Yes, me and Mrs Banjo will be married at 12noon on Saturday here in the UK! Can't say that I'm particularly nervous, though everyone is saying that I should be, but I am really looking forward to the day after months and months of stressful preperation! Just gotta make sure I remember the rings and my speech now :smalleek:

Then straight onto our honeymoon, literally in the early hours of the morning after the wedding. Two weeks in (hopefully) sunny Croatia which should be awesomesauce, I'm really looking forward to seeing Dubrovnik's Old City. I plan on keeping a bit of a picture-travel-log which I will post either when I get back, or in some seedy little internet cafe over there. Either way you're going to be inundated with wedding pictures the first opportunity I have! :smalltongue:

See you all on June 1st. hopefully with some form of a tan!

I'm happy for you and Mrs. Banjo-to-be! Blessings on a happy life together, and I'm glad to hear you're not getting nerves... yet. Just saying, all of my siblings who I've seen get married have had some nerves that they expressed to me.

Still, happy thoughts! And again, I pray you'll have a long, happy life together!

Good luck and the best wishes from me! But you already knew that.:smallwink:

Shame I can't be there, so I'l just remember you now. ''Don't forget your (under)pants!'':smalltongue:

Once more, making it a 100th time I did this, I think, but, GRONGRATULATIONS.

And you BETTER be at the UK meet-up so I can meet you both!

Have you fun you two!

Congratulations, I wish you lots of fun and pretty little Banjo's in nine months time. Dubrovnik is really beautiful, the food is great and you can get a lot of different liquors for a cheap price (also very small amount in your glass but at least you can try different things). Across Dubrovnik there is also Lovers island and it is quite important that you catch the last ferry back since there are no hotels on the island
I actually lost 6 pounds after going on holiday there because of all the hiking we did
Ston is also in the neighbourhood (one bus ride away) with the world's second largest wall. Not much else to see there but relaxing never the less.

Congrats to both of ya

Don't worry, there'll be more than enough pictures when we get back, so many that I'm sure everyone will be bored of looking at them. Cue many pictures of the bottom of my bag and out of focus shots of impressive stuff you'd actually like to see clearly...as long as my face doesn't break the camera first. :smalleek:

Everything is sorted, though it's taken until today to finaish things off, really didn't think some of the table plans and stuff would make it in time. We're marrying at a [insert place of religious significance here] though it's more because of asthetics than any other significance.

Congratulations, Banjo! Now that you're "becoming a man," however, it's about time we had the Talk. You see, it starts with a mommy bird and a daddy bee who love each other very much ...

You're getting married and asking for luck? Nooooo, can't spare any of that, and you wouldn't want the kind of luck I have, anyway! I will give you my best wishes and hopes that whatever life throws at you, you can meet it together and come out on top, and keep loving each other (it's so sad how many people end up forgetting that last bit). And, welcome to the club! Remember the rule for husbands: it is better to be happy than to be right. If you don't know what that means, you'll find out soon enough! :smallwink:

If it's of any comfort, know that there isn't a wedding in the history of the universe that's gone exactly according to plan.

Also, as the saying goes, the worse the wedding, the better the marriage.

Totally did not steal that from Sex & the City, nope. It's a real-life saying that's been used for thousands of years.

Congrats and Godspeed.

I actually enjoyed my wedding very much, any nerves I had had more to do with making sure the guests were taken care of more than anything else, so don't think you're strange in that. Enjoy the wedding--it will hopefully be a once in a lifetime event.

May you and your partner find something to cherish about each other from now until forever.

Thanks so much everyone, your kind words, luck, and congratulations are great to read now we've finally returned! Anyone miss me while I was gone? :smalltongue:

I don't think I could possible describe how great the wedding day was, it was truly beyond words, and it all went by so quickly. We didn't exactly do some things by the book...as you'll probably see from some of the pictures. :smalltongue: The honeymoon was equally awesome, Dubrovnik is quite a magical place and the prettiest city I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Makes Birmingham look even crapper now I'm back home. :smalltongue:

We haven't got any official wedding photo's back yet, and we haven't sorted our honeymoon pictures out yet, but I have got a choice selection from several wedding guests to show you. As everyone said "Pictures or it didn't happen" I suppose I'd better show that it did!

WARNING - Wedding Photo's will probably bore you senseless!
No pictures in the church except for our professional photographer...who's pictures we don't have yet. So, with the deed done we went outside, into sunshine which was a nice surprise :smalltongue: Mrs B looked radiant...I as always looked rather drunk, probably left over from the night before.
http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8595/booze.png

They finally managed to get be to be serious long enough to take a decent close-up, with slightly iffy results. Again Mrs B puts me to shame!
http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/3075/thehappycouplef.jpg

An attack from low-flying confetti brought a little chaos to the day.
http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/8951/big2q.jpg

We then proceeded to walk through a graveyard, shadowed by special bouncers you have for weddings, also known as the best man and the ushers.
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/143/gravewalk.png

Finally we got to the wedding car and the most important part of the wedding - the booze! :smalltongue:
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/478/carandcork.png

Little did we know that the ride to the reception venue would be a stand-up white-knuckle ride of pure terror! Fortunately my face doesn't show it, as I'd drunk most of the bottle of champagne on the way.
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1777/cardanger.jpg

After the ride I was just happy there was more wine, and flowers for me to make me look all pretty! It didn't work :smalleek:
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/6826/bouquetj.png

Fortunately a friendly man was on hand to roll out the red carpet and keep the wine flowing...
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/2126/wakas.jpg

I had drunk about enough by that time for the silly hat contest amongst the important male guests to begin in earnest.
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/5431/badhats.jpg

I had a Muskateers hat, but you can't have just one all on his own. So I decided to pretend to be a pirate instead.
http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/649/yaaar.jpg

In the end we graduated from bad hat class! Time for the bit where everyone throws their hats up in the air and gets injured when they drop back down.
http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/1995/wheee.jpg

No winner had been decided, but I still think my hat was the best....except for the fez of course.
http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2162/meinhat.jpg

As a Muskateer I decided to be chivalrous and walk Mrs B through the wonderful garden of the reception venue...
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/4652/readyh.jpg

...but couldn't resist the cue for a dramatic picture. Mrs B was either happy or horrified, I couldn't quite tell!
http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/3160/74687438.png

After all the silly business it was time to get onto the speeches. Public speaking time! I don't look too terrified do I? Might of helped that I'd only made two lines of notes!
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/6789/speecha.png

Before we knew it the meal was over and it was time for the cutting of the cake. For some reason I decided this was the perfect time for my "I'm a Little Teapot" impression.
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8941/cakeiq.png

It was then time for the bride and grooms slow dance....to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by the Darkness, naturally. Nobody caught us doing air-guitar to the solo....fortunately. :smallamused:
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4594/big1db.jpg

Beetlejuice arrived a little later to get the party started. :smalltongue:
http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8619/beetlezr.jpg

...after that it all got a bit messy. I was caught doing my best dance moves with the best man to "My Sharona" by The Knack. It had to be done :smalltongue:
http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/3258/mysharona.png

...It was all too much for some people!
http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/201/alltoomuch.jpg

So that was the story of Banjo and Mrs Banjo's wedding day.
More pictures will probably follow, especially of the honeymoon when we get them sorted, but your safe for now. :smallamused:
Is this at least enough pictures to prove it did indeed happen?

Pretty sure not.

Whenever I look at some of those photos, with some of the poses, and the musketeer hat, I keep thinking Banjo looks like an aesthetic poet.
Well, actually, more specifically I keep thinking he looks like Bunthorne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patience_(opera)).
