Ok, this is probably not an easy problem to solve, but I've been incredibly frustrated with the Dell Datasafe Local Backup program on my PC and am currently trying to kill it.

Unfortunately, I botched up the attempt and it won't go away.

First, I used MyUninstaller (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/myuninst.html) to delete the three components... and accidentally used the "delete" option it offers instead of the "uninstall" option, which meant that one component was removed installed applications list instead of actually uninstalled, and I can't get it to reappear.

I then went to the Control Panel and tried to uninstall the thing the old fashioned way, but it did not show up there as a result of my mistake with MyUninstaller. I tested "deleting" a program from MyUninstaller and it failed to show up again on the default Windows Uninstaller, so I'm pretty sure that's why component I "deleted" is not there.

I don't suppose anyone who is more computer oriented than me has an idea of what to do?

Three ways I can think of:

1) Reinstall Dell Datasafe Local Backup, then uninstall it properly, since you appear to be aware of what you did wrong the first time.

2) Use something like CCleaner (http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/?tag=mncol) to fix your registry and remove the remaining components.

3) Go digging into your program files and delete the progam directory, then use regedit to fix your registry.

I suggest fix 1 first, then 2 if that doesn't work. Don't do 3 unless you know what you're doing as it can severely muck up your computer.
