Apparently, it's Geek Pride Day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geek_Pride_Day) today.

Geek Pride Day is an initiative which claims the right of every person to be a nerd or a geek. It has been celebrated on May 25 since 2006, celebrating the premiere of the first Star Wars movie in 1977.

What will YOU do to celebrate?

It's also Towel Day. I shall wear my dressing gown all day.

Dropping a penny off with this would seem appropriate (http://www.madnessagainstmalaria.com/Team.aspx?FundRaiserID=5644)... (apologies for not updating this since last year).

I believe that I already summarised my attitude towards this on Facebook

"Doing a serious assignment on Space Operas. No better way to celebrate Geek Pride Day. Geek Pride! For Khador, One Emperor, Two God-Emperors, The Chancellor, The CIS, The Republic, Saruman, Gondor, Isengard, Theoden, Stryke, Captain Dagon's House Of Fish, Salamandastron, Metal, The UNSC, Two Alliances, Thor, Azure City, Fire Steel, Thundersteel, Icesteel, Cold Steel, Thunderfire and The Warlock Of Firetop Mountain!"

"The right to not like football or any other sport."

I am all for celebrating Geek Pride but what is with the sports hate? What does this have to do with being a geek?

Sports geeks are out there too.

EVERYTHING on that list is stereotypes. However, it is also rights, not responsibilities.

Not that I agree on everything on THAT list.

As for what I'll be doing... I'll be surfing the 'net, playing some WoW and some Mass Effect, and watching some TV. Business as usual.

Only see this thread at 22:25 PM after having spent a day not doing anything geeky.

Unless you count digging holes for SCIENCE! but that hardly counts, and no one saw it.

On the contrary, my friend, it can be extremely geeky. (http://www.diggercomic.com/?p=824)

And that's not even counting possible archeology.

They would happily develop, since they were Sand bees. They dig their nests down there. :smalltongue:
