AZURE ZEPHYR
Welcome to the Spelljammer-class cruiser known as the 'Azure Zephyr'. Swirled, red and blue sails are the trademark of this very modern spelljammer.
The sides of this standard spelljammer are built of cobalt blue iron, and has artistic red swirls, freshly painted and designed by the on-ship painter (also a professional artist-- Zhako). This ship looks exactly as an imperial cruiser only larger, with 5 masts and made of metal not wood.

There are now 6 full officer quarters on this mid-deck cabin. The Captain's Cabin region as usual is to the rear of this cabin. Everything including the specialist bunks below are larger than the old cruiser ships. The sleeker design, and larger frame of the metal ship lends to more room, with less crew needed to run the whole thing.

The lower regions of the ship (rear Hold) are arranged so that 'specialists' are separated from the crew's main bunk-room and into small sleeping chambers, enough for gear, and a small padded bunk to stretch out on. Your things should be safe here.

'Officers or Nobles' receive special, slightly larger quarters.
A new 'guest' named Liam will stay near the Captain's quarters in a special room with his wife, Shrike. Liam is rumored to be a lesser known noble, which makes some in the crew even more paranoid of him. Near Liam's room are other ship 'officer/noble-types': Arha and Kerri. Kerri's officer room, has a small shrine dedicated to Isis and the goddesses. Arha is across the tiny hall from Kerri. Not all 6 of the officer rooms are occupied. Zhako and Bruug opted for specialist bunks.

Currently, there is no captain. Right now the trust of the crew has been put into the hands a future captain pro-tempore and noble-woman: Baroness Merie McAllister. As of Sunday, the day you saw the ship for the first time, Merie has yet to step foot on this thing. The wizard in blue has been showing you the ropes for a couple of days.

Olmeric the cook and Zhako the artist, have both been key to bringing order to this decimated crew that originated under the service of Captain Allie Alandra.

(OOC- All of you can lock doors to your rooms: specialists and officers. No PC is in the main bunk room.)

Many of you have been a part of the Allie's crew for a while, others don't even know her.

The current port in which the Zephyr is moored at is the military fortress city of North Zalbos. This fine military installation has done quite well for itself, and is a combination of military fortress and northern trade route. These two concepts make it a profitable city, if you had a smart business sense. As officers and specialists you have free reign of the ship and bridge, and only minor sailor duties.

The most interesting addition to the decimated crew is a kind ogre named, Bruug. It had been suggested by his friend at the employment office that he could be a vocal foreman. With his friends, Liam and Shrike, working with officers on the high-tech bridge* it will quickly be seen that this trio and a little black mouse with silver eyes -who sits on Shrike's shoulder- has some influence with the Baroness or the Guild in some way or other. Bruug will be asked to hold a rope, or more aptly on this ship crank or pull, perhaps tie stuff down. Olrik, Aust, and Arha will be called often to the bridge to talk with 1st officer Gertha, and will get to know one another if they desire. All are free to associate with one another on this ship. The crew and cook, are very busy, and for the most part will go about their business on the ship.

The two reclusive hobbits Salli and Calli may or may not be seen, and it depends on how Calli wants to be seen as to whether her fancy suit is seen or not. They will be given two neighboring bunks in the specialist quarters.
Bruug will be given a special room, which is actually a converted part of the stables, however it is respectful and clean, and looks like a legitimate ogre room with bed, and large dresser.

Most of you have stayed close to port, perhaps visiting the diverse market or theatre districts {North Zalbos is big, and one could get lost}. Aust has spent the entire stay here as a guest of the Baroness of North Zalbos {Merie McAllister}.

At Noon on Monday trumpets sound, and the townsfolk gather for the parade of the Baroness. A large entourage of the Baroness will accompany her from the castle. The city streets line with green/red soldiers and the colorful entourage of nobles and wizards in their 'house colors'. It makes for quite a scene into the harbor. The arrival from the palace is well heralded, and seen by most of the city as it descends the hill to the harbor. The crew is snapped to attention and ready when Merie strides aboard with the well-dressed moon elf. Everyone will stare at the appearance of this odd, friendly arrival. Merie looks at you all kindly. She is calm and keeps her voice low. "Excellent... well. I hate long good-byes... and I don't know what HE told you... She waves her hand at the wizard in blue, but keeps subtle and low. "There is an armada coming, and I don't think we want to be anywhere near this place. So... I'll let you practice what you learned, and lets go!" She smiles sweetly, and waves the wizard in blue off a little hurriedly with her hand in the air. "Off you go now. We don't need your trouble following us out to sea."

Merie will gather the crew on the deck of the ship, and stand above you all, on the now even higher bridge. Many city-folk gather to watch this dramatic young noblewoman mount her ship. "Let's sail!!!" By now this veteran crew will be able to at least operate the large ship's sailing functions. For now, the wizard's advice was to be low-profile on the high-tech stuff.
"No need to scare the common folk."

* The holographic scry-screen and magical star charts are only but a glimpse of this ship's capabilities. The wizard in blue will only be there to familiarize you with the strange vessel.

{OOC- Roleplay the day on the ship together or meeting Merie, you will be thrown together with the new folk. I may be able to respond in the next few days, but it is unlikely. So Merie will just all about getting out of North Zalbos.}

Aust will be staying in the captain's room with Merie for now. It is basically a fine apartment.

Arha

By preference, Arha will already be aboard by the time the Baroness and Aust make their appearances. She'll already have everything moved into her quarters and set up the way she prefers it.

She'll be on deck to see the departing festivities and she'll want to meet new crew members after the ship leaves port and she'll look through the crew for those new faces.

Although imagine her in a sailor type of outfit (and no, she doesn't know much at all about sailing)

Bruug

Standing a little over 8 ft. tall, Bruug stands out as an oddity, even if one could ignore his being an ogre. Close-cropped black hair; freshly washed, yellow-brown skin; and no stoop to his shoulders all mark him as different from most of his kin. An elaborate white leather vest worn unbuttoned shows off a heavily muscled torso and arms the size of a large man's leg. Besides the vest, Bruug wears a pair of simple, brown linen breeches; plain, leather boots; and an ornate, golden locket hung around his neck.

Attempting to stay out of the spotlight, Bruug will happily perform whatever duty the officers direct him to, not wanting to draw attention to himself. He will bow his head respectfully towards any officers that cross his path, and offer a bow to the Baroness should their paths meet.

Halfling Rogue/Dragon-Knight

Calli is 3'1" tall. She has long dark brown hair (for a Halfling) that reaches down to her backside. Her green eyes shine with mischief.

She will also have made her way to the ship as soon as she heard of it. She will be seen wearing the latest fashion in dresses when she is on deck, as will Salli. The only hint of the Dragon Scale that can be seen is the ever present Emerald Choker.

When she finds out that Baroness Merie will be taking the Captain's cabin with Aust, a part of her is just a tiniest bit jealous. That should be her and Allie's room after-all.

She also will make an attempt to greet the new crew. She's happy that one mercenary was given the boot. There'd have been trouble otherwise.

Once out to sea, she will change into her studded leather, still keeping the Emerald Scale hidden underneath, as a bikini.

Aust casually walks as the Baronesses escort along the parade route, he casually waves and embraces the public cheer as they go. Having seen the ship but forced to remain secret to it, it is still a surprise for all those involved - but this does not stop him from having some new clothes made for the occasion. After all, if you look professional and act confidently enough many people simply assume you know what you're doing. Aust of course will inquire beforehand if there will be a new uniform for the ship so that his choice of clothing will not clash, but so it remains a nice surprise for the captain he passes along his measurements to Percy via telepathy and has him either commission a new set of clothes or find a few singular pieces that will simply mesh well. He of course will pay Percy back for his troubles once they have everything loaded aboard the ship (if percy does not have the funds for this, Aust will direct him to his coin and have him keep it in his possession until they meet again).

Once dismissed for duties Aust will acquire his new clothes and then go to change. He keeps the white undershirt and tan pants from his nobles outfit, but has a new pair of black leather boots made that extend halfway up his calf and over his pants. A black leather belt aids him in keeping his shirt and new tan overcoat tucked in and secured. With his tan cap with the long bill, his custom black leather with metal scale gauntlets and black cloak hung from one shoulder Aust feels dressed for success.

He does feel bad about leaving the city to the siege of an armada, but if they are the primary target said armada may very well leave the city alone. Though the idea of taking away a group of the cities strongest defenders and a secret weapon of this caliber from the ports defense doesn't necessary sit well with him. He further ponders the fate of the their last ship, wondering if it will simply remain in dock, or perhaps used as a decoy to draw away attention - either way it doesn't seem like it will stay in tact for much longer, especially considering previous damage done to it. Aust will inquire as to the suspected purpose of the armada as well as the issues rattling around in his head in a respectful manner befitting a crew-member.

