The first one posting in this thread gets the honor of killing me

Prep rounds? 1d4 maybe?

Also, daily preparations? Allowed? Disallowed?

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 04:33 AM
Go ahead, prepare yourself for a fight against the monk.

You may have all the time you need. Sadly this is not a caster, cause if he was you could test those skills.

http://www.roguepenguin.com/castellar/profiler/view.php?id=5264.

You have until you say you're ready to prepare, this is a test, so char should be ready, post him in post if he is. Monk is ready. Which spot are you in? Red or Blue?

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 04:45 AM
If ready please begin your turn, my monk does what he does best, waiting.

And state your starting position, I do not mind where I start.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 04:46 AM
Righteo, prep spells coming up (In addition to my daily spells):

Prismatic Sphere
True Seeing

You notice a large sphere of swirling colours engulf me.

EDIT: You're just ... delaying? Hmm, okay then ... I'll do it in the next post so I can roll if necessary. And I don't mind where I start, let's say blue for an arbitrary reason.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 04:48 AM
Actually I don't according to the map a giant stone slate keeps me from seeing that .

Do we state actions in spoilers? unless it's visible for others so that they can be checked if necessary?

And yes he waits for one turn and than goes over to action. I wil lstart in red in that case. Go ahead. You're turn.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 04:51 AM
Oh, ofc. My bad.

Well, anywho ... How high are we saying is the max, and how high are the pillars? 20ft?

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 04:52 AM
The pillars are higher than that let's say 50'. That's even low compared to most of the things (once played something like that with unlimited height pillars )

Niezck
2010-05-18, 04:58 AM
Well then ... :smalltongue:

Fly 60ft upward and timestop
[roll0] rounds

You see nothing. (I need to continue in the next post.)

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:01 AM
Go ahead. State your actions, and I will react accordingly.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:18 AM
By the way:
I have Spellresistance 30.
I have DR 10/evil and DR 8/adamantine
My AC = 63 (touch 54), flatfooted is it 54.
I am immune to acid, cold, electricity
I have fireresistance 10
Fast healing 10.
Immunity to poison.
Slow Fall any distance

I can burrow at 55' / second

Half-Celestial SLA's

That's it (the most important racial things)

Item and featstuff:
Fly with landspeed (perfect)
Attack as monklevels +13 (tattoo, SUS, Monks Belt)

That's all.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:33 AM
Round One:
Move: Fly 60ft upward again
Standard: Delayed Blast Fireball timed on the round the timestop ends - [roll0]

Round Two:
Move: Fly 60ft upward again
Standard: Delayed Blast Fireball timed on the the round timestop ends - [roll1]

Round Three:
Move: Fly 60ft upward again
Standard: Summon Monster VIII (Greater Air Elemental) - [roll2] HP - flying one square infront of me and to the right.

Round Four:
Standard: Summon Monster IX (Celestials only) - Celestial Roc - [roll3] HP - standing one square infront and to the left.

A very unimaginative timestop, but meh.

Within the blink of an eye I am a further 180ft in the air, and you see a gargantuan roc and a huge air elemental floating either side of me.

Two great fireballs impact at your feet, exploding in a 20ft spread of fiery destruction.

Reflex DC 26 for both.

EDIT: 77 and 78 damage respectively, though no doubt you have improved evasion so probably save for nothing and no save for 38 & 39. Blech, minus fire resistance D:

Your turn.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:34 AM
Because those effect me directly: SR check for both please. Since it's magic. Most evocations are subject to those. So you need to beat SR 30.

If you make that one I will roll my reflexsaves which will only fail on a 4 or lower ^^

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:39 AM
Hmm, I can target the space you're occupying, no? Since it's an area spread ...

Either way ...

[roll0]
[roll1]

Also, the summoned creatures act on my next turn, right?

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:41 AM
Yes they will. Hopefully.

One hits: for my reflexsave [roll0]

I use my complete turn to stand precisely next to you (luckily I can only fly 110'/turn with perfect manouevrability and you are to far away to attack you with a charge)

Made the reflexsave :) and am precisely next to you your turn. Good luck with attacking me

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:45 AM
Surely the Air Elemental & Roc get AoOs? Being huge and gargantuan respectively ...

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:46 AM
Go ahead, sure they do, they need to beat a AC of 63

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:48 AM
Roc - [roll0]
Confirm Crit - [roll1]
Damage - [roll2]
Crit Damage - [roll3]

Air Elemental - [roll4]
Confirm Crit - [roll5]
Damage - [roll6]
Crit Damage - [roll7]

Only hitting on 20s >_>

Okay, so nothing then. I'll do my turn in the next post. I know I should just shapechange into something ridiculously huge and beat you to death, but meh ...

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:50 AM
Like I said I created a monster  a Lawful Good Exalted Goody Goody monster, but a monster none the less.

It's your turn by the way, so i would say attack away.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:51 AM
Move: Five foot step backward.

Standard: Forcecage

You are suddenly trapped in a windowless cell of raw force. No save, no SR.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:54 AM
One little tiny problem, it produces a 10' cube. My height is 15' not going to fit.

Escape clausule for me: Creatures within the area are caught and contained unless they are too big to fit inside, in which case the spell automatically fails. Teleportation and other forms of astral travel provide a means of escape, but the force walls or bars extend into the Ethereal Plane, blocking ethereal travel.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:55 AM
An oversight on my part then, could I change to the 20ft variant in that case?

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 05:57 AM
Let me see  You can, But I will escape with a Dimension Door (thanks to my monk lvls) So does it make any sense in that case.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 05:59 AM
Let me see  You can, But I will escape with a Dimension Door (thanks to my monk lvls) So does it make any sense in that case.

