoul. Some say that it's a bit underpowered, so you could just add domain spells to it, and turn/rebuke undead, like a cleric, and replace the free weapon focus feats for general feats.
Now, if you mean free use of doman spells, then I don't know how balanced it would be (excluding others spell casting abilities or not).

I 2nd the Prophet name.

What ae you talking about? The favoured soul is awesome and my favourite divine casting class. (This could partly be due to the houserule we have that make save dc mods also use cha)

Thanks for the quick replies

So far, the ones i like most out of these are scion, prophet, and mystic

Scion: I'm leaning towards this one and mystic the most, it says that you are a living symbol of the deity, IMO.

Prophet: Screams "divination specialist and precognitive abilities", a good option.

Mystic: This is probably one of the best ones, but there is already a class called the mystic in the Dragonlance campaign setting.

I think i'll go with scion

Some other options if you haven't already made up your mind.

Chosen (either alone or as in "chosen of X")
Chosen One
Avatar (either alone or as in "avatar of X")
Divine Scion

You could simply call it a "Believer". Of course, this would mean that they would be so obsessed with their God, that if you told them that like, Kord was a tiny bit of a wuss (assuming you worship him), you would smash their face in without remorse.

Avatar (either alone or as in "avatar of X")

Avatar is already a term in Deities and Demigods. I suggest something like "Savior" or "Liberator".

Favored Soul is only "under powered" in the sense a sorcerer is underpowered compared to a wizard. It can still break the game easily, it just can't do as many game breaking things.