Dorothy, aka Shrike

Shrike is a tall, striking redhead, her hair cropped to just off her shoulders and her features mildly exotic, her muscles well-toned from life on the road and fighting. Although a mother (of two), one wouldn't know it from her figure, and she can usually be found in her favourite leather outfit.

She looks concerned when she learns of the approaching armada, frowning and squeezing Liam's hand. She's been doing her best to learn about how the ship works, though, and thinks that in a pinch she might be able to help out a fair bit...but agrees that, given their mission, getting away first is probably the best idea.

Once the ship sails, she heads up to the bow of the ship, the wind blowing softly in her hair as she gazes out across the sea. Eager to meet their new traveling compaions, a little sad that some old companions aren't with them, and overall looking like she's ready to get on with their mission for the safety of Sunhaven and her children...

Olrik is not particulary handsome, he bears a number of battle wounds, a stern countence and a small goatee and moustache. He has deep furrowed brows and a slightly tanned skin tone. His hair is partially cut with various tatooes intermingled across his scalp and further tatooes on his right forearm and left leg. Those that pay attention might notice the tattoos occasionally move and that he has an unusual mark on his forehead.

On the day of the departure Olrik keeps below deck till the ship has departed, not wanting to face the gathered crows of people. Once the ship is sailing though he comes above deck his green robes rippling in the wind. The new crew looks capable enough but then so did the crews of the last two expeditions he had been on. he takes note in particular of the ogre who moves about deck. He has seen ogres before of course but finds it strange that one has been recruited for this mission.

Liam is tall and thin with blonde hair and blue eyes. Most of the time, those eyes tend to follow Shrike around, consequently pulling up the corners of his mouth into a small smile. He will be open and pleased to discuss matters with anyone, despite being of lesser nobility - he seems relatively unconcerned about rank or status. As he ponders matters, he has a tendency to manipulate a gold coin along the back fingers of each hand, perhaps exercising them to keep his fingers nimble for arcane gesturing. His time in the north (and underground) has paled his usually tanned skin.

Arha

Arha will watch everyone with interest. After they're safely off, she'll approach Liam and Shrike. She's more interested in Liam, since he looks like he might be a spell caster of some sort? ((mostly from the arcane gesture remark)) She looks for other signs as well, such as spell component pouches.

Arha wears her tailor made sailor outfit that probably reveals quite a bit and her arms are marked up with half healed scars. She'll greet them politely with a smile (and no flirting). She can tell that they're very attached by Liam's behavior. "Good Afternoon, I'm Arha" She'll hold out one hand for a handshake.

Dorothy looks around as she hears somebody approaching, and smiles a bit as she sees the striking woman approaching, nodding in greeting. Her own outfit moderately revealing, but rather tight leather, and her complexion slightly pale as well.

She takes the offered hand with a politely firm shake, a hint of an accent in her voice as she speaks. "I'm called Shrike. It's a pleasure to meet you, Arha."

This ship is fast. Real fast. And you are zipping along eastward with the western winds. Some powerful jet propelled the vessel to tremendous speeds, which Merie put on full display once the docks were out of sight.

Immediately, just as top speed is made, Merie will order her officers to arrest Thobrick and his assistant. She wants them subdued, and brought to her feet on the main deck. Thobrick is a surly sea ranger who caused trouble on the last ship.

{If no one hops to it, Gertha and Olmeric will wrestle Thobrick to the ground. Others will tackle his assistant.}

Shrike and Liam will notice one of the veteran Lemurian sailors ducking low around them. He wears a ragged cap, and was one of the folk that jumped from the previous ship when Olrik saw the ectoplasmic monster 'attack' the old ship.

Jair Barik
2010-06-18, 08:59 AM
Olrik is quite surprised by this turn of events. Not the speed of the ship, he had been expecting such a thing, but in the 'arrest' of Thobrick. Nobody had particularly seemed to get along with him but still... he wonders precisely what thobrick has done to earn this treatment.

Bruug smiles as he shrugs. "It varies, I suppose. Mostly protection. And yourself?" Before he can hear the answer, Bruug will hear the arrest order. Glancing about, unsure which one it is, he will move to aid the 1st officer in apprehending the apparent criminal.

Lothmar

Aust squints ever so slightly at the order. "Understood," He adds casually as he walks away to aid in their arrest. I assume since she wanted thobrick and his assistant brought to her on the main deck, that he wasnt there and that most of the officers/crew who were on the main deck heard the order? Or was it an announcement over ship systems? Just trying to determine who heard it and peoples locations etc.

If Thobrick is unaware that he is about to be arrested - etc, Aust will approach most likely with whatever back-up shows up to also follow the order. He will move into close range drawing out his pair of masterwork manacles, ready to prevent him from drawing a weapon through unarmed combat and will wrestle him to the ground to prevent him from resisting arrest if necessary. "You and your assistant will disarm and accompany us to the main deck, this is non negotiable." Aust will add if the two are together. If there is no resistance he will manacle Thobricks right hand to his assistants left and lead them to the main deck and will force them to their knee's if necessary, keeping a close watch on both of them of course (Held action to stunning fist if they get uppity).

Pre-rolling these just in case so the scene can better be described if necessary. If Thobrick resists, he'll simply manacle both of his arms together to save time.

She's also trying to determine what sort of spellcaster Liam is by his gear or if she'll have to ask him to find out for sure. The problem is, she doesn't necessarily want to divulge her own preferences. Although he might get a hint from the half-healed scars on her arms.

Then the convenient interruption... She isn't surprised by Thobrick and his associate being arrested, she never liked him in the first place. She'll stand back and watch the excitement. If he tries to escape she might try something.

"Considering the nature and Severity of these crimes, I would normally side with an expedient execution... But to sooth suspicions and foster comradery between yourself and the new crew, perhaps it wouldn't be a bad Idea to humor those interested with proof to these charges." He has a casual look as if to say he thinks he has Thobrick well in hand and he wont question it if she wished to proceed for safety and securities sake and give evidence and testimony afterwords.

Of course, in that instance those of suspicion would likely still claim that such a quick execution was likely so the accused could not make a rebuttal to such claims, witnesses or even proof if presented. But, a position of command comes with the responsibilities of making such decisions after all. Aust even ponders if the captain would give Calli a warning or reprimand for challenging her new authority, but he'd have to wait and see. Until then, he simply pressed down with his hand to hold Thobrick in place as his fingers clenched on a nerve attempting to calm his panic. ~Stunning Fist DC 16 Fort~

Merie looks at the presented arguments in favor of Thobrick and the assistant. She shakes her head sadly, no.

Aust has no trouble keeping Thobrick subdued.

Merie likes what Liam has to say and smiles.

After listening to Bruug and Olrik, Merie speaks, "It is sad... but when you are at sea, there is no time to raise a jury. This one is a known spy, and works specifically with the admiralty-high command that is currently beginning a Civil War against my empress. We were wise to get out of North Zalbos, for a whole load of wizards was coming. I didn't like that castle anyway.

I have no time for this cur. This one has and still is now, a mere 'vessel' for the wizards of the rebels. I can prove to you this one is used as a conduit, if any of you were experts you could see this. My wizards have been monitoring the old ship since it arrived in my home-port.

I have no time for this. He has merely been helpful to regain your trust. This one is evil through and through. At least the lot of you have loyalties in the same location." She doesn't seem to look at anyone in particular. "Unless there is anyone proving he's not a spy, please..."
Thobrick and the assistant plead, Thobrick promises to help fight the admirals.

Merie turns cold-hearted, and unfazed by his cries. "You've been given enough chances. The real reason I left North Zalbos was to guarantee a 'fair' trial for you!!" She is just about ready to kill Thobrick. Merie seems cruel even to Aust, for the most part, he might've even thought she was unadventurous and dull.

A few extra magic items are gained, a suit of studded leather, two minor long swords, potions, and even fancy boots. Merie has these two frightened men stripped to their underwear. On Thobrick's possession, tucked into his leather jacket, is an envelop with a lipstick kiss on it.

Within this already opened letter is a handwritten message from a woman named, Jadizz. Arha will have messed around with the empress's niece once, her last name was Jadizz.

All officer/specialists can read the note:

Roger-
Excellent work. Your liberties with 'Captain Red' have been overlooked by the my master. The rebels are involved here, and if we prove this, Empress Arrianna will have a short reign.
Kill the doppelganger and aid the White Drow.

PS- Remember your promise.

Aust's Read:
Thobrick seems to be telling the truth. Which only makes him more guilty in the taking of Captain Allie and the Rebellion. Corporal Wendell Yerdo seems to be merely an evil lackey. He likely only answered to Thobrick, possibly a higher-up in the Sea-ranger Union.

Main Deck:
Captain Merie standing on the polished blue wooden deck -only a veneer over the metal frame- will look from Olrik to Aust, "I don't care what happens to these two. I don't want them on this ship past dinnertime. I believe the Moon Elf can make great use of them." Merie smirks at Aust sharing his secret, but only a little.

