We found that you two did more damage than I think even you know, even though my group was grossly outnumbered they surrendered to us without even a second thought. I must apologize if my father is acting strangely, he has been this way for as long as I remember.

I see. Were you able to get any information about other enemy positions from the people who surrendered to you?

*shrug* they didn't know much. What they did tell was that while everyone was always armed, they thought we simply gave up.

Just continue up to the Duke's throne room. If you run into my father, never, under any circumstances, let him see you with his back turned to you.

After some running, you get to a room that stands out as a stark contrast to the rest of the castle. A very large room with brick floors, the mortar glowing and pulsating in magical energy. The walls filled with blue glowing runes and a huge and powerful looking sphere of pulsating magic floating along the back, with something screaming inside. It is nested between two staircases that arc up to a balcony. On the top of the balcony is an embroided figure with a beam of energy coming off one of its hands and into the sphere.

I cast Fly on myself before flying to the figure while prparing to use Abrupt Jaunt if they try to attack me (I'll give details of where I teleport to if it's necessary).

The figure on the balcony appears to be a human wearing ornate robes under a faintly glowing breastplate. Stop! I command that you identify yourself.

My name is Saal. You woudn't happen to be the leader of the people who are illegally occupying this town by any chance, would you?

[Emperor Ing]

Illegal? Hah, the one in power is the one who makes the rules. I have spent the last days since my ascention securing my authority and now, upon my command, I will release the fruits of my labor upon that fool Masalee, you would be nothing more than a speed bump to it. So now I give you the option, run or die.

He looks like a caster, that much is for certain, and judging by that hammer on his back he might be a battle sorcerer as well, but you can definitely hear the undertone of fear and intimidation in his voice, as if he's thinking "crap crap crap crap crap crap crap!"

I'll quickly look around the balcony for places where a small animal could escape from before I do anything else.

The only thing you see is either through the closed doors deeper into the keep, or down the stairs.

You see a burst of energy arc across the energy chain, which causes the massive scintillating orb to explode. From the burst of light comes the figure of a dragon, it's body formed from oscillating, arcing, and unstable forms of bright force energy. It howls, but interestingly not at you.

You consider the thought for a moment until you remember that this male human is not the female dragonnoid you're looking for.

(I was thinking the thing in the orb could be the Cleric, not the human who I'm about to kill.)

I 5' step back from him (I'll stay on the balcony if possible while using Fly if not) and cast Baleful Polymorph on him again (if I can, I'll try to turn him into a turtle to hinder any attempts to escape on his part.)

The turtle falls to the ground with all sorts of items falling around it. It tries to crawl away.

You see the energy dragon looking at the both of you, the arc of energy that leads to its neck is seen eminating from somewhere in the pile.

I'll quickly grab the turtle if I can before going over to the energy dragon. What was he doing? I'll also ready an action to Abrupt Jaunt away in the event of a sudden attack from the energy dragon.

You pick up the turtle easily and find that it can only look at you panicked, unable to communicate. The dragon continues to stare at you, making occasional glances to the pile of stuff.

I'll put the turtle in my pocket and move all of the items he dropped when I transformed him so it's nearer to the energy dragon. If nothing happens, I'll lay everything out in a row before asking the dragon if any of the stuff can help him/her.

[Emperor Ing]

You see among the layed out pile a possibly magical cloak, a mithril breastplate that is probably magical, a magical pendant, a strange ring that the energy arc is eminating from, a belt, a robe that may or may not be magical, several potions, 2 are Moderate Heal, 1 is a Refresher Potion (refreshes all spell slots and eliminates the need for sleep for 1 day), and 1 is a Potion of Heroism. You also find 321 PP, 2311 GP, and 3296 SP.

You can also feel the turtle trying to climb out of your pocket.

The dragon is focusing most of its attention on the strange ring.

I gather up everything apart from the ring, which I move nearer to the dragon.

[Emperor Ing]

Nothing seems to change, except the moved items' location.

