So, after the campaign is finished, I thought I would be making a little tournament of arms for the PC's to engage in(if they so decide of course). The tournament would be seperated. One would be for martial classes(warriors, monks, rogues, rangers and the other classes that rely on very sharp sticks causing a lot of pain), and the other would be for spellcasting classes(clerics, wizards, sorcerers and the like).
So, my question is really more for suggestions, about the types of classes that you think would be challenging for the party in the tournament. All fights are one on one, I predict the party will be level 13 at the moment it starts.
Before the fight, the contestants pass through a "wall of dispel" sort of thing that would make the fight fair for both sides as it removes all enchantments placed on them(that they do not have on their equipment that is). The spellcasting classes follow the wizard duel rules in the Rules Compendium and Complete Arcana(First round is to cast a spell that can affect only himself, be it a buff or something to bolster his or her magic defense, second round is to ready an action, a counterspell or the like, and the third one is to begin the duel). Now, I don't know how that will transcribe to clerics and other divine spellcasters when compared to mages.
There will be rewards for the first three places, with the one that comes in first place having the choice of choosing the reward(because I intend to make the rewards set, since different players have different ways of combat) plus being the only one of getting a monetary prize as well for their effort.
Thoughts, suggestions(especially on various classes that should take me quite some time to make, even good homebrew classes are an option here)?