Thobrick will confess to providing the White Drow with useful information to murder Indiga; Yondrick was to be killed later by he and Yerdo. Thobrick confesses trying to get a pardon, but it only makes Merie more swift in her judgment. Thobrick will plead, and as he gets really pathetic and almost sympathetic, Merie the noblewoman loses all composure.
The delicate woman throws herself physically onto the 'pinned' sea-ranger. Merie's hands alight with flame, and her eyes flare red, almost demon-like. She begins to strangle Thobrick, burning his neck as he screams. She cries hysterically, "I'm sure the Comtess's complaints fell on equally as deaf ears when you raped her!!!" She will kill this man in seconds right here in front of the crew, her hands will char Thobrick's head right off.

{OOC- Arha and Liam will have been around Merie enough to realize she is not necessarily greater than them in power.}

Olmeric will raise a chopping knife, and behead Yerdo if he is not stopped. He too has heard enough of this 'trial'.

Olmeric will follow through with his beheading when Merie incinerates Thobrick's neck. This frail wizard-noblewoman looks out of place with blazing hands burning the sea-ranger's head off. Roger Thobrick's death is violent and gory, and the spectacle will awe the crew and silence them the rest of the day.

Merie will collapse weeping. Zhako will sweep her up and likely with Aust's help take care of the distraught noble. Gertha the big orc lady and 1st mate of the ship will take care of the signal calling while Merie recovers for the night.

After this dramatic execution {unless anyone wants to stop it}, the bodies will be unceremoniously disposed at sea, and night will fall.

'I really should have ordered them to remain silent when not answering questions, but at least they weren't simply put down without being given the benefit of the doubt - besides there were things that needed to be known. Well, you learn.' Aust adds thinking to himself drawing his hands away as the Captain bears down upon Thobrick in an inflamed rage.

Aust stands from his position and turns slightly so that his cloak takes the brunt of the splatter from the chop's as he is still quite close and simply sighs wiping a splotch of blood from his cheek with his thumb and licking it clean.

Aust will accompany Zhako in escorting the captain back to her room where he will help console her grief as best he can. "Apologies Captain, we should not have dragged out those affairs to this point." He adds referencing her obvious breakdown. He tries to think of something original, or hell even cliche to say to console her - but that scene simply reminded him of how he reacted to his own friends killer... Then again that was a monster without intelligence or pity as far as he could tell. "Im just sorry I dont have something better to say," He adds taking a seat nearby, deciding that talk may not be the best thing at this time and that simply being there for now might be the best thing he could do... After all, he was never very good with this emotional stuff and death often changes one's outlook on things for the bleaker - like a bit of every color is taken from the world you used to know was so vibrant.

Aust of course was awake, hell he was always awake it felt... The only time he actively slept was to kill time or to heal horrible life threatening injuries. "Hmm, not you... Not me. If this is another attack or assination, Aust was not about to be drawn off so easily by a feignt to leave the captain alone to an assassins blade. There are 6 officer cabins, in addition to the captain's quarters at the rear of the deck cabin. Arha could be the first one to the locked door.

Aust would likely be in the cabin-hall right near Arha moments later - he, of course, entering from Merie's captain's room. Merie will throw on her nightgown and follow behind Aust. These two merely need to open the main door to the captain's suite to see the action in the hall.

Liam and Shrike likely won't be much later to the hall behind Aust, but Liam might want to pull on his robe, and Shrike will need to throw on her studded leather pants and jacket to be decent. They too are near the scream in the cabin; Liam was given an officer's room because of his nobility. {Which doesn't seem to be rare on this ship. Liam, Arha, Merie, and even the little black mouse are related to some king or queen... and likely the rest of you could trace yourself to one king or another. OOC- Even if your PC doesn't know it yet. :smallamused:}

Bruug will get to the cabin entrance from the main deck likely right after Aust enters from Merie's room. The best-ogre-ever knows right where the scream is. And he knows one of the 'special' ladies are in trouble. He would hope it is not Shrike. He might be relieved to see Liam stepping out into the hall pulling his robe on. Bruug's ears though drew him to the priestess's door, where all in the hall are gathered. Bruug is cramped in this small hall, and likely just has his head poking in at the crowded scene.

These officer-doors are reinforced metal, but Bruug will have no trouble busting the door down in a second, bending it off the frame. {OOC- Other ways can be used to open it...}

Salli below decks will cling to Calli. "Don't let them find me." The two hobbits will hear the commotion above. Calli will realize the dagger she holds now, is the sonic dagger of the sceptre.

Beyond the Open Door:
However, the door is opened will reveal the scene within:

The words and description of Zhako the artist will ring true, when those of you gathered in the hall see with your own eyes, the lithe, but sexy form of the White Drow. She wears tight fitting white ninja garb that leaves nothing to the imagination. Though some might want some more ample geography, we are talking about an elf. If anything her odd stance, in a near crouched position looks wrong, even if it is limber. On her shoulders she has the limp, bloody form of the priestess Kerri.

The moment the door is opened the crouched ninja elf, with a white top-notch looks at you with silver goggled eyes, and tosses a snake at your feet. Immediately the snake begins to grow. Liam and Arha's eyes flash, perhaps for different reasons. One thing the snake looked like it was becoming was very familiar to them and their studies. The Marilith demon was one of the most dangerous.

If he reaches the door before the others Olrik may attempt to fire sonic rays at the door hinges to speed up its removal. Though weak against living creatures the sonic power is quite apt at taking down harder substances such as metal or wood.

However the door is opened Olrik is uncertain what to make of the drow or the growing snake so for the time being he opts to go with the defensive approach and activates a force screen in front of himself.

Aust examines the area around him as the others gathers, he attempts to formulate a strategy but it mostly falls apart as soon as the door is opened.

'Well there goes the stealthy approach... Well, might as well move on to the direct approach then, if anyone's going to take a hit it might as well be me.' He thinks to himself with an irritable sigh as a snake is thrown to the floor and begins to grow.

"No way im giving you time to slip away again," Aust adds slipping through the doorway and spring rolling past the growing creature to engage the Drow and hopefully dislodge the priestess from her grasp in the process. "Armor, Shield to me on nights wind!" Aust adds activating his armor and shields called function and equipping himself in mid flip so it looks as if he's spinning in uniform and as he turns around a final time his Mithral Chain shirt and shield appear equipped on his person.

Tumbling through all squares the creature threatens, If the White Drow is only 15 feet from the door then I can do it on a Dc15 I cant fail even on a 1 unless you're imposing the 1&20 on skills are automatic failures and success or there's some other penalties- in which case i'll roll just to be safe. If she's further then that, I'll attempt to move base speed which is a DC25 - since there's only one creature im avoiding it's only one roll, but if I fail I essentially moved adjacent to the snake creature and it gets an attack of opportunity. If she's further then that, well damn this is a big room and i'll take a second move action to get adjacent.

If Aust establishes the grapple, he will probably grab the white drow by the shoulder and use her a secure point to sling himself around behind and get her in a choke hold, putting the drow between himself and the snake. "I'd call off your beast now, unless you want this to get nasty - " He adds not feeling completely sure about his current state - but feels better knowing that it's likely if she has the creature attack it's almost just as likely to strike her as it is to strike him.

Arha can switch to the demon form, and move to a safe point. She may 'like' the White Drow, but she doesn't need to trust it. Kind of like a wild boyfriend. Arha can put herself in a safe position away from the Marilith. THAT monster is surely a danger to her and the crew. :smallwink: The White Drow avoids Arha's disrobing spell this time!

Aust knows there is a ventilation system, Merie talked about it, and the filtration system. If needed a whole force bubble could encase the ship, or even specific areas. Travel in gaseous form through the ducts could get dangerous if the wrong route or bad luck happens. The air system goes to each area of the ship, so poison gas can be quarantined, or even ogre-magi.

Aust can tackle the White Drow and even drain her if he likes... :smallcool:
She will ignore all his threats and take any damage he gives her.

Shrike puts up a shield of force, Olrik will notice her subtle manifestation.

Olrik follows suit and does as the young red-head does. In answer to his question the White Drow hisses in the drow dialect. "Die Elan scum!!"

Calli and Salli can make their way to the deck. Salli refuses to be left alone.

The great Marilith grows to full size filling the priestess's room, and coiling Aust and the White Drow in her snake-body. This demon is one that is half gorgeous human female, with six athletic arms; hips down is all snake. Growing in her six hands, and covering the six bare breasts matching the sets of arms are 6 black wicked-looking swords. Aust will find himself pulled off of the White Drow as if he were a rag doll. Aust loses grip of the White Drow.

The injured White Drow will Plane-shift away, activating the pretty platinum-diamond amulet at her bosom. The White Drow escaped again, but she left plenty to deal with for now. Aust will be relieved, he forced the ninja to drop dead Kerri, her chest cavity open, heart gone.

