Daily effects are a go, but no prep rounds. Map is an infinite expanse of flat rock. Since it's just the two of us for right now, I won't even bother with a map; the only important details are distance from the ground and distance from each other. If anyone wants to try summoning/dropping battlefield control effects, they can whip up a map.

Since there's no ref, this will be based on honor. For the sake of clarity, let's say no editing posts; if you need to add something, do it in a new post. I'll post my daily effects in a moment.

200 feet works for me.

Well what do you know, a tie. :smallconfused: My dexterity is 14, so if yours is higher, I think that means you go first.

Niezck
2010-05-18, 02:29 PM
Yup, dex of 22.

I fly 60ft directly upward and begin casting (Spellcraft DC 19 to identify)

Quickened Assay Resistance

And again. (Spellcraft DC 22)

Ironguard

You're up.

Eurus

My spellcraft is +18, so I auto-pass the first one.

Hmm... let's see. Swift action to allocate essentia.

Current essentia breakdown:
7 in Vitality Belt
4 in Lightning Gauntlets
7 in Warrior's Soul
6 in Exalted Mantle of the Paladin

4 in prepared Incarnum Apotheosis spell

Soulsight and Midnight Dodge don't have any, but are treated as having 1 each.

Standard action to cast a spell, DC 23 to identify.

Incarnum Apotheosis, duration 10 rounds. All of my essentia receptacles are now treated as being invested with the maximum possible essentia.

Burning one turn attempt to Divine Impetus, and activating Travel Devotion as a swift action.

Move action to fly 90 feet toward you. With perfect maneuverability that's 60 feet up, and and 75 feet forward. Currently 125 feet away.

End turn, you're up.

Innate Counterspell to counter your spell, using a Reaving Dispel to steal the effect aswell. Also coupling a Countercast to include another spell. (DC 21 to identify)

Auto-pass.

Okay, 125 feet you say?

Move 50ft forwards and cast a spell. (DC 22)

Using my Arcane Mastery, I take 10 on my caster level check:

40 to beat your spell resistance, if any.

Antimagic Ray

Will DC 26 to negate

And another. (DC 20)

No SR.

Reciprocal Gyre

1d6 damage for each spell level affecting you (max 25d6)
Will DC 24 for half.

Damage from the Gyre: [roll0]

Yeah, that wasn't a mistake, I don't have any daily spells. >_>

You didn't roll an attack for that ray, but it probably won't matter. Will save: [roll1]

Niezck:Reciprocal Gyre was updated in the SpC to do 1d12 damage per spell affecting the target.

Random musings of an outside observer.

If you use an immediate action to counterspell me, you don't have a swift action on your turn to quicken a spell. Unless I missed something, you have to choose one or the other?

Regardless, Dispel doesn't suppress magic items unless you specifically target them (not just the person wearing them), and soulmelds are treated as magic items. So your targeted dispel doesn't get anything.

2010-05-19, 02:10 AM
Blech, is it too obvious I haven't played in a while? :smalltongue:

Can I change that to an area dispel targeted on you then, to cover all of your items?

Also, can I take back the quickened antimagic ray?

Eurus
2010-05-19, 03:45 AM
Well, magic items specifically aren't affected by an area dispel - if you want to dispel an item, you have to target it specifically. Very inconvenient, but it's a good thing, really, since PCs tend to be decked out like Christmas trees anyway and dispelling all of their items at once would be messy.

And while I'm not sure that I like the idea of you taking back your antimagic ray when I already rolled a save against it, I don't want to see you suffer for an innocent mistake, so yeah, go ahead and take it back.

Niezck
2010-05-19, 04:06 AM
Oh, hmm. Gah >_<

Well, your turn then I guess.

Eurus
2010-05-19, 01:30 PM
Alright, so. I'm 75 feet away from you right now, with no Incarnum Apotheosis since you countered it. So, I'll use Divine Might as a free action and initiate War Master's Charge.

[roll0]
[roll1] + [roll2] + [roll3]

Then as a swift action, I'll burn two essentia to use Azure Wrath, allowing me to initiate a maneuver as a swift action. The maneuver I use will be Hand of the Heavens' Judgment. DC 27 fortitude save or take nonlethal damage equal to your current hit points and some ability damage (which probably doesn't matter). If you succeed on your save, you take:

[roll4] x1.5

Then I'll use a turn attempt to fuel Divine Impetus for another swift action, which I'll use on Azure Wrath again. So now I'll try Diamond Nightmare Blade. If the concentration check beats your AC, the attack deals quadruple damage.

[roll5]
[roll6]
[roll7]

And... that's the end of my turn.

Eurus
2010-05-19, 01:31 PM
Gah. Not very good rolls.

Niezck
2010-05-19, 01:39 PM
None of the attacks hit - and I'll use Wings of Cover to block the line of effect for the maneuver, forfeiting my swift action next turn. (Since it's immediate - that's what happens, right? I'm still a bit hazy.)

Eurus
2010-05-19, 01:42 PM
Yeah, an immediate uses your next turn's swift.

Niezck
2010-05-19, 01:46 PM
Righteo, my turn then?

Eurus
2010-05-19, 02:07 PM
Yeah, your turn.

Niezck
2010-05-19, 03:26 PM
Incidently, can I use my updated (as per the OOC thread's suggestions, or atleast some of them) sheet, or should I just ignore any updates I've made?

Either way ...

I see your Diamond Nightmare Blade, and I call you a DNB.

Concentration Check - [roll0]
Attack Roll - [roll1]
Crit Confirm - [roll2]
Damage (X4 if conc hits, X6 if crit & conc) - [roll3]

If you can cast arcane spells or use invocations, you also take +2 to hit and +2d6 damage - [roll4]

Eurus
2010-05-19, 04:02 PM
I can't use arcane spells or invocations, so you just miss me. That all for your turn?
