what is going to be yours?

I'm torn between

"what are you looking at?"

and

I prepared explosive runes

No gravestone for me. Put me in a little boat, set it out on the ocean, and light the thing on fire.

"Here lies Fred,
A rock hit him in the head,
Nothing more can be said,
For we do not speak unkindly of the dead."

or

"I told you I was sick!"

If I was to choose one at present, I'd try to write up something similar to the Witch's Epitaph (http://umineko.wikia.com/wiki/The_Witch%27s_Epitaph).

In a Thurmont, Maryland, cemetery
Here lies an Atheist
All dressed up
And no place to go.

I like that one.

I won't be buried. Can't put me in a Jewish Cemetary in any case, and I'd prefer to burn, or green burial.

Went out of tune.

Yes to both, actually, as well as a copy of Sword in the Stone.

I'll put a question mark at the end of my death date kind of like how movies did that with the word The End? to imply a sequel.

You have that song stuck in your head too? I thought I was the only one.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind something about using concrete to keep me from rising as a zombie.

"I rolled a one."

Huh. That's actually missing the one that I find most memorable. Allow me, then:

Remember, friend,
as you pass by:
As you are now,
so once was I.
As I am now,
you too shall be.
Prepare, therefore, to follow me.

In a way- she's adorable, has frenetic energy and runs around all over the place interspersed with sitting calmly and watching the world go by, and has a very nice tail. :smallamused:

I must say that I am terribly impressed that you knew the Italian and a fairly obscure Disney film well enough to recognize the reference quickly!

Here lies Lester Moore,
Four shots from a .44
No less, no moor

Famous epitaph from boot hill.

How about this:

“I’ll be back”

i dont want anything in my grave stone other than a TV monitor and 2 controllers spouting out the sides to play pac man or pong or space invaders :smalltongue:

or mario kart or sonic, or bomberman... well virtually anything people can pop along and play for the fun of it

ive not really thought seriously about it. because i hope not to die soon.

"Not home right now. Will return in three days."

"I was right."

"And so as you read these words telling you now of my state, I tell you to enjoy life, I wish I could, but it's too late."

"Ottakaa te ilo irti elämästä, ja täyttäkäätte ikävyyden lovi. Myöhäistä on silloin kun tuonen tuvil' tullaan, ja hiljainen on mullan musta povi."

"Neener-Neener!"

"Raiding Hell. Will be back in a sec."

"Taking it up with the management."

"So long, suckers!"

My gravestone will be a small, portable memorial with a photo or something. My body won't be anywhere near, as the last thing I'll do is go to a forest and pick up a fight with a wolf / bear / moose / wolverine / hippo / elephant / crocodile / dragon, and presumably be eaten by said critter once it's done.

That said, if my offspring are so inclined, they can fetch my bones and make a chair out of them or something. Or maybe I'll just pick a fight with them.

One of my favorites has always been the epitaph that the Hungarian mathematician and all around crazy cool guy Paul Erdős wanted for his gravestone:

"Végre nem butulok tovább".
("I have finally stopped getting dumber").

(They didn't use it. If I'm ever in Hungary, I'm totally finding his grave and changing it. Though I'm certain I'm the first geek to hatch that plan, so either it'll already be done or the cemetery will have countermeasures in place.)

"Do not mourn for I have died, celebrate, for I have lived."

"I have accepted that nothing is eternal, and pray you do the same"

Though I would like a less than serious epitaph should one come up, I couldn't imagine giving one to any people I know now, whether they wanted it or not.