With the White Drow gone, Illanee the new allied drow fires her arrows at the lady-demon, with a snake for a lower half. Her shots likely would have missed the White Drow. In this case the demon's tough skin merely deflects the arrows.

With the White Drow already gone, Liam can rethink his action, and Bruug can consider bashing the Marilith. {OOC- I will also allow a retro for Illanee if need be, and she can start the new round.}

I've seen this things grapple, I utterly believe I could have lost that roll to hold on. xD - And of course I got pulled away before she engaged the trinket, so sadly no attack of opportunity there. Oh, right slam damage. [roll0] DC 17 Fort. If I successfully drained the level tell me so I can gain the +5 temporary hit points for an hour associated.
Tumble[roll1] Im going to attempt the DC 25 to move base speed of 20 (vampires have slightly higher Gaseous form speed), unless a half of 10 would get me to either the doorway or to the vent where I could let the systems intake pull me further (if it is intake, wow that'd be sad trying to move against the AC blower), in which case i'll use the DC 15 version. Im not taking any chances versus these bad ass blades, my DR in this form may be 10/Magic, but I get the feeling these weapons are magic so that could be painful.

If I still legitimately have to break the grapple and incorporeal doesnt simply let me escape (since I didnt think this thing had ghost touch equivalent), let me know so I can modify.

"Uhm, yes I don't suppose we can talk about this... No?" Aust adds struggling slightly, becoming uncomfortable from the pressure. "Yes I was afraid of that, you're going to hurt me now - Oh, yep - most likely." He adds with a slight cough. "Well that's a shame, so many women just so impulsive to get right to the physical, no 'how do you do,' no 'can I take you out to dinner,' no 'Would you mind terribly if I said I had a crush on you in the most literal of sense?'"

'Do I run or do I fight... Run or fight... Dammit, Screw this.'

"Well it's been fun." Aust adds as he suddenly turns incorporeal and the creatures crushing grip collapses and expunges him into the air like the cloud of gas he has become. If he's close enough to make it back to the doorway he will hover back towards the main collection of heroes and into the hallway, but if he's still on the far side of the room he'll likely try to make for the ventilation to escape. Aust is slightly ashamed he didn't continue to fight openly to the point where he'd be forced to retreat to his coffin, but the other part of him feel's he may be more effective if he tries something else.

A moment later the ogre is covered in shining plate-mail. Drawing his dagger, he curses under his breath as he attempts to make his way into the room to confront the demon. "Move people! Make way! Shrike swears roundly in the drow language as the White Drow escapes; it's quite possible that her words are enough to make even Liam blush (which might take quite a lot, considering). Raising her free hand as she feels the sudden rush passng through her from her husband's (touch :smallwink:) spell, there is a sudden CRAK! of energy - and a solid bolt of energy, crackling with electricity, lashes out at the six-armed demoness!

I'm assuming she got the INT boost before being summoned :smallcool: and is wearing her headband.

Shrike has a measley manfester level of 8 when using this power (6+2 from the electrical bit), so hopefully that won't come into play.

{OOC- Aust took no damage when the Marilith relieved him of the White Drow. Apparently the orders there were to free her 'master'. }

Liam with his continual telepathic bond can connect to his wife in many ways, his magical Shield will keep them safe a little longer.

Bruug can squeeze his way in, and get a cramped battle axe blow on the demon. The ogre will block the doorway into the priestess's room, his axe not at full swing mode deflects off the tough skin of this demon snake-lady.

Arha's dark energy fizzles, this demon's spell resistance even higher than any drow she has encountered. The allied drow {Illanee} will know this too.

Aust turns to gas and moves to the ventilation shaft. The demon-lady hisses angrily at the gaseous Moon elf.

Demon spell resistance is helpless before the mental power of psionics! Shrike's manifested electricity crackles through the air and fries the demon lady a little! The evil snake-lady ducks her a head a bit from the electrical energy.

Olrik finds these dark magic weapons more powerful than he at first thought. Even so, he does damage them severely, he can tell the black metal is weakened. She then curses all-things psionic in several demon dialects too foul to print here.

Salli and Calli will see that Bruug is filling the hallway before them, so they will need to squeeze past the drow, demon-lady, and ogre to get to the demon. "Doesn't look any fun to me..." Salli sighs.

'Captain' Merie shouts up at the ceiling. "Computer! Seal off spelljammer! Shields on!!" You see nothing different, though some of you with good hearing will hear a minor power surge.

The Marilith seems to come alive and with its tail thrashes out at the room bending the walls, and expanding this room into the others by bending the metal walls. She destroys the fine blue wooden veneer that gave the officer room its style. She the tries to attack Bruug, and does so quite effectively. Even in the cramped quarters she can wail on the ogre mightily with her many black swords.

This demoness is a blur as she shreds Bruug, he'll stand no chance, and already Lady Merie is passing up one of her personal elixir's of Heal. She pulls it from her bodice, a small tiny silver crystal vial. Bruug is cut badly!
{total damage: 49} Bruug is thankful that she too fought at a disadvantage in these cramped quarters. However, the way her tail was crushing the surrounding walls it might soon be very open.

Olrik takes in the actions of those around him and comes up with a new plan of action based upon his observations.

Okay then, those are strong weapons, might be better to let them stay so we can use them later...assuming they don't unsummon when we kill this thing that is. Looks like its magic immune but that other psions powers seemed to hurt it. Can't tell anything else though other than electricity seems to harm it, so lets stick with what I know.

Lacking the power to do another split shot Olrik instead focuses everything on a single incredibly painful ray of lightning. This was really going to hurt him...

Assuming the demon is still alive come Olrik's initiative he fires a single Overchannelled Anarchaic graced ray of lightning at it spending a wopping 10 power points to enhance it.

Aust leers in gaseous form from the ventilation, pondering whether he should go around and make an appearance somewhere else or if he should re-manifest in the flesh and continue - in his current confinements he may move faster and with better maneuverability in his current form. He watches the creature for a moment thrash about wildly smashing the walls in and he makes a slight noise as if to imply 'glad that's not me,' as his vision pans over to the priestess body. He scans to see if the Drow had left anything he might be able to use, after all it's not likely he'll do much against this creature on his own but perhaps the priestess had a holy weapon (enchanted or otherwise) that he could attempt to use or some scrolls and potions or something the other casters could use against this creature or for themselves.

He will not make a move to physically attempt to gather anything unless he see's it, as he is not foolish enough to skulk out there unless the creatures attention is turned away from him at the moment.

Spot[roll0] Im basically just looking for an interesting opening or inspiration, since Aust will only get one standard action before he's likely sent packing with his limited hp against such a creature. There's not an obvious Shadnelier or ventiliation duct that I can drop on top of this creature and pin it's arms to its sides for a round while it makes a strength check is there? ~chuckle~

OOC- Sonic Psionics have been substituted for the above damage by the psions.

Illanee tries to tumble into the small cabin room and cannot for Bruug and the Marilith face off. She can try to make difficult shots through the small crack by Bruug, unfortunately her bow string snaps. It is not a permanent break by any means, and she might be able to restring it, but it would take a moment.
{Fumble chart break!}

Liam tries to lower the spell resistance, but the spell is resisted by the she-demon's fortitude.

The tiny bit of elixir relieves Bruug's pain, and his slash wounds close. At this point he may be missing his big fancy plate mail. He feels 100% at the moment. {Bruug is never outclassed, only outgunned!}

Arha will be even more frustrated as her well placed cone doesn't bother the Marilth. Spell resistance again!

Aust will see Kerri's bedside table/drawer {she was a human priestess}, she also has a gear-pack under her bunk, but the whole place now is filled with this large Marilith's tail which is thrashing and smashing about.

There is no way Shrike can get into the priestess's room, even if she squeezed by Bruug, for the Marilith fills the room with her coiled snake-body. She does manage to cause more sonic damage, and the demon continues to spew demonic curses at the psion pair.

The opening to the priestess's room has been battered bigger, leaving some of you a glimpse of the demon beyond. This 'glimpse' is all Olrik needs as he sends forth a sonic blast that shutters the Marilith and she screams loudly in pain, her voice sick and evil. Olrik sustains a little pain himself from the intense use of psionic powers.

Calli will notice a young sailor fellow {from the Vasser hires} rush to the main deck of the ship. Only Calli and Salli among the rest of you notice him, he is frantic, scared, and panicked. "No! No! Not like this!?! It is not supposed to happen like this!!! This DOESN'T happen!" He is one of the Lemurian sailors who leaped into the sea when the ectoplasmic monster flew over the ship. He is being chased by the fellow who leaped off the Black Tornado with him. These two less than brave fellows might seem crazy as they will make their way by Calli and Salli into the officer's cabin. Both of these fellows now wear the crew blue jumpsuit, and are some of the few crew who stayed on after the transfer to the Azure Zephyr.

Captain Merie in the cabin hall is oblivious to anyone outside, at this point she is talking to the ceiling, and asking this 'computer' to: "Scan all planes near the ship for potential dangers."

