So, my MONSTER cable (100 series, one angled end, one straight) recently started randomly buzzing, so I E-mailed the company, and they're happy to send me another, as per their lifetime warranty. Didn't even ask for a receipt number or anything. Makes me wonder...if one were to be sufficiently in need of a cable, could he contact the company, claim he needed a 'replacement' and geta free one? Doesn't sound like good security to me.

Yes, but thats illegal. So lets hope no one would do that.

Yes, you could, and with how much they charge for those things, they probably don't care if they lose a couple every now and then. I'm going to assume though that your records for calling in are kept in a database somewhere and they'll notice if one person calls unusually often.

As Innis stated, that is theft, which is generally frowned upon in society.

My society as well, but I was just commenting on how easy it seems to be.

Did they ask for your name, address, etc.? If they had your info already, they could just look it up and see you bought a MONSTER cable.

The only way I'd use a monster cable is if I scammed them that way. Those things are overpriced.