I try holding the ring up near the dragon, using Mage Hand.

[Emperor Ing]

The dragon backs away from it, stretching the energy chord a bit. Interestingly, as you telekinetically hold up the ring you think you hear fragments of words in draconic in your mind, but you can't make them out at all.

I move the ring away from the dragon before trying to focus on the word fragments.

[Emperor Ing]

Almost all of the fragments are indecipherable, but you do make out words you think might be "Do, Chink, Wheel, Why, Machine, Orb, Material, You, Please, Learn, Fragment" and "Spring." But most of them seem to be useless.

I'll look around the room for any springs or wheels.

I am judging by the fact that you are not a pile of ice and bones means the beast sees you as friendly. As for me this castle is lined with many secret passages. Many I know many I do not know, this one being my favorite. As for you my dear... He looks down at the frightened spellcaster

The judge's axe moves in an arc right through the spellcaster's neck, cleaving her head clean from her shoulders. A fountain of blood briefly squirts from her neck before she falls over backwards in a pool of blood.

I explain what happened when I encountered the sorcerer who I turned into a turtle.

You see a naked blue dragonnoid lying in a hollowed out closet, it looks like she has suffered a significant amount of abuse. She doesn't move.

I'll go over to her and try to wake her up. If it doesn't work, I'll sit her up before feeding her my Cure Moderate Wounds potion to her slowly (this is done to avoid her choking, unless I think it would cause her to choke).

She coughs several times, but you can see some of her wounds dissapearing. You also notice her hands chained around her back behind her wings. She turns to you, looking pretty worse for wear.
I told them nothing, because I don't know anything. You know, I am sure. Hmph, funny. I always pictured you more humanoid. Before I go, may I ask one favor?

Sure. I am actually here to rescue you if you think I'm with the people who captured you though. Would that affect the favour you wanted?

I shake my head. Nope. Do you know where I can find the key for your chains? If she can, I'll help her to stand up if she needs help.

You help her up, but she has trouble maintaining balance which she compensate for by leaning against a wall.I really wish I did, I have been bound in this contraption so long I forgot what having hands feels like. If you could extend your search to some clothes that would be wonderful.

Wait, I just remembered a spell I can use. I cast Knock. How long have you been here for? (I think I still have the knee-length red robe I wore before becoming undead so I'll give it to her as something to wear until I can find something better if I still have it. Saal is 6'2", so it will probably end up being more of a shirt for a Dragonoid.)

The chains fall off and the dragonnoid is better able to keep balance. A week maybe? Two? Once they caught me I wasn't able to keep track. She tries on the robe, which to the support of your hypothesis, is a shirt to her. Maybe we can find something...longer?

I nod I had a feeling that wouldn't be enough. What did they want from you anyway? I'll start searching around the room (I'll take 20 on the search check if I can).

You see a bed, a dresser containing several clothes you're certain wouldn't even fit a dragonnoid, and a sac containing a large dress, a holy symbol of the emperor, and several other magic items.
It is rather childish. They killed hundreds of good people and displaced thousands over a grudge with my daughter.

I hand her the dress and magical items I found. Really? Is she okay?

She grabs the pile. I will tell you what I told them when they asked me for where she was, I do not know. However I feel that she has not been found, I can feel it in my bones. Now can you leave the room for a minute while I get dressed?

You see the judge standing outside facing you as you get out. You begin to notice he rarely if ever turns his back to you. Good to know she is in one piece.

Oh yes....him....a lesser God with an extraordinarily zealous cult following whose worship demands the near-constant sacrifice of any sentient creature with a scaley body and tail. Dragons, lizardfolk, and kobolds. They offend Him greatly. How he was not killed in the Deicide I do not know.

If you can spare one, I'd like one thanks. If not, I can use my Cursed Healing Belt if you wanted to save spells (I'm not that badly damaged). Also, any help regarding Remakasa would be appreciated.