Even standing defensively Bruug can only brace for more pain. Merie tells all of you. "I have few more of those elixirs, but we best kill this thing soon!" {Bruug slash damage: 69}

'No way i'll be able to easily get to her supplies, I may even get pummeled by that tail if I try... But, better to be noble about it - guess i'll serve as a distraction after all.' Aust thinks to himself in a hesitant manner as he returns to his physical form behind the Maralyth.

'Hopefully it will be distracted enough dealing with the ogre until I get into position...' He thinks hopefully charging into the fray to flank the creature from behind in an attempt to grab and limit the warrior demoness's upper body movements to prevent it from slashing up his crew-mates with the weapons as easily. He attempts to land his feet on two lowest set of arms where he will try to push down with his legs while looping his arms under the second and top set attempting to pull them back. "HURRY! He sighs with a slight sense of relief at this as he finishes the job making sure to pull the rent pieces apart if they are still together and then wrap them in a small cloth or a sack for disposal momentarily. He gives the ogre a nod of slight respect for the interesting maneuver before he goes over to investigate the clerics body.

"Hmm, heart removed just like last time..." He adds feeling her skin for a moment, he ponders if the kill is still fresh enough - but then again he's unsure if he'd be successful at anything other then feeding as he's never converted anyone yet and even if he did, he couldn't be sure if he could control their actions like certain other broken bastards he's spawned thus far - thus making them a risk to the crew. Probably best to just let her rest, he contemplated closing her eyelids and giving a prayer in elvish to Isis to watch over her servant on her journey into the afterlife.

If things haven't been disturbed at this point, Aust will examine her person a little more closely. "I wonder if the white drow was simply moving the body to a new location for unknown purposes or if she suspected our intrusion soon and wanted to take something specific with her that she didn't have time to look for..." He humms slightly holding his chin. "But if that was the case and it was something truly important and not simply just trying to deprive us of her old possessions, I doubt she'd simply leave the body after the creature freed her from my grasp." Aust adds continuing to search.

If someone tries to interrupt him, or doesn't like him doing that he'll begrudgingly allow them to handle the body and will move his investigation to the gear pack and the table of drawers.

The young man standing in the crowded hall gapes still at Liam and Shrike. He had been ducking his head low since Bruug, Liam, and Shrike joined the crew. He had pulled his blue cap low over his eyes. With the hat now off, you can see the wisps of lighter reddish-black hair, growing out beneath the blue-black hair he had dyed to look more like a typical Lemurian. His face was strong, a more attractive version of Liam and Shrike's old friend Daen. He is athletic, but not as bulky as his late biological father.

'Little' Daen breaks into a spontaneous cry and hug at the same as he throws his arms around Bruug. "Bruug!! You... You look so... I've missed you too." He hugs his parents as well, being careful with his more 'delicate' parents Liam and Shrike whom he dwarfs in muscle, but looks Liam right in the eye at 6'4".

Daen recovers from his emotions and answers Olrik, "I am Daen duLiam* I came from the future to save my parents from the White Drow. I am afraid I have already messed things up..." He goes to his mother and cries, "I tried mother. I did what the seer told me. I stayed alive. When the ectoplasmic monster came my friend and I jumped overboard... and when there was trouble on the deck I hid below decks with him like a coward when most of the crew on the Tornado died. I knew I had to stay alive... to protect you. Now... it might be ruined. Things are different from what I've been told. Now it doesn't matter... but you are alive... Titania told me not to go..."

He looks around a little uncomfortable as the marine realizes all look at him, "I too am a psion... though I have not been able to manifest as much as Olrik, I believe I am equivalent to my mother in power."

"My apologies if the shambler scared you. i assure you I meant no harm by it, only to try and lure the admirals into the open. It was under my complete control and I directed it to not harm anyone, only to create the impression of danger."

Illanee speaks directly to the one that challenged her, noting her tendency to point that sonic dagger pretty freely.

"I'm Illanee Els, daughter of Eilistraee, I'm here with my young friends, as she said."

Bruug is caught off-guard by the hug, although he eventually returns it one-handed. He nods in respect as Daen tells his story. "You did the best you could. Things don't always go as you plan, despite how hard you try."

Turning towards Calli, he nods in respect to the little halfling. "I admire your spirit, but things are safe for the moment."

Daen is tripping out on Bruug, "I know its you... but you are so different. I know you well in the future..."
When Shrike embraces 'young' Daen... who is right now older than his mother. He is speechless, "I only saw you... in the fey-lands..." His own eyes well-up with tears, but he chokes them down. "You were dead by the time Titania let me leave. You were always a young mother, but you're still a teenager! I came too soon!!" He suddenly realizes his horror. "YOU WERE OLDER when she killed you both. I should've listened!!!" His face turns pale, and his head reels. To catch his breath he rushes outside to the railing and pukes. His friend, a more slight marine in the blue 'unie' goes over to aid him. He tucks his head behind the cap to be inconspicuous.

Captain Merie says nothing, but is curious about this mysterious marine, and now looks at the friend comforting Daen. "And then who is he REALLY?"

Merie will overhear Olrik and chuckle. "Funny, you should mention that. Indiga made sure to have Zhako record that in his diary. I have been reacquainting myself with the current bunch of rascals. As well as doing some of my own research in the meantime." She winks at Arha on that one, still maintaining a sense of cool and urgency at this grave-time.

Illanee may be Shrike's mentor, but for an elf she is still a young woman. {In this world, Elves live for thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of years. They are kin to the fey.}

Side-Note on Ship:
Liam and Arha will be pleased to know of the virtual-library, and mini-laboratory. There is a limited number of reagents and chemicals here; the library is a data-base, and wizard answer system; a service that Merie pays for. Basically, it is a way to hire young wizards at the universities. There is a wizard system of universities. It still takes time, but already Arha and Liam may find themselves slacking in ship duties... but then on this ship it seems to run itself, and almost does.

Merie will insist that her specialists introduce themselves to her virtual-library while going to the Accursed Isle. It won't be long, for shortly she's going to put this ship into hyperdrive. She wants to get away from the fishermen and normal patrols. No need to spread rumors, this massive blue metal ship is a sight for miles around; the common sailor might find it quite frightening to behold.

Liam goes to the rail and stands by Daen in case he needs help. "Whatever's done is done, son... don't worry about it too much. You probably shoud have avoided taking my name as part of your own... it means 'faithful protector' and one thing I've learned about names and symbols is that they act in and of themselves... or not at all." Daen recovers, getting close to his father. "I was safe alright. Too safe. I feel the fairies made me soft. And now..." He looks a little annoyed at Bruug for a moment, but more at himself. "I really #^@&ed things up. I think I was told the wrong thing this time on purpose..."

About his brother he shrugs, "Don't worry about him. He's busy saving the last of the elves. He took more after you dad. Loves to cast spells."

Young 'Joe' is alarmed, and skittish when Bruug walks up to him. "Ah, man! You're gonna kill me now. I can never go back... Hold on. Don't panic!" Joe bows submissively before Bruug at the same time becoming several humanoid races at once, however, the blue suit he wears remains the same. 'Joe' finishes and looks up, now as a black skinned Antarian woman with a big frow, the blue cap rests on her head almost comically. "I am no doppelganger! I am fey. A changeling. And I am the so-called protector of your son. Future-Bruug and Titania are gonna kick my ass now! What you need to do is get us, back to the future before we cause any other trouble!" As the strong voluptuous black woman she stands, still shorter than Bruug, but taller than Daen and Liam. The frow reaches up to Bruug's chin.

"You can't detect us, because we are a particularly insidious people." 'Joe' smirks amusingly at Olrik. "My Alliance name is Jona."

In the Library:
Using the library Arha can learn some simple ingredients, but the wizard-servers begin to grumble a little on the virtual library. Merie will even ask why Arha is so interested in poisons. Once Arha learns to mix the poison herself, she can get the dagger to manifest it; for specific monster/animal poison a token and ceremony are needed.

Aust appreciates the convenience of this distraction as no one has yet even though to question him too much, I mean why would they when there was something people could center themselves upon? Search [roll0] (Forgot to roll this for checking the body/doing inventory etc according to my last post.)
Spot vs Disguise [roll1]

Aust moves to leave the room, after all one cannot prepare the body for a proper burial at sea without the proper supplies to prepare the body - but he stops to talk to the captain. "Im not going to say if im one for believing these kind of phenomenon or not, but we've already had a doppelganger masquerading as crew before and spies amongst our vary numbers... So forgive me if the whole 'we're from the future but we've been with your crew the entire time and still managed to make the cut onto this very exclusive vessel as well' doesn't leave me in a more welcoming attitude towards them." Aust adds with a slight hint of huff to his voice. "Figured i'd at least voice the possibility, but it seems you all have a better understanding and acceptance of the circumstance - so feel free to put my paranoia to ease with a bit of explanation later when free, but for now I think i'll get back to work and let everyone enjoy the reunion - a lot of damage to see to."

