I built a character a while back whose saves where ridiculous, had mettle and evasion... the problem was the fact that he was lawful evil...
Hexblade 4/ Paladin of Tyranny 3/ Monk 2/ Blackguard 3
I was wondering if there was any prestige class/ base class combinations that were lawful good and had the same protection.

I was also wondering because the black guard and the paladin of tyranny are similar, I was wondering about the prestige paladin and the paladin....

Anyway I am looking for saves around 34/24/27 with mettle and evasion but he has to be lawful good and hold his own against the forces of evil...

Prc with mettle:
Pious templar gives at 1st (good Fort/Will).
Requires True believer, and weapon focus. +5 bab.

Yes, you can be a Paladin with Prc Paladin. However, Divine grace doesn't stack w/ same ability.

Monk evasion only works in light armor. 2nd Divine Oracle's prescient sense (evasion in any armor)

It would be better to be a Cleric (at least 1)/x/Prc Paladin 2/Pious Templar 1/Divine oracle 2.
Saves might be a bit lower as no double dipping divine grace.

Play a Sorcadin? Something like Paladin 2/Sorcerer 4/Abjurant Champion 5/Sacred Exorcist 9. Divine Grace + Superior Resistance + a few other save-boosters like Heroism takes care of the saves part. A Ring of Evasion gets you Evasion. I'm sure there's some way to add Mettle to that.

Another thought would be to boost the heck out of Fort and Ref saves, then use steadfast determination to replace your will save with your fort save.

It's long but worth reading. The AC benefits might help, I dunno. Not great for saves in itself, but it has other good things that would assist you.

Is there anything that uses non Tier 1 classes?

Paladin 4/ Monk 2/ ? 6

Ideally the character would just be wearing a mitheral Breastplate for the armor bonus and keep the evasion.

Paladin 4 because it gives me Turning attempts to channel into divine feats, in addition to allowing me to use wands without going gonk...

What do you guys think about just progressing as Paladin 8/ Monk 4 and picking up Acetic Knight?

PS: Now that I think about it, what about Paladin 4/ Monk 4/ Sorcerer 4 and picking up Acetic Knight and Acetic Mage to reduce MAD...

In addition to being offered by dozens of classes, Evasion can be purchased with a ring (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Ring_of_Evasion) or two feats (Shape Soulmeld and Open Least Chakra on Impulse Boots, which also grants Uncanny Dodge and a Reflex Save boost).

Mettle is granted by the Hexblade, Pious Templar, Vigilante, Witch Slayer, Sohei, Crusader, Deneith Warden, Master Specialist, Argent Fist, Hellreaver, and Kinslayer. There's also the Tabard of Valor: When reduced to 50% hit points or less, you gain Mettle. If you already have Mettle, you gain Improved Mettle (which works just like Improved Evasion, but for Will and Fort Saves). Complete Champion pg 142. Incidentally, I played as a Hexblade in a campaign, and Mettle came up exactly once by preventing 5d6 damage from Disintegrate. While it's handy at low levels to prevent damage from Poisons, Disease, and Drugs (which are fun to abuse), overall it's not that useful.

TONS of things grant bonuses to or otherwise augment Saves. Magic items, spells, soulmelds, racial abilities, maneuvers, psionic powers, and a wide variety of attribute based abilities (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125732).

Putting these together to get what you want shouldn't be that hard, although it could be expensive.

Favored Soul gets all good saves IIRC.

1-2 levels of everything? As long as you don't use Fractional that should give some nice saves.

Not very useful at anything else mind you, but good saves.

Incarnate has easy access to a bunch of Save boosts (though they're dependent on investing essentia), Evasion, and a boatload of defensive abilities.
At mid-upper levels the Binder offers various protections and immunities (Mindblank, energy immunities, etc).
Psychic Rogue (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723b) gets Evasion early and can buff his Saves with a variety of powers, and the Elan (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/elan.htm) can easily boost any Save if you conserve your Immediate action.
Martyred Champion of Ilmater (PGtF) gets Diehard, Immunity to Fear, Divine Grace, DR 15/Evil, Improved Unarmed Strike, 5 bonus feats of your choice, and Holy Suffering - whenever you receive 50 points of damage or more in one round and live, you get a Damage/10 (so minimum +5) bonus to attacks, Saves, and Skills for a number of rounds equal to your level (unfortunately it has 7/10 BAB and 2 lousy feats as pre-reqs). Several other non-Paladin classes offer Divine Grace.
Warblade can replace Saves with Concentration checks (ridiculously easy to boosts) with maneuvers, and end any ongoing effect with Iron Heart Surge.

Um, what do you intend to do offensively? Without full BAB Power Attack combos don't work well. 1st and 2nd level spells at ECL 12ish is a joke. You have no offensive class abilities other then your very limited Smite and Stunning Fist.

Power Attack works fine with a Law Incarnate :smallamused:

But in this situation, thats not whats happening.
