Not that they're likely to ever make this DCAU show into a live action movie, but I was thinking after seeing a recent movie with Clint Eastwood that he would make a pefect old Bruce Wayne. (Indeed, back around the time the first Michael Keaton Batman movie premiered that they should have cast Eastwood instead. As Eastwood had already reached his mid-60s at the time, however, he really wouldn't have made a good choice.)

Nobody really comes to mind immediately to play Terry McGuiness.

what would the villian be, because i can see several choices for those characters

Powers/Blight= Jack Nickolson
Joker Mark II= Robin Williams.

no clue on Batman Mark II though...i'll keep any eye out though.

Bruce Wayne: Harrison Ford (He does the "Tired of this spoon" schtick better then anyone else.)

Batman MII: A total departure, Jude Law. Okay, he is English, but Stalingrad shows that he may well be able to carry the role.

Villain/s: Royal Flush Gang.

King: Tommy Lee Jones
Queen: Judy Dench
Jack: Vin Diesel
Ten: Natalie Portman
Ace: The Rock (He's big, its a non-speaking role, and he is good at physical comedy.)

Actually, Will Friedle, Rider Strong, or Matthew Lawrence could pull off Terry.

Jude Law as Terry? Um. I allow that I don't know what Stalingrad is, but Terry's like FIFTEEN.

Actually I believe 17/18 or something like that...late High School, possibly senior. Anyways, after thinking about it, I'm gonna have to say...
Jason Behr - http://imdb.com/name/nm0004736/,
Zach Braff - http://imdb.com/name/nm0103785/,
or Gregory Smith - http://imdb.com/name/nm0808376/.

All good actors.

I like Zach Braff for Terry

but do you realize how expensive that would be? get all these damn multi-million dollar famous people?

I like Behr (from Roswell) and Smith (from Everwood) but I wonder if they're both too sensitive to pull off Terry. Terry's not exactly Mr. Sensitivity. He's no Bruce Wayne, of course, but he's a bit hard-bitten for a teen.

That's the thing, none of them are multi-million dollar famous people. Just moderately famous rich guys...cheaper than A-Listers.

you'd need a near no name I think...otherwise it'd be built up on that actors reputation and if memory serves that rarely helps a batman movie.

incidently i hear they may make a Batman vs Superman movie.

Shortest movie ever, snicker

Yeah, Scrubs seems to have done him in.

Who would play his kid brother and girlfriend?

Jake Gyllenhaal, the guy who shoulda played Venom.

-Tophur Grace... what were they thinking?

We've seen him act elsewhere...not tough, but I'm sure he could do it. He seems to know his craft. I like all my choices, personally (obviously, hah). I think they've all proven they have the capability, anyways.

I couldn't picture Tobby fighting or web slinging after "the Cider House Rules" but I was proven wrong!

I was watching the first Superman movie yesterday afternoon and remembered what an all-star cast it contained--not to mention the all-star crew. But I think you can get a much bigger budget for a Superman movie than for a movie about Batman Beyond, of whom relatively few people have ever heard.

Clint Eastwood would probably cost too much, but I still think he has the old Bruce Wayne down cold.

is not the acting, is the looks

I have to agree. I think looks are important for iconic superheroes. Of course Batman Beyond isn't really iconic, as only a relatively small audience of us comic book superhero fans knows about him, but I think any attempt to bring the character to the big screen would require a certain minimal appeal to the original fan audience. Such an appeal would I think, mean at least casting an actor who looked the part. I think Behr more or less has the look--the black hair and the squarish face--but I haven't seen him play anything other than his Roswell roll so I don't know if he could pull off the more hard-edged personality of Terry.

By the way, bluelantern, is there a bluelantern motto that you say when you charge your power ring a the blue lantern? Something like:
In brightest day, in blackest night
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware my power, Blue Lantern's light! ;)

Not yet, but given the way we now have a Yellow lantern oath (fear) and red lantern oath (rage/hatred), and we know there's a blue lantern coming (representing hope), it's inevitable. Ganthet and his new lover Sayd are going to be the guardians of the blue lanterns.

No, I'm not making that up (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Lantern:_The_Blackest_Night). There's an orange & indigo lantern corp on the way too.

Well, obviously Will Friedle, he was Terry. How old is he now, anyway? Hmm...32, bit old for Terry.

For villains, gotta have Inque. I see Fairuza Balk, for some reason.

Blight? Jeremy Irons perhaps.

Maybe mix it up a bit too. Shriek, perhaps? I can see Steven Strait (Warren Peace from Sky High). Give him more of an edge.

Hmmm .... interesting idea. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJKAqn0sgUU&feature=related)

Unfortunately, he's not a bankable actor beyond being a prettyboy. If we ever see a Batman Beyond movie, it'll probably have Shia LaBeouf or some jackass from High School Musical in it. :smallsigh:

Who decided this little dweeb was an action-movie star?

Someone who most likely makes more money than you. :smallamused:

Ho ho ho! You got him there!

Except, people who most likely make more money than Yulian greenlighted projects like:

Disaster Movie
Batman and Robin
Battlefield Earth
Norbit
Godzilla
The Wild Wild West
Catwoman
Howard the Duck
Gigli
Glitter
Meet Dave
And so on and so on ....

Clearly their earning potential didn't prevent a lot of absolutely crappy movies from being made.

Anyways, it doesn't matter that Shia LeBeouf is in a lot of movies. The problem is that he's in a lot of roles that he's not very good at. Case in point: Indiana Jones' kid. Blech.

to me Milo venti-something that plays Peter Petrelli on Heroes looks like a "live action" version of Terry (or whatever future batman is called).

Yes, the bitter irony of it all.

On a different note.
If they had done Howard with some Roger Rabbit type animation for the titular character, and kept his soulful wisass-nes, it could have been good.