Yes, because it wastes an action :smalltongue:

DD means you can't take any actions after it, so it's another round where I'm not dead ^^

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 06:18 AM
I was not yet planning on killing you. I was planning on showing you the folly of your ways first . I Abundant Step immediatly next to you.

Wait how far are you away from me? 5 feet right? In that case I can attack you and according to me for casting a spell non-defensively I get an AoO, because I was next to you (in short terms within 5' of you) when you did the 5' step and when you casted you were still within my threatrange (which is 10')

Niezck
2010-05-18, 06:23 AM
You're large!? O_O

I need to go for a while, be back soon.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 06:24 AM
Oke, I will take me AoO now:

Attackroll: [roll0]
Damage if hit: [roll1] (I will be friendly and not count the damage you will get for the first hit in one round oke)

Lucky you I miss

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 06:27 AM
Yes I am large and let me hear it if you're back. I would like to take my turn than . I think it's going to be a full attack with a Quivering Palm connected to it.

Which means 6 attacks and if the first one hits I can will you to death as a free action.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 07:00 AM
Take your turn and i'll reply when I can. On my phone atm.

Can you only do that on your first attack? 'Cos if so my plan will worl better than I thought it would :P

Also you need to DD out of the forcecage which allows me another turn of fun :)

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 07:08 AM
Actually I seem not to be able to attack through the bars of the force cage. Looking at the rules that is. half an inch is not enough.

And taking the RAW of Quivering Palm, as long as one attack hits in a full attack and does damage I can will you to death.

But this turn I will sit down and think about my options this turn

Niezck
2010-05-18, 07:19 AM
Not dimension dooring? And damn .... My plan fails then. Hmm, still got my permanent 20% miss chance. :)

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 07:20 AM
Which permanent misschance?

And I am in the forcecage (maybe for the next 40 hours), I have cover, you can't hit me. I think we are on an impasse:smallbiggrin:. I am the monk genius of rockettag.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 07:25 AM
Minor cloak of displacement :) yeah but I can keep summoning things etc ^^

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 07:33 AM
Minor cloak of displacement :) yeah but I can keep summoning things etc ^^

Inside of the forcecage you mean? Good idea. gives me something to do. The question is is it possible. And I can also summon, don't see the use though. Ah well, it's your turn.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 07:43 AM
Huh? Is what possible?

Also, I still have line of effect to you, through the bars in the cage. Just can't do any rays or the like, since they won't go through the cage.

So, let's start with a good ol' Dimensional Lock, focused on your chest. 20ft emanation from there.

[roll0] SR check

Oh and I totally forgot, you hit me with the AoO -through- my prismatic sphere, therefore hitting you with the effects. But meh, I missed it, and I've already retro-actively done enough :smalltongue:

Niezck
2010-05-18, 07:46 AM
Frig, didn't beat your SR.

Swift action to enter Immortal Fortitude stance, preventing hit point death

Oh, I should mention also, my armour's soulfire, therefore negating death effects (such as quivering palm)

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 07:56 AM
How could I hit you if i didn't beat your AC. If I would've hit you you wouldn't be able to cast because of the amount of damage. And you should've made a fortsave because of more than 50 damage.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 08:07 AM
Soulfire dude, prevents death effects. Massive damage is a death effect AFAIK.

Anyway, your turn.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 08:12 AM
And oke, but the safe would be 21 or so so easily made with a beginning safe of higher. How much hp do you have left?

I DD out of the prison immediatly next to mr Roc. And I smile

Niezck
2010-05-18, 08:53 AM
Righteo, and I'm still on full hp - 304.

Wingbind, cast defensively - [roll0] Everything but nat 1 succeeds.

Reflex DC 23 negates

[roll1] SR check

If you fail, all forms of flight cease to function and you fall to the ground immediately (or rather, slow fall, in this case)

(Actually, doesn't your slow fall only work when near a surface?)

EDIT: Typical, I don't cast defensively. In which case as soon as you hit me with your AoO I cast Wings of Cover to negate the attack as an immediate action. Not much point rolling tbh ...

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 08:54 AM
Near a wall yes.

Reflex: [roll0]

What do your summoned creatures do and between you and me there's a giant roc. I am next to it. In short no AoO from me.

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 09:34 AM
In my turn I full-attack the roc:

First attack that hits gets a +20 damage.
Attack: [roll0]

Niezck

Niezck
2010-05-18, 10:20 AM
You completely obliterate the Roc after the third or fourth hit.

My turn'll follow in a few minutes ...

Niezck
2010-05-18, 10:36 AM
I literally have no way to kill you >_>

My melee attacks hit you on nat 20s, and between your SR and epic saves I can't affect you with any spells. Now I know I should use shapechange or polymorph any object to make myself into something ridiculous like a great wyrm or an eldritch giant or some such. But meh.

I concede, kindly beat me to death :smalltongue:

(Or not, due to my stance ^_^)

Duskranger
2010-05-18, 11:11 AM
I have a better idea. If you want to fight a big badass devil in PvM that is.

While we fight a rift opens up and big badass devils appears. I picked Bell, because he is bad-ass and strong, if you want to play say aye.

He looks like a pit fiend and in his hand is a big flaming greatsword.

Roll initiative:

His: [roll0]

Mine: [roll1]

OOC: You know that as a dragon I actually destroy you faster than in this form. Because if you polymorph you lose all armor and stuff and therefore can use my Quivering Palm and kill you. Unless you succees on a willsave DC 35