You see many crates that have likely been there a while. On closer examination some of them seem to have small holes in them that seem to have been ripped open. You also see crumbs and general remnants of foodstuffs along the ground, they're quite recent otherwise the vermin would have gotten them, and speaking of vermin you occasionally come across a tiny blood stain that looks like it came from a small animal.

I get out my Bands of Steelscroll and use it on the Dragonoid (I know it has a save DC of at least 13, but I'm not sre whether it gets a boost from my +6 Cha mod or the creator's save DC bonus, but she's Helpless for 1 round/ CL on a failed save and Entangled on a successful save if I remember correctly).

(I know what you mean about them being awful. This is awkward because I don't want to use lethal damage on the Dragonoid due to not knowing how healthy she is, but I don't seem to have any way of dealing this sort of damage unless you're okay with me having the option of dealing non-lethal damage with Fist of Stone.)

(I only had 1 Bands of Steel scroll on me and the only spell I know which is like that is Hold Person, which wouldn't work on Dragonoids due to them not being Humanoids.)

There are two methods I may perform. Grappling and Pinning.

I do not know Master. I may suggest causing enough damage to force your organic friend into running, from there you can chase it into my vicinity.

The problem with that is that I don't know how badly hurt she is, so attacking her with weapons could end up killing her accidentally.

As powerful as they may be, with all due respect Master your claws, when formed into fists, are much less potent than your unclenched claws or your sword. ((If you choose to do this you can redirect your cold energy so the target doesn't take 1d6 cold dmg))

The lightning arcs across your skeletal body but it diffuses harmlessly into the ground. Take 0 damage from the lightning.

Your two claws tear into the dragonnoid's flesh, spewing blood everywhere. She staggers, clutching her lacerations before falling to the ground, crawling slowly towards you, her face still that of rage and hatred. She is clearly dying (in negative HP) but apparently she just refuses to quit.

I'll feed her one of the the Cure Moderate Wounds potions I found on the Battle Sorcerer who I polymorphed earlier. If I know feeding her a drop of it will be enough to stabilize her, I'll just giv her that much. If the whole potion is needed:

You get a drop into her mouth, which seems to slow down her bleeding and stabilize her. She seems to sense this and is now somehow angrier than before, crawling weakly towards you (easily avoidable, assuming all attempts at attack are dodged by you)

after several minutes of very slowly pursuing you, Athesses easily grapples her as she crawls into the room. She is wriggling and howling wildly.

As you're going up the stairs you run into Eridana coming down the same stairs. It's likely she heard what is probably her daughter because you can hear her howling from where you are.

Yes. She tried attacking me though and I had to use force to defend myself after my Bands of Steel scroll failed. That energy dragon is keeping hold of her, and I was able to stop her from bleeding too much with a potion.

I follow. I didn't want to have to hurt her but she seemed pretty savage when she attacked me, and I couldn't seem to be able to reason with her.

You question whether or not she heard you, she darted down the stairs so quickly. As you go down to Athesses you see the cleric whispering to her daughter, who, while still extremely pissed off, seems to have calmed down a lot.

She will be okay, she just needs to rest.

Try to imagine, these terrorists were only after her. I knew this because they captured me to get to her, and she knew it too. Imagine spending days, weeks, months in hiding and desperation where you know that if you're found you will either die or suffer unspeakable torture. At some point she figured that death is preferrable to capture, and would have been more than willing to throw herself at The Archduke.
Holy crap someone actually has to make a Knowledge (Nobility) check!

There you are. We have broken your polymorph spell and the sorcerer is telling us all we need to know. All the remaining terrorists have surrendered and are looking at High Treason charges.

A ruthless human brigand by the name of Phillipo Rosenkoff. A Bandit Lord, the one that got away from me. I have been pursuing leads on him on my own time, unfortunately they have been extremely few and far between, and vague in nature. It just recently came to my attention he has been sighted in a town on the western continent.
