Is there any way a level 6 cloistered cleric can get Animate Dead for free?

Or Desecrate?

I'm attempting to make a necromancer cleric build and trying to reduce my two most common expenses.

You shouldn't be casting desecrate often enough for the cost to matter (be efficient with your animating and always do as much at once as you can). As far as animate dead, you get it with Pale Master (but I think that's arcane only). Other than that, making yourself undead and spellstiching it onto yourself is the only easy way I can think of.

Become undead and spellstitch yourself (template, MM2) or one of your more durable minions.

Edit: Ninjas

I agree it's not at all needed for desecrate, but I'm miserly.

At that level? Not so much. There's the Fell Animate feat, though, from ... Libris Mortis, I think ... that raises anything killed by one of your spells as a zombie under your control (control limit still applies, though).

Actually, reading the template, it can only be done by a wizard or sorcerer. How strange.

A) Nightcaller (limit of one undead per person, 7k ish, LM)
B) Ring of lesser desecration (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=dnd/dx20021031x)
