I'm mostly just curious about this. Are there any classes based around simply building things? There's a TV show character I want to build for fun.

Artificer seems to be the most obvious option.

One Prc I can think of is effigy master from Complete Arcane. The basic idea of the class is that you build constructs that look like humanoids or animals.

Artificers make robots homunculi and magical items. That's their entire stick.

what book is that from again?

I should also ask, does Duct tape exist in the D&D world?

There's Sovereign Glue or something like that, which binds two things together.

I should also ask, does Duct tape exist in the D&D world?D20 Modern has duct tape (also magical). MIC will most probably have something analogous.

Unfortunately, Sovereign glue costs too much for the quantities of Duct tape I'm going to need.

@^ what does the Duct tape from D20 Modern cost?

Also, the Lyre of Building (13000 GP) and Nolzur's Marvellous Pigments (4000 GP) are right up your alley.

The master trapsmith and combat trapsmith PrCs from Dungeonscape and C. Adventurer are about building...traps. Dungeonscape has the better class.

Magic of Eberron

Artificer is from the Eberron Campaign Setting. MoE just adds more support.

There is a cantrip called "Stick" in Underdark (also listed in crystalkeep). Attaches one object of up to 5 lb to something else. Instantaneous, so it lasts until pulled apart. However the adhesive power isn't very strong and anyone can pull it off.

Last question. How popular do you guys think "the red green show" is? Or have you never heard of it?

Oh, and I'm asking because I want to make a few of the characters from there and don't want my DM to kill me in case they become future characters.

.......water?:smalltongue:Yes, in a way. You'll use the DM's tears when you persist Arcane Spellsurge.

Yes, in a way. You'll use the DM's tears when you persist Arcane Spellsurge.

Won't be doing this. I don't want to be kicked out of my group for being a powergaming jerk. That's why I chose a dragon as a cohort instead of a wizard.

Which turned out to be a big help to the DM since his girlfriend wants to use a dragon as a mount too.

don't worry, this isn't one of the girlfriend's that takes up all the DM's time and doesn't actually want to play. He treats her pretty much like he treats us in game.
