Okay. When mounted you can take actions with penalties listed as they are in the phb under mounted combat.

Those are your actions. What can your mount do?

for example. your mount is a lion. your mount charges the enemy. you mount has pounce thus makes a full attack. can you do anything that round? maybe shoot an arrow at the begging of the charge?

anyone who could break down the actions available to mount and rider in the same round would much appreciated.

Mounted Combat (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/specialAttacks.htm#mountedCombat)

Edit: All right.

You and you mount can both take actions with few exceptions:

If your mount moves up to the enemy (it's move) you can't make a full attack with a melee weapon. You can make a standard or full ranged attack, but at a penalty if your mount runs or charges. If you have a move action available, you can take it as normal.

Thank you thats very helpfull.

follow up question

i take Ride by attack.
Benefit: When you are mounted and use the charge action, you may move and attack as if with a standard charge and then move again (continuing the straight line of the charge). Your total movement for the round can’t exceed double your mounted speed. You and your mount do not provoke an attack of opportunity from the opponent that you attack.

I can attack as though from a standard charge. . . can the mount also attack as though a standard charge. . . or would the mount need spring attack
