This is probably my favourite webcomic around. The art style is...amazing, the story complex; it just seems to have a certain life.

I must warn you that the first chapter IS NSFW: the main character of that chapter spends most of her time naked, however, it isn't sexualized exactly- it's more like Dr. Manhattan; she's just naked coz she's naked.

Start from here! (http://www.meekcomic.com/2008/12/27/chapter-1-cover/)

After all that:

Lastest page. WHOA.

Weird, that drawing style looks oddly familiar. Is that from Henderson? :smallconfused:

Yeah I've been reading it for some while, definitely promising in the storytelling department. It also seems to be following three seperate characters allowing for some great multi-perspective fun.

Also I can't wait for the oppotunity to post the first four panels here (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/05/15/2-35/) out of context. :smalltongue:

Author goes by "Alexds1" and "Der-shing Helmer", the latter being apparently her real name ("Der-shing" is an odd first name so I'm not sure, but it seems that's it).

Fourth panel is win.

I've been reading it for a while now, definitely worth it. Great art to boot.

Woah. I suppose that takes care of the "man who hates in the name of love."

Ok, Dagre is now skyrocketing in the list of best webcomic villains.

Hum... 5 bucks say that Dagre killed her. :smallsigh:

I don't think he'd do that personally, although arranging it sounds likely enough. I doubt he'd be able to pull off something himself that wouldn't involve a LOT of blood flying everywhere and multiple misisng limbs.

I <3 the Dagre, and the Meek in general.

DAMNIT IT NEEDS TO UPDATE MORE.

Well, assuming that Dagre is the shadowy figure shown here (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/02/21/2-26/), he probably can be subtle enough when it suits his purposes. Besides, there's something very... non-solid about that giant tiger body. It seems exaggerated and kind of vaporous.

I was just looking for a The Meek thread, because I wondered what people would be saying about the latest page.

I'm a big, big fan. This latest chapter on Luca has made it shoot right up my list of top quality webcomics.

Luca is the best character. I hope things will get better for him later. (Better as in "not possessed by insane slime tiger thing anymore".)

You think he's possessed? I was more inclined to view Dagre and Luca's relationship in the same light as Mocheril and Angora's.

The whole 'with my fiery hands I burn' scene kind of says point of no return to me, but at the same time I'm sure he's done worse in the past. The interrogation room has a drain for a reason, after all - even if Luca wasn't necessarily the one making a mess.

Yes, I think so.

Literally and allegorically consumed by Dagre. (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/06/01/2-38/)

And how do you conciliate the hesitating, staggering "I am asking you both please for your help (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/06/20/2-42/)" and the wide-eyed, disheveled "there will be no negotiations (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/06/22/2-43/)".

It seems quite clear to me that he has been struggling between the Dagre's commands and his promise to Phe. But he's been broken, and (to keep nomenclature simple), Phe-Luca doesn't manage to remain on the surface for long before Dagre-Luca resumes possession.

Dagre is definitely a bad influence on him... and im still convinced that he killed her. I wonder what his reasons are, though. :smallannoyed:

I see it more as tipping the scales than taking control but I can absolutely see your argument. Maybe the next three pages will convince me.

I think if Lu ca was spea king in one syl la ble sty le it would show he was pos sessed. Be cause he does not, I do not think he is pos sessed.

Well, perhaps not literally. I remain convinced that Dagre has no true physical form, and what we see in the comic is more of a representation of a strong spiritual presence that identifies itself with the tiger. You'll note, for instance, that Luca's clothes are undamaged from the attack, save for some bloodstains that could have come from Luca's nosebleed. Also, Dagre's appeared in a less substantial form in the past (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/02/21/2-26/).

And how do you conciliate the hesitating, staggering "I am asking you both please for your help (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/06/20/2-42/)" and the wide-eyed, disheveled "there will be no negotiations (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/06/22/2-43/)".]

Of course, you still have to reconcile both of those with the resigned, yet committed, "Tell me what I have to do. (http://www.meekcomic.com/2010/06/07/2-40/)" Luca's a conflicted guy, and part of his begging for help may have been genuine, but he seems to have willingly thrown in his lot with Dagre. Besides, Mocheril describes him as "a man who hates in the name of love" (http://www.meekcomic.com/2009/05/27/chapter-1-page-30/) (unless that's a huge misdirection), which implies that he at least doesn't mind marching to war to avenge Phe.

That's not to say I think Luca's entirely himself; there's almost certainly some possession going on (as you point out, his delivery of "there will be no negotiations" is entirely too blank), but it could be more symbiotic in nature.

Thank you for introducing me to this comic! I was really impressed by the amazing art (especially where Dagre is concerned as well as everyone's expressions).

Anyway, I know that this thread may have gone cold awhile ago, but I do think that Mewtarthio AND Gez have got good respective points. I didn't even think about whether or not Luca is being possessed. It does seem to be a distinct possibility, although I do not feel wholeheartedly convinced at this point, based on the evidence provided.

I think that we will definitely have to wait and see on the matter, but I had a different theory about the Luca/Dagre relationship altogether. From early on, I had always assumed that Luca was transformed into human form. I think he's a huge crazy beast thingy just like Dagre, and that he's been forced into human shape for some reason. Might be the reason Dagre keeps calling him Bezo. Unless I missed something important along the way explaining that :B

But yeah, great comic, great potential, awesome time reading it.
