How would a dragon shaman with a shadow dragon totem work with energy shield? Resistance? Draconic adaptation?

Negative{and positive] energy are energy and while it rarely comes up a few creatures possess resistances to either.


So resistance would be to negative energy,
energy shield would deal two points of negative energy damage

Dragonic Adaptation? a weaker Blend into Shadows.
Hide in Plain Sight (Su)
A shadow dragon shaman can use the Hide skill even while being observed. As long as she is within 10 feet of some sort of shadow.

The real hurtle is a balanced breath weapon.

Balanced BW is easy at higher levels, it is the lower ones that are the problem... try looking at Doom and balancing from that? I THINK that mostly just means starting it out so the BW can never kill anything and shortening the duration. No need to make it a morale effect though. Incidently, avoid the whole business with the slain coming back as Shadows.
