View Full Version : Running a Revolutionary Campaign in Sharn

So, basically, I'm running a 3.5 Eberron campaign set mostly in the city of Sharn, and PCs are members of a revolutionary group based on the labor movement, trying to foment a socialistic revolution in Breland as a launching pad for more widespread overturning of the social order of the nobles, houses, and upper class.

The problem I'm having is mainly how to portray things like mass strikes, propagandizing, speech giving, etc. while still maintaining the minimum number of battle sequences per playing session (about three). Not every strike involves violence, and most of the plausible reasons they could commit violence and get away with it is if they're on clandestine missions or in the Cogs. Now, they are in the Cogs and they do go on clandestine missions, but I'd like to move away from the clandestine and more towards a general feel of widespread social revolution with the PCs as a part of it. I have some great ideas for cool adventures like sabotaging Argonth, stealing a skyship full of Kundarak treasure and more or less spilling banknotes and coins over the poor or otherwise redistributing the wealth, and getting the changeling involved in all kinds of intrigue acting as some sort of triple agent ostensibly with House Cannith and trying to influence an international plot to invade the Eldeen Reaches. I also have some cool ideas for general strike actions and whatnot, but I'm having a hard time integrating the characters into these in a way that's fun and inclusive for the whole group. Any advice?