Aust does not even want to begin fathoming things like time travel, such roads only lead to madness and paradoxes and simply grips his hand further as one of the two begins to show off their ability to shape change as if to say with body language 'oh come on! Daen will enjoy the family hug.

Daen looks Bruug right in the eye and nods, "Yes! Of course! That's why you even considered this whole harebrained idea. The elves figured a way to bring her back and get her off the planet with the other elves in the future."

Aust will find a locket, and a magical bodice, and some other formerly minor magical items of use in and out of bedroom on Kerri. A lot of things here are broken, she was battered more when the Marilith lashed out at the room. She is a bloody pulp right now, but the moon elf can find some recoverable items.

Daen explains to Aust, "Don't blame Joe. Joe is just following me. If you remember we all came aboard at Vasser together. I helped load your 'crates'." He chuckles and laughs. "Twice!"

Daen tries to comfort his mother, "But, we can stop them now! I won't let her... You see I am going to tell her..." Sensing Arha's intent, Daen will gather himself and approach the demon-lady. "You can't kill her. That's the exact issue at-hand: We can't kill the assassin. That's Sabriel's daughter. She thinks my parent's are responsible for the death and abyssal imprisonment of her's. Believe me future-Bruug said if I let Sabriel's Daughter die in saving my parents... ooo-wee... He'll be steamed. Future-Bruug has moods... he tried to have you guys raised, but demons had your souls trapped. I couldn't let it be..."

What has happenned, or perhaps it might be will happen,n that causes such a powerfu, magic or whatever you used to travel, to head back to now? The protection of ones family is indeed a noble cause but this... this seems to be something more and I feel it would be best to know right now wether or not it is at all relevant to our current goal. Nearly swooning, she clings tightly to her husband, collecting her thoughts.
"If she's Sabriel's daughter...is there...any way she could ever be reasoned with? Actually being spoken to face to face, is there any way she could understand?" she asks, shaking her head after a moment, and blushing as she hears Liam's description of her. Daen is fully recovered from his puking, and as he comes face-to-face with some of his closest loved ones, he seems to get stronger. Surging with the strength of the great warrior that was his former Y-donor. He looks at Bruug seriously, "By the way, we know in the future, that Sariel is no drow. She's all wood elf, but that really doesn't matter. Before my parents joined the ship, exactly who the White Drow was, wasn't important. If I'd come out earlier, she'd have known and killed me. As is, she will come back, and she will attempt to kill all 3 of us here. I am sure she now knows Jo and I are aboard." He nods to the tall, warrior Antarian woman with a frow, and blue suit. "The drow brainwashed her, and I think she dyes her hair... I heard Sariel got taken during my parents captivity with her in the drow Underdark. That was what... uhm... 'future' Bruug told me." He seemed about to say something else before substituting 'future'.

Daen looks up when Olrik speaks of Jinifir Kali. "The sea princess? I know of her."

Captain Merie looks at Olrik as well and raises an eyebrow, "Yes, I too know this young woman. Do you... know her?" She seems particularly interested. {Liam, Arha, and yes even Calli! will have heard of the pretty human sea princess. She went missing a few years back. Towncriers scoured everywhere for months. The sea emperor is the wealthiest human on the planet.}

For Those Wanting Time to Pass... :smallcool:
The rest of the night and morning will be uneventful.

Despite a very morose crew, things will be smooth. Sea traffic is quite busy, and the ship is making full speed to open ocean. Normal sea travel to the Accursed Isle could take months, at least several weeks in a good wind.
Merie smiles, "On this thing, we'll get there in a week."

Daen and Joe will continue to sleep in the crew quarters, and will insist on it. However, the damage is done, and the crew now looks at them suspiciously. Most of them take Olrik's side on things. Olmeric the cook, and heart of the ship, will get close to Olrik when he realizes they both are paranoid about the 'future man'.

Calli in the Lab:
The wizards on the screen that speak to her on the virtual library will be quite interested in the emerald 'suit'. Merie finds out what Calli is using the lab for, and pulls her aside in private to scold her. "Calli? What are you doing? The emerald sceptre is yours to protect. Only you will know how to use it. To each one who wields the dragon-sceptres they grant different powers. I am sure when you manifest it fully, the suit may help your skill at being sneaky. But, don't trust all the wizards in the virtual library. Luckily, the researcher you spoke with is a friend, and one of my Beneficiaries. Be careful what you look for on the library. Even the researchers get checked at times, but their professors... Now those guys... those guys I never got along with."
Her tone softens, and she is kind to Calli in her office. Alone with the hobbit.
"Whoever gave that to you must've told you to keep it safe." Calli will see kindness and trust in this hardened young wizardess's eyes. Salli is not invited to the meeting, and Olmeric will watch her while Calli is busy.

After preparations are complete Aust will perform a burial at Sea for the priestess, unless there is some objection to it - but it's either that or cremation in the furnace since there's no place to bury her.

After this is done, Aust will probably go to the library to familiarize himself with the system. With help of the wizard system he will ID the magic items of the priestess and the Sea ranger and write small notes of what they are for reference - so as not to take up the time of the crew mages and available spells when an enemy could be lurking anywhere. Once appropriately categorized he'll probably inquire to the captain whether she wishes such items distributed amongst the crew, since without a will from the priestess it is only logical that the commanding officer would make such a decision on whether to simply lock away these items for resale or barter, or let the crew make use of them.

{OOC- Yes, it is clearly Aust who Olmeric seeks out, as someone he trusts. He too is very concerned about these future-dudes.}

Main Deck:
Daen answers Bruug's question on the 'father': "Don't rightly know. The elves don't say, and well... you told me not worry about it. According to you it was some elf-donor who was dead I think in our Time."

Merie on 'shields': "I'm not rightly sure she's off this boat. But.... yeah they could keep her off. Sort of a dimensional-barrier around the ship. It does sap energy. Luckily we've got a solar-rechargeable engine. These special sails are great solar panels. At day we can run stuff all day.... so a lot of times you save power for special times. Like night. In the night the drow was on the ship. She had disabled dimensional barrier so she could escape. Before the whole murder occurred."

Aust will get the list soon for the minor magic items. Merie's feeling on it is to redistribute the wealth to the crew, though this has many union-crewmen grumbling. There is something in the bylaws about sending people's family's or beneficiaries their belongings.

As Arha observes Jo seems to be quite jovial, and even as his other form as the Lemurian sailor, he was always a hard worker. Daen and Jo are one of the hardest working crew on the ship. Before they had been avoiding Liam and Shrike, but that all changes now on the Zephyr.

When Olrik Tries to get away with his comment....
Merie will interrupt his conversation with Bruug to discuss the certain noble-lady.

Olrik is not getting away, and if he avoids Merie, she threatens Olrik with a full arrest on the ship. "Tell me now. What do you know of Jinifir Kali? I will have you killed if you lie again." She seems really pissed now. "You won't be getting away with your mischief on my ship."

Kerri's Burial:
A somber burial will occur at about noon the following day of Kerri's murder.

@Bruug
Olrik sighs and shakes his head "As far as I am aware such a thing is not possible. To slow the timestream or travel forwards through it is doable but travelling backwards... the concept seems flawed. Imagine the actions of Daen inadvertantly caused the deaths of yourself, Shrike and Liam tomorrow morning and your bodies were disposed of in a manner preventing resurrection. Daen would have not been born and would be unable to travel back in time even if he had. He would not exist and so you would have survived, he would be born, he would travel back in time, and you would all die. A vicous circle indeed. That said if time travel is yet to be invented who knows what sort of manner it could work. Perhaps travelling backwards in time causes the universe you know to cease to exist whilst you yourself persist in a newly created universe. Who knows. What I find strange though is that if 'future Bruug' were so keen for his endeavours to be a success why did he not simply travel back in time himself?"

@The previous night
Olrik is almost as equally angry as Merie. "Captain whilst I respect your authority on board this ship your tone of voice is not altogether appreciated. I am nothing if not loyal to the guild and to the search for captain Alli. As it stands though you seem intent upon killing any who you take a disliking too without trial or fair interrogation. The late Roger Thobricks 'execution' killed of a potentially valuable asset and for all we know be the reason for the attack by the white drow tonight. My interest in Jinifir is purely personal. I have a minor reason to suspect she may be held in the same place as Alli simply because it seems that Rockfire's employers seem to have an interest in kidnapping and collecting various high ranking nobles and heirs to throne. I have no intention on telling you how to perform your job but daily executions and threats seems a poor incentive for the crew, especially a crew who we everyone knows so little about. Did you know that you had a time traveller and another ship shifter on board before we left port?"

For her part, the fiery redhead does her best to steer clear of the ongoing disucssions and controversies. Instead, she seems to be staying closer to Liam for the moment, and also, of course, spending as much time as she can with her 'future' son, although she makes a point of not asking too much about what he knows of said future...

