You are in the city of Greyhaven nestled in the foothills of the Red mountains. For the past few years there has been a rise in cultist activity in the town with demon attacks happening on almost a weekly basis. Due to its advantaegous strategic location the inquisition is worried that if the demons do manage to take it over it will be able to serve as a stronghold for them to attack the rest of the world from. You have each been sent from your respective churches to try and find the leader of the demonic cult and bring him to justice. The inquisiton have warned you that the previous inquisitors here used less than orthodox methods and have caused the town to be very untrusting of inquisitors. They have told you to try and avoid doing anything that might anger the people because the last thing they want is to start a riot and allow the cultists to gain more power. They have also warned you that you should expect to face threats of serious physciall and mental harm while you are there as the cultists have had a great deal of practice in finding and removing inquisitors. You have been told that as long as you keep your heads down and don't do anything to raise suspicion you should be fine.

When one was attempting to avoid suspicion, there were a few things to remember. Being loud and obnoxious was obviously going to get you in trouble, but on the other hand, complete isolation in the corner was just as likely to get you suspicious looks and make people not trust you.

Above all you had to be normal. Not too thin, not too fat. Not too loud, not too quiet. Be open to talking, but never leave anyone with much of an impression. This was the key to espionage. Make yourself friendly, but be no one's friend.

With this is in mind, Rissou chats quietly with the other bar patrons, dressed in stout, but well cut, traveling clothes with a floppy hat on his head. His hair was of the same length, but dulled from its' usual rusty red-brown to a flat dirt color, his weapons in his magical haversack beside him. He was slightly unshaven and slouched over the bar, nursing a drink.

He looks to most anyone like a traveling merchant. Perfectly normal. And no one really minds talking with traveling merchants.

Disguise and Gather Information check. Any information in general about the demon attacks and where they might be coming from. Disguise has to be made in secret, but my skill is at +12 and my hat of Disguise gives me another +10.

They told her to be inconspicuos. With Gemma, that is a rare comodity. Freindly and always willing to learn, puttting coppers in beggars bowls, not realy Covert operation type. Rolling into town on the cart with nibbles didnt exactly maker conspicuos though...

The town library would naturally be the best plawhace to start. Try to blend in they told him. Dias did just that, most of his gear was in his bag. Not disguised in any way at all, but still blending in.

After succesfully disuising himself as a merchant Rissou discovers from some of the villagers that the demon attacks started over a year ago a few months after a group of inquisitors was sent to the city. There was a lot of suspicion for a while that the inquisition might have been infiltrated by the cultists but it turned out that the people spreading these rumours were actually demon cultists trying to undermine the inquisition's authority and were put to death by the inquisitors. The demon attacks tended to start in the sotuheastern distric of the city known for its high crime rates and hostile nature. The citry guard were able to defeat the early demons with ease as they were rarely more than imps but as time progressed the demons grew stronger and more numerous and more and more of the guardsmen were killed in the fighting.

This seems odd because you would have thought the inquisition would have told you if they had sent inquisitors there before you.

"Humph. 'Don't raise suspicion'. Funny."

Rather than go into a building and investigate, Kothar was on the rooftops. Up here, he felt free.

"Have to keep focus, though. It's necessary."

Kothar finds a place overlooking the marketplace to watch it, unseen, and keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
