Title says it all. Happy mothers day to all the current and future mothers here in the playground. I'm sure it isn't quite in America yet, but it is here in Australia, so just be happy that your day stretches more than 24 hours :)

Whereas in England it was a couple of months ago, so I don't have to worry about forgetting it for another year basically

Damned colonists, making up dates for stuff[/slightlyracistbutwellmeaningoldEnglishman] :smallwink:

Pah, It's not our fault if you lot from the homeland can't keep up with our new and improved days! :smalltongue:

Also, Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers in the playground! And to all the Mothers of all the playgrounders!

According to internet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother's_day), of all the countries which observe Mother's Day, over 70 of them do so on the second Sunday of May, the largest majority. I suppose that's to be expected, when it was a member of the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Jarvis) who founded the modern holiday. Of course, the date observed by Ireland and the UK originates from Mothering Sunday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothering_Sunday), which is quite older. [/indifferentbutpedanticcolonist]

A history lesson! Now, everyone go call your mums.

I wish mothers everywhere a lovely and joyous day, and thank them very much.