Olrik won't make the next day if he takes this tone with the Captain, and Olmeric will show that he backs her all the way. There is no way Olrik can get out of this one. Merie is furious, but relaxes when she hears Olrik's explanation. She feels stupid, and then stumbles a bit on the topic of 'stowaways'. "Actually I did not. These two were hired by the Hadozee. They have proven themselves in all reports I've read. Believe me, the living crew from the last ship is a short list on this spelljammer, so I know these men's activities well."
When Olrik hits upon 'collecting nobles', she seems to light up, "It could be... the King of Kandor. His Seraglio is one of the greatest in the world. Access can be granted for a king-sized fee. And it IS met from time-to-time... Perhaps he is 'upping' his merchandise."

Shrike with Jo:
Jo is friendly with Shrike, "I am his protector. Queen Titania told me to make sure he steered clear of trouble. The 'other' Bruug is always getting crazy ideas into Daen's head. Why do you think we ended up back here." The big Antarian woman does not seem happy about her predicament.

"Well it seemed a plausible assumption. Think about it, so many important nobles have been disappearing. Alli, Jinifir, the origional mission of the Black Tornado seemed to be to rescue a Prince from the Shahaugin as I recall. The Admiral Rockfire and his companions seemed to be maintaining this mission and I was never sure wether that was solely to keep up the disguise or wether it was because they also had an interest in the prince that the ship was seeking to rescue."

Olrik again tries to leave but then stops and turns to face Merie again.
"Captain. If my words here have done anything to earn your trust then I have a last piece of advice for you. Don't trsut me. Nor anyone for that matter. Up till today I thought that powerful magics and manifestations could cut through even the strongest of illusions and could ward against the strongest teleportations. It seems however that whoever it is we are fighting against they have abilities that far exceed our own defences. Trust in your friends, confide in them yes but remember that anybody might be somebody other than who they appear to be. If somebody seems to be acting suspicously, or seems different to how you remember them being then do not ignore it. Allie's crew went a long time with a fake of her at the helm because nobody thought to question their eyes. As such do not rely solely on whatever wards this ship has built into it, keep an open eye on everyone and everything." There is no hostility to Olrik's voice here, only a sense of pleading and empathy. He believes very strongly in what he is saying and means it for the captains best interests.

can we get a list of those items in the ooc so people can tell if we want them or not? No rush.

Aust is probably still a little irritable and will avoid unnecessary conversation if he can help it and will devote his time to using his strength to help tear down and repair the damaged rooms to work out his frustrations. Though with limited facilities (Assuming the ship doesn't have a forge/blacksmith/carpenter) , the best thing they'll probably be able to do is remove the walls of the two adjoining rooms and make it all one large room - probably with curtains for separators. Then again, with the proper application of the right magic the damage could easily be repaired most likely - but the mages would need to rest for this and he didn't even know if anyone had the right spells. So in the meantime this was an interesting diversion.

Main Deck and Events of Ship:
Aust will get a lot of help in fixing the officer's cabin. With all the facilities {carpenter, blacksmith, and others...} the repairs go easier than Aust thought, and the ship even has a limited force beam it can use to push, move, and even attack!!

Within a couple of days the ship will move into the open seas away from the traffic of the empire. There are many fishermen, so Merie holds off on the hyperdrive for a little. The green dimensional shield stays up at all time, and it slows the ship some, but there are no late night attacks.

Liam and Shrike:
Liam could try and explain alternate realities to his lovely wife, but he likely might want to give her the easier to digest version: "Yes... it all can happen." They will probably spend a lot of time discussing geography and population-building.

Daen will become nervous all the time, and wonders when the White Drow will return.

Illanee's Research on Accursed Isle:
Once called Bahn Isle, it is the legendary homeland of the orc.
At times through the long history of the empire it has been ruled, even colonized by humans. Eradication attempts were made, and full genocides accorded. {This includes the times when most elf, dwarf, and gnome cities were destroyed by humans and the ogre-magi.} By this time the orcs had spread far and wide, and had already fully populated the islands of the great Southern Hemisphere's Bay. -The Orcland Isles-

The last attempt {~70 years ago} to kill all the orcs on Bahn was a full-fledged magic attack that surrounded the isle in a permanent toxic cloud of green-black gas. Recent events show that it is now the likely kingdom of the ogre-magi.

Calli and Bruug only:
Bruug's encounter with Calli will be quite odd, for the both of them will hear the telepathic voice. This will be the first time Calli might get confirmation that she is not crazy. Bruug will not see anything, only getting a vision-flash of many past lives in a strange and colorful world. "Hello, Bruug. Calli. Meet Bruug. Aust is highly impressed by the wide compliment of skilled labor and facilities aboard as he did not suspect them to readily be aboard a ship. He will thank and compliment everyone's hard work on the restoration projects. But, there is always more to do.

Though interested in many of the objects, Aust will only keep the ring - mostly because everything doesn't fit his style very well and would probably look very odd in his possession anyway. Though the bag is quite intriguing, without knowing exactly what's inside it's hard to take a complete inventory without doing the obviously stupid thing of telling the bag to empty all it's contents. "Hmm, do I just say the command or does it need a specific command word?" He ponders trying several small commands until he finds one that works, if he doesn't he will inquire to the library as to appropriate commands so that he can take inventory, one item at a time as he doesnt wish to take the risk of damaging other objects in the obvious avalanche that can occur by ordering the bag to expel all it's contents. As there is still that slight hint of suspicion in Austs mind that she may have been targeted for something specific and he was interested in finding it.
Attempted commands (aloud).
List inventory.
Produce all Silver, Gold and Copper coins and objects.
Produce all Gems.
Produce all objects of art.
Produce all books, documents, parchment and scrolls.
Produce one object.
Eject a single random content.
Expel a single living creature. (just in case somethings in there)

He will also try reaching into the bag and thinking about the various contents he tried to command if that doesn't work.

If all the methods fail, then he will inquire how to properly work the bag so he can take inventory. (if im thinking there's more to this then there actually is, just say so if it would slow down the game to create the inventory etc.)

Besides, maybe he'd find some curiosities from the homeland in the bag's contents so that he could reminisce and calm his nerves.

"The Daggers and everything to this side are the Traitor Throbrick and his associates and as such are forfeit to redistribution or resale..." (I assume?) Aust adds as if implying that he could take one if it was necessary. "I've asked around, there's no official will or policy in place as far as im aware;" Aust adds 'official' in the sense of saying 'it's not required'. "However i'd hoped to convince the captain to keep all the equipment that people may not need or would find useful in the coming mission locked away and sent back to her home port and temple for her affects to be distributed as they felt fit - at a friendly port through relatively secure means." Then again, Aust pondered if this ship could simply send the things away via teleportation or some such strange oddity of magic and technology he hadn't seen yet - he wouldn't put it past a vessel of this caliber with so much wizard backing.

When he mentions the contents of the bag Aust simply shrugs. "I know of no one aboard who has known her long enough to truly guess such things - the only ones I would guess who could actively answer have either been killed in previous missions or have been abducted according to our current missions objective..." He adds with a slight sigh. "Which is why im attempting to take an inventory to get a better perspective on the matter. Im no religious scholar but im probably one of the few aboard who is native to her pantheon's influence - Isis specifically." He adds knowing it doesn't make him qualified but so far, it sounds the most qualified to him.

Looking over the list with a scrutious eye Olrik glances across to Aust.

"I would say it would likely be best to bring all of the items to the captains attention. Likely those of us who she calls experts are already equipped with better weapons than those you have collected. Perhaps it would be better to hand them out to the more experienced crewmen so we are better prepared for the coming troubles? The priestess' belongings I would return to her church, I'm surprised you even looted her really."

Lothmar
2010-07-05, 12:55 PM
Aust rolls his eyes when Olrik uses the term 'looted her'. "Forgive me of being suspicious that there might be something deeper then our white drow simply seeking to deprive us of our old crews affects and actually trying to investigate the issue." Aust adds as if reminding Olrik that the white drow took everything from the last victim and simply left a heartless corpse and probably would have done the same if they had not interfered. "I feel there's more to this then simply a 'first alone first killed' priority to the white drow's targets - but if there is im still not seeing it." He adds with a sigh as if uncertain what in the possession of the two victims would have been important.

"And don't worry, I have already brought the subject up to the captain and have obtained her permission for redistribution and resale if things are not of use. As for your suggestion of giving such affects and equipment to the crew, most are in the same opinion of sending them back to the church or any next of kin if available so I doubt any of them would be interested in any of the priestess things less they be shunned by the rest of the crew. Though as stated, Throbricks equipment is fair game - so after officers take a look to see if anything's useful to them, then the rest of the crew gets a turn. And those who take something obviously, will get a smaller share of coin if anything ends up getting sold at a later time from Throbricks affects; and things that are left over from the priestess affects if no one chooses to make use of them will be returned to the church at a point when it is both safe and prudent to do so."

