I feel the need to tell the playground about this. As my father and I drove past a water tower near where I live, I noticed some graffiti on it's side. I live in the county, so this seem rather odd to me. It's not very often I see graffiti around where I live so I look at it, and see something familiar. The drawing is, in fact, this:

In case somebody doesn't know what this is, this is the symbol for Half Life 2, a game I play often. Somebody sprayed it on the side of this water tower, in green paint. It really made my day. :smallbiggrin:

That... is pretty awesome. Almost as awesome as the person who printed out enormous HALO posters the day the Reach beta came out and put them up all over my school... :smallamused:

THANK YOU!!!! I have always wanted to play Portal, but I'm too broke to afford it! I may actually have to skip my plans this evening now just to play this!! . . . probably not, but still.

It doesn't matter, once it's on steam it's yours whether or not you finished downloading it, and you can download it as many times as you want afterwards.

It says updating steam when I click the Play Game thing. (And service not available).

Can I dl it at my leisure, or do I need to get Portal on steam first, before 24th?

You just need to have "purchased" Portal before the deadline, you don't have to download it by then.

Once it says that you have Portal in your games library, then you own it and whether the files for it are downloaded is irrelevant. Until then, the clock is ticking.

Wow, thanks for the Portal link. Now I'm freaking out because Steam won't install. Help? When I try to run the installer, a message pops up saying, "Error 1327. Invalid drive: E:\" I'm running Windows XP.

If I'm right, you don't need to install it. Just register an account, and 'purchase' it.

Nevermind, I fixed it. (Actually, I'm not even sure why it needed access to that drive, as it's a USB port, and doesn't seem to have saved anything there, but...)