Merie will discuss things with the church of Isis later. All Kerri's items would be donated to the church later. She promises Liam and the crew to purchase these items from the church, or at least give them to the temple later. "I am a very rich woman. So, Liam, if your wife doesn't get jealous, I think you should take her quarterstaff." Merie jokingly flirts and plays with Liam holding the sexy staff before her. Thobrick's items are divided unquestioningly, Merie assumes they are all stolen items.

Merie confirms that there is a limited teleport power, but once again it is used in the same vein as the shield, and other force effects, so when one is up the other cannot happen.

Aust and Arha can examine the contents of the Bag of Holding:
Dried Foodstuffs
Trinkets:
Colorful rock; maps; wooden toys; different peasant caps of the world; a few pieces of really cheap, but flashy jewelry; among other valueless items that might be found in a Kender's Sack (http://www.kencyclopedia.com/kender/pouches/random.cfm). All from Kerri's travels around the empire.

"I hardly knew any of you, yet alone her, and already picking over her things..." Shrike sighs, eyeing the items, then pointing at one of the daggers. "If it's alright, then I would like to put that one to good use, in her memory, and in giving it a good home after being used by a traitor."

She has a habit of this kind of thing; she still carries a shuriken, taken from the assassin who killed Sabriel that time...

Dorothy then smiles at the captain, chuckling a bit at her words, and flirty posturing. "Oh, trust me, I won't mind if his hands run over those curves a bit. Just as long as I get to run my hands over them as well." She winks at Merie, and gives Liam a squeeze.

((OOC thread for mention of the dagger and such))

Liam nods, "Since the captain recommends it, I will carry the staff to honor the compatriot I did not know. I'm not a worshipper of Isis, nor of any god - though I give them all my respect. It is my understanding that she is a goddess of magic and fertility; things I pay homage to in my daily existence." He hugs Shrike back, "Also, what's mine is yours, milove. You may fondle my staff any time you wish!"

With all the 'talk' going on of staffs and mountains... Arha is staying clear of Liam and Shrike. She doesn't really care to hear about someething of which she isn't getting any of and it irritates her.

She doesn't try to lay claim to any of the items, leaving them for the others or for whoever wants them. She's contemplating how to study poisons when she doesn't have easy access to the ingredients.

Journey of the Azure Zephyr:
At some point four days after leaving the North Zalbos port, and once the Azure Zephyr has gone far North into open sea, it will be announced that the ship will make the hyperspace-jump.

Most of the crew has been prepared for the ship's operation, however, few of the crew have ever actually plane-shifted at all. This was a mostly human crew, trained by the wizards to operate this massive metal ship. This as far as a mostly human endeavor was one of the first of its kind on this planet.

Merie and few of her special spelljammer officers will code the coordinates, and tell all crew to get below decks. The crew already has been spoiled, with a gameroom, rec-room, and the virtual library, there is always something to do. There is even a bar area, where Olmeric has his young assistants serve liquor at approved times and quantities. Going below decks was a pleasure for the crew.

All will be sent below decks, except for essential crew on the bridge. The travel was NOT instantaneous, and there was a dazzling spectacle coming, so Captain Merie wants all of you to be prepared when she announces that it is time to plane-shift the ship.

Arha and Poisons:
Arha will be able to study wild animals, and even have 'chemical' analysis of their venom and other traits. She can easily come across poison studying various animals. Eventually she can get the dagger to manifest a couple poisons of scorpions and snakes. She of course endangered herself with the dagger in these studies, and even cut herself once. Luckily, she's a tough wizard lady.

Illanee continues her observations of the ship and crew, sticking to shadows and hiding places. She checks in on Liam and Shrike frequently and Bruug far less frequently. Seeing her above deck is a rarity and starting with the captain's announcement of a planeshift she won't be seen at all until after it's done.

For all the ship's fancy abilities and seemingly study construction, the drow finds herself unsettled by the entire mode of transportation.

Up until the ship is ready to plane-shift, Shrike spends her time (when not with Liam and his staff) exploring the ship, trying to learn how it works - or at least learn enough not to look like a total idiot. She also spends a good bit of time with Illanee, talking, still learning more from her mentor on religious matters, as well as family ones, and, noticing her unsettledness, expressing a willingness to discuss her concerns about the transport.

Later, when the plane-shift comes about, she joins her husband and their future son in their cabin, leaning gently against Liam's side as he asks the question she was too afraid to ask.

Shrike

AT some point during the journey Olrik decides to seek out Shrike. He is interested in comparing notes with the other Psions and she seems to be the most connected of them. In a manner he also tries to avoid Brugg for the time being, whilst he enjoyed speaking with the ogre mage he could not help but feel the direction the conversation was heading in was perhaps a little...inappropriate.

Olrik might find Shrike running laps of the ship below decks as it undergoes the Plane Shift, looking, perhaps, just a bit claustrophobic, but giving the other psion a nod and smile of greeting as he is spotted. "Good day. Orlik, I resume, yes?" she asks.

((And yes, she did say the name wrong, a bit. :smalltongue:))

Jair Barik

"Olrik...acually." The Psion smiles slightly, only slightly mind.

"I noticed during the battle with that Demon that you used a number of Psionic abilities, specifically Psychokinesis. I assume that is your main field but was curious as to wether or not you have branched out into any other study of the powers of the mind."

Hyperspace Jump:
This ship has all the amenities of a starship cruiser, and things that go with that, so it won't be surprising to those of you expecting a light-show; the hyper-jump is quite exciting to watch.

Energy crackles and whirs around the ship in a spectacular rainbow of colorful light that encircles the ship. Merie doesn't mind the officers on the main deck, but traveling through the astral with no shield up, Merie wanted to keep the general crew safe.

The flashy jaunt to the Astral takes several seconds, but quickly the wide blue ocean becomes expansive yellowish nothingness. Those on the deck will feel no air as you move, but the little bit of astral-debris floating by at sonic speeds gives you an idea of the Zephyr's astral-speed.

Those of you on the main deck will see a flock of something silvery approaching at near-warp speeds. You will only have a moment to react, and it is clear that these silvery triangles are not friendly. For those of you below decks, without even an order the ship will suddenly blink, flash, and buzz with the noise of Red Alert Stations! The red light and sound manifests magically through illusion, even Aust is aware of the fuzzy illusory alarm.

Daen and his Parents:
Daen is not sure he can speak on this, but since Jo isn't around he relaxes. "Not sure of the future really. Without you guys around after a while... well... I grew up on the fey-plane. If it wasn't for Bruug and the... well, if it wasn't for him, I might still be there with my brother. From what I see now there appear to be more elves nowadays. I hear 200 years ago, there were millions. In the future even the elven empire is gone."

Arha and the Eye:
"The White Drow wanted the healer dead."

Calli, Bruug, and the Dragon-Voice:
"Yes... I could be called a king. A ruler of my domain. For a brief peroid, I was the head of the Council of Emerald Dragons."

Salli, if around, is not privy to any of the telepathic communication, and will wonder what the ogre and hobbit speak at. Meeting Bruug, Salli as a pretty hobbit smiles, "I can even have limited adaptation to the surroundings if needed. I may even be able to breath the ogre air of the isle."

later, with Olrik

"I do know quite a few abilities like that," Shrike confirms. "Most of what I can do is electrical, although I can do fire and sound with the energy bolts as well. I haven't studied them much though. As long as they work and zap the bad guys, that's really all I care about," the 'psionic barbarian' says with a chuckle.

At dinner:
"Oh." Shrike frowns a bit; some of her best friends are elves. (And dark elves). "Well, hopefully this time around, we'll be here for both of you." She slips an arm around Liam, and whispers in his ear. "Or the three of them. Or four..."
Chuckling, she turns her attention back to her 'future-son'. "Would it be breaking history to ask if you...have anyone?"

Aust will be able to get to the main deck quickly. Most of the general crew has a station to get to. Those staying below will man a bow-port, or even mechanical gun or ballista. They will remain below decks. Olmeric will make his way to the main deck where Merie, Gertha, and other important officers are.

Salli is scared when Calli leaves her, but does stick close to Percy the gay bard, who is now manning a bow-port. Percy points her to another bow-port near him.

You are able to activate few of your defenses on the way to the main deck. And already the silver jets will be zipping away after blanketing the deck with a yellow laser attacks. Shields hold, but the concussive force rattles the ship. Another problem, is there seems to be an invisible source, projecting a green dimensional anchor grounding the ship. This manifesting green beam is far bigger than anything Liam has tried to create. It is separate than whatever jets just flew overhead.

These things are so fast, that you basically get one shot to fire at them. Unfortunately with the shields up few attacks can get out. One good thing, of the dozens of miniature silver jets with githyanki pilots riding on top, a couple are blown up by the ships force bolts in defense.

As Calli comes to the deck, she will feel her own hand come alive with energy. She feels she might even be able to 'throw' some sonic energy at the attackers through the force shield!
